Very nice room with beautiful sea view just lacked storage as no wardrobe or cupboard, very bright in the morning but luckily we took eye masks, they provide ear plugs as a little noisy, Could do with being a little cleaner and looks a little tired as does the area, lots of closed down places. We stayed during may half term but was surprised how quiet everything was after 5.30pm. Parking was only an issue once but managed mostly to park in warrior square in a free space.

Staff were lovely. Breakfast was delicious. This hotel has no parking & if you’re driving this is a serious issue. Everywhere around only has 2 hour parking. There is a paid parking lot on a side street at the back, but it’s only for 4 hours. After 6pm you can park until 8 AM, but then you have to move the car every 2 hours. We stayed in room 11 which had a Seaview It was very large and a huge comfortable king bed, with lovely bedding and a beautiful bathroom It’s a bit noisy because it’s on the front, but they provide earplugs which is fab. Honestly, the sea view with the weather in England, isn’t anything special. It rained the whole visit whilst we were in Hastings, I’m sure if the sun was out it would be a whole different experience. Overall, we had a nice visit at this hotel

The general vibe of the hotel is nice and it's very well located on the sea front but the mattress was really bad. One side of it was jingling when we moved and it was so soft and unsupportive that we both woke with sciatic pains. There was also quite a heavy leak in the shower, which is located in the main room rather than the bathroom, which we weren't informed about before our stay. This meant that some of our clothes got drenched and we spent every morning having to soak up the leaky area with bathmats. This may not have been so bad if staff had let us know first and checked in on the issue but we had to go and request more towels and then they told us they'd known about the problem but that it was due to be fixed after we left. Parking is an issue too, which could really be listed on the website/booking pages.

The property is ideally situated on the seafront, a short distance from railway station. The room we had was beautifully decorated and equipped, with a good en- suit shower room. Excellent view of the sea. The only slight negative, was there was quite a lot of noise from the road outside, however this wouldn't put me off staying again !

Seafront location on busy road, so some people will prefer rear rooms. Bright and spacious room (4) with decent shower etc and a table and chairs. Parking is a challenge, but ok durng check-in period. Ideal for our short break.

Room was spotlessly clean and had a fabulous ocean view. There is traffic in front of the hotel so beware when booking if you are a light sleeper. There are rooms that do not face the street. Hotel does provide ear plugs and we slept just fine. Restaurant on site served great breakfast. Only suggestion I would make in the room we had (room 4) would be to see about switching the tv and stand with the dresser and mirror as when you lie in bed the tv was on the left as opposed to straight ahead which made it difficult to view. Also the mirrors in the room need to be raised so that everyone can use them. If you hung the mirror over the dresser longways then it would solve the problem. Just some thoughts. Thanks

The room was pleasantly decorated and well equipped. However, there were a few stray hairs here and there. The bed was roomy but lumpy. The seagulls were very noisy, but the earplugs provided worked well. The hotel is situated in a great area. We would have preferred a sea view rather than a view of the car park.

My room had the worst bed I’ve ever experienced in all my years of staying in hotels. I expect that any mattress lying on the side of the road would be better than this. It completely sagged in the middle with springs that poke into your back. I sat on it for two minutes and had instant back pain. There was no way I could sleep on this without debilitating back pain so did not stay more than 15 minutes. It is astounding that an establishment could actually think it is ok to charge people money to sleep on this. The hotel is not clean either. The toilet has grime in places, floors not properly clean, especially the stairwell. The windows do not open properly in the room. The lady on the front desk is rude, completely unhelpful and contemptuous. They charge £10 an hour to leave a bag behind after you check out- I have never experienced this kind of exploitation and lack of generosity from any of the thousands of hotels I have stayed. I left and went back home rather than inflicting a stay at this hotel on myself.

The breakfast offers were quite limited, and when I asked to swap one of the items on a already small breakfast, this was not possible, so I could not swap mushrooms for another hash brown or something like that which I thought was quite liberating as satisfaction in a rundown area is probably going to be there Best asset however something quite small like swapping an item seem to be quite a problem. Other than that the property was generally good, but I did find the rooms especially the bathroom a little bit dirty, not as clean as I would expect but the bedroom itself was good.

This is one of those places where you yet what you pay for. PROS: *The location of the peoperty - beach front close to public transport, and is on the main street *The staff are very welcoming *They offered to clean the room *You get 20% off on breakfast downstairs, and the food isn't terrible. CONS: *We reserved a room to accomodate 3. As it turns out, a room for 3 means you'll get 2 separate rooms with 1 single and a double/queen. To be fair, our family is the only one in that wing but we would've preferred to sleep all in one room as expected. *Whilst I believe that the staff did their best to clean, the pillow cases, duvet, and bed sheet has traces of make up. It might be that the bleach isnt stront enough to remove make up stains, or perhaps the staff's make up touched the covers whilst doing the bed, but when you see make up traces, it makes you question whether they've replaced the sheets after every guest. *Lastly, I think that the bed are quite springy. As I said, I think that you do get what you pay for; but the saving grace of this property is the staff and location.

We had an excellent stay at the Bank Hotel, our room was spotless with a fantastic sea view. The bed was huge and we had a great nights sleep, despite being on the main road there was no noise. The location of the hotel was also perfect, a few minutes walk downhill from the station and close to some great bars and restaurants. The staff were also very friendly and accommodating, I'll definitely be staying again.

Our stay at the Bank and Bistro was good, quick and easy check in and lovely staff, Room was clean and had everything we needed. We found the mattress was slightly uncomfortable but I would definitely stay there again.

We were given a top floor room. Both my husband and myself have mobility issues, but they refused to change our room. Room had nowhere to put clothes, had to live out of suitcase. The carpet was very dirty and had a dusty smell. Cold water tap in bathroom, ran very hot, so no cold water to drink. Room looked nice, but bed very bouncy and pillows lumpy. Wouldn't stay there again.

I stayed in room 11. The room is nicely decorated, light and airy with an uninterrupted view of the sea. The hotel is nicely decorated throughout.. It can be noisy at night being situated on the main road but I was prepared for this after reading reviews prior to staying. The hotel is a few minutes walk from the town center and a ten minute walk to Hastings. Overall I would definitely stay at this hotel and would book the same room

One side of it was jingling when we moved and it was so soft and unsupportive that we both woke with sciatic pains. There was also quite a heavy leak in the shower, which is located in the main room rather than the bathroom, which we weren't informed about before our stay. This meant that some of our clothes got drenched and we spent every morning having to soak up the leaky area with bathmats. This may not have been so bad if staff had let us know first and checked in on the issue but we had to go and request more towels and then they told us they'd known about the problem but that it was due to be fixed after we left. Parking is an issue too, which could really be listed on the website/booking pages.

The property is ideally situated on the seafront, a short distance from railway station. The room we had was beautifully decorated and equipped, with a good en- suit shower room. Excellent view of the sea. The only slight negative, was there was quite a lot of noise from the road outside, however this wouldn't put me off staying again !

Property is in a great position and is great value for money. Room 12 was spacious and comfy. Eclectic furnishings add a quirky feel to the place. Would definitely stay again if I was in the area.

Room was spotlessly clean and had a fabulous ocean view. There is traffic in front of the hotel so beware when booking if you are a light sleeper. There are rooms that do not face the street. Hotel does provide ear plugs and we slept just fine. Restaurant on site served great breakfast. Only suggestion I would make in the room we had (room 4) would be to see about switching the tv and stand with the dresser and mirror as when you lie in bed the tv was on the left as opposed to straight ahead which made it difficult to view. Also the mirrors in the room need to be raised so that everyone can use them. If you hung the mirror over the dresser longways then it would solve the problem. Just some thoughts. Thanks

It was fine,but - I was in the area early, and they would not let me leave a ( very small) case there until I could check in.It actually states in the info in the room that they will store luggage before check in,or after check out.So I’m not sure why I couldn’t leave something,..they said there was “no room” - that’s clearly not true.And if it is true,then perhaps don’t tell people you can! To be honest,I usually stay in other hotels in the area,and will probably stick to them in future. The breakfast was nice though..

The room came with ear plugs - because its incredibly noisey and should seriously come with a warning. This caused very bad night of intermittent sleep. As well as this they were unable to accomodate either early check-in or to take 2 bags for a couple of hours prior to check-in, or to offer a half hour later check-out. My room had the worst bed I’ve ever experienced in all my years of staying in hotels. I expect that any mattress lying on the side of the road would be better than this. It completely sagged in the middle with springs that poke into your back. I sat on it for two minutes and had instant back pain. There was no way I could sleep on this without debilitating back pain so did not stay more than 15 minutes. It is astounding that an establishment could actually think it is ok to charge people money to sleep on this. The hotel is not clean either. The toilet has grime in places, floors not properly clean, especially the stairwell. The windows do not open properly in the room. The lady on the front desk is rude, completely unhelpful and contemptuous. They charge £10 an hour to leave a bag behind after you check out- I have never experienced this kind of exploitation and lack of generosity from any of the thousands of hotels I have stayed. I left and went back home rather than inflicting a stay at this hotel on myself.

Lovely room, boutique feel. Bed was huge and some great original features of the room retained and good location. Warm welcome on arrival. The downside was after booking i found that we had to check in by 530pm and there was no one on site after this time. Wouldn't put me off booking again though

Had to check in before 5.30pm. Was greeted and keys handed out, very impersonal. After 5.30pm, No one at the property until 9.30am, though on their breakfast menu it says 7.30am.

It was a lovely stay. The owner of the hotel was very nice when we arrived and checked us in. The room was clean and welcoming and comfortable. It was quiet and we had a lovely sea view which was amazing, beautiful. Overall a lovely stay and we will return.

We had an excellent stay at the Bank Hotel, our room was spotless with a fantastic sea view. The bed was huge and we had a great nights sleep, despite being on the main road there was no noise. The location of the hotel was also perfect, a few minutes walk downhill from the station and close to some great bars and restaurants. The staff were also very friendly and accommodating, I'll definitely be staying again.

Very nice room with beautiful sea view just lacked storage as no wardrobe or cupboard, very bright in the morning but luckily we took eye masks, they provide ear plugs as a little noisy, Could do with being a little cleaner and looks a little tired as does the area, lots of closed down places. We stayed during may half term but was surprised how quiet everything was after 5.30pm. Parking was only an issue once but managed mostly to park in warrior square in a free space.

I stayed in room 11. The room is nicely decorated, light and airy with an uninterrupted view of the sea. The hotel is nicely decorated throughout.. It can be noisy at night being situated on the main road but I was prepared for this after reading reviews prior to staying. The hotel is a few minutes walk from the town center and a ten minute walk to Hastings. Overall I would definitely stay at this hotel and would book the same room

Seafront location on busy road, so some people will prefer rear rooms. Bright and spacious room (4) with decent shower etc and a table and chairs. Parking is a challenge, but ok durng check-in period. Ideal for our short break.

The rooms were pleasant, great features having a bathroom in a former bank vault, however the mattress was poor as you could hear and feel the springs when you moved, and the bathroom extractor fan dropped dust. The breakfast in the bistro was fabulous and service was great. It was excellent value all in all.

Be aware that breakfast is by reservation only on a first come first served basis. Property is also quite cold. Our bed was terrible it had a huge dip in it, definitely needed replacing. Property could be really lovely but does need some attention.

Perfect for us, right on the water. A bit hot/stuffy (due to surrounding rooms radiators) but easily fixed by opening windows to get fresh sea breeze. Def would stay again, lady down stairs was helpful & their breakfast menu is amazing!!

The breakfast offers were quite limited, and when I asked to swap one of the items on a already small breakfast, this was not possible, so I could not swap mushrooms for another hash brown or something like that which I thought was quite liberating as satisfaction in a rundown area is probably going to be there Best asset however something quite small like swapping an item seem to be quite a problem. Other than that the property was generally good, but I did find the rooms especially the bathroom a little bit dirty, not as clean as I would expect but the bedroom itself was good.

For the price we paid we didn't expect much to be honest. And at around £77 per night for a room with sea views we got an ok shower (warm water, poor water pressure) a large bed (mattress has seen a few years) and sparse furniture which suited us fine. It was very windy which meant we had quite the draft from the single pane windows however there wasn't a lot of traffic coming through. Service was ok, not friendly, not unfriendly. Breakfast simple, coffee overpriced.

Only saw one staff member at checkin(which had very limited hours) and she was friendly and helpful. Room definitely needs a new mattress as it is well used. More attention required to cleaning as the fan in the room was incredibly dusty when I need to use it and the only teaspoon was tea-stained. Which I was able to clean off with handsoap and a towel.

Excellent value for money. We stayed in Room 12 which is really quirky and loved the antique furnishings and the layout of the room which is incredibly spacious, but the bed is really uncomfortable on the left hand side particularly. It has what is best described as a crater at the top of it. There are 4 pillows each provided, so I literally filled the huge dip that is in the mattress with a couple of the pillows and I was then able to sleep. It's such a shame as the room is lovely and has everything you need in a great location. The bedding is immaculate and so are the towels. There is no outside noise in this room, which doesn't have a view, but ear plugs are provided should you need them. Can't comment on the food as we never once saw the bistro open. It is quite a weird experience as we had anticipated checking in and enjoying a glass of wine there, but it is literally just a person checking you in, despite it being a bistro set up on the ground floor. We thought we would have breakfast on the last day, but there was no mention of it on offer, even to pay for, but there are plenty of places outside to eat. Great location and as long as you have no mobility issues (no lift) then I'd recommend it.
