Can't beat the price for being in Santa Cruz. The staff was friendly and attentive to our needs as far as room size and accommodating for small loud children (soundproof rooms available) However the Jacuzzi in the room didn't, ice machine was out of order, elevator was out of order. Would use again if I'm found in a pinch for board in Santa Cruz last minute.

Easy access to parking. Superb employees! made us feel welcome. the hot tub was broken and the pool looked like it was inside on the website. but we didn't swim because it was too cold as an outside pool. floors needed a mopping. Walking around in our socks showed how dirty the floors were. only one of our rooms had a musty odor. Over all, the two day stay was family and pet friendly. we felt safe and cared for. A fun stay in Santa Cruz.

the pool was out of commission. The ice-maker did not work. I couldn't get my little window to open. I pointed out that the hospitality had only left me with 2 decaf coffees and no caffeinated and staff said that was all they had. They were directing people complaining about the pool being closed to the other hotel they run still within town (they could swim there, but no rooms available). I am wondering if that hotel is as poorly operated.

This place was awful. To start they gave us a key to an occupied room. There was no safety lock on the door. The pool is not heated, it's freezing. The hot tubs jets were not working and both my son and I got a case of hot tub rash from the hot tub. Our skin burned for 2 days and we had to get a cream for it from the doctor. The room smelled like cigarettes. The shower had mold in it. The outlets next to the bed didn't work. There was not one moment in this place that I felt comfortable. I was worried about health and safety the entire time and for days afterwards. Don't go here. I read false reviews online that made this place sound inviting and luxurious. It is the exact opposite.

When we checked in around 6pm we were given room 105. When opening the door the room was not clean prior to previous tenants checking out. Addressed to front desk and we were given 101. Checking the room out the room was very ran down with damage on the walls and did not have a pleasant smell in the room. Addressed again and given 107 but same thing. Room did not have a pleasant smell and very outdated. We ended up leaving and finding another hotel down the road.

The staff was so so, the traffic noise was awful. mold on bath ceiling, bed railing was unsafe ,flooring was coming off.ice machine was Unsafe parking. Not recommended at all

The man working was very friendly, helpful, quick, and gave us a room with 2 beds instead of the one I booked with 1. But otherwise, the hotel was really old, and not in a cute-vintage kind of way. Like in a non-maintained kind of way. The pool was closed which is annoying because I picked this place for its indoor pool. Our room door was broken and was extremely hard to open and close, my kids would not have been able to open it in an emergency. I couldn’t tell if it was the ice machine or some kind of maintenance but there were loud noises and banging around all night. The ice machine was very dirty. And overall the place was just very dirty. The room floor was especially dirty, and the shower did not look clean. I’m a pretty low to reasonable standards kind of person, it takes a lot for me to be bothered, but yeah do not recommend.

Hotel is generally a bit run down. Customer service and check-in was fairly good, but my room had hair left behind in the shower. I asked for a new room and was promptly moved. But then my second room had hair in the sink! I didnt want to move rooms a third time and who knows what I'd find behind Door #3. I gave up and just hoped that the rest of the room was actually as clean as it appeared without a deep look. Budget friendly but I wish I had just spent a little more and not had to worry about cleanliness. Good spot, walking distance to the most happening areas.

Check in was easy and quick. The room was dirty however. There was what appeared to be cooking oil stains on the ceiling and on the wall above the closet area. The body wash, shampoo, and conditioner dispensers were all completely empty. About half of the lights in the indoor pool/ hot tub area were out, making the place dark and dingy. The check out process was also confusing. We waiting for someone at the check out office for about 10 min but no one ever attended us. There was also no box available to drop off the key cards. We ended up leaving the key cards on the desk and hoping they’d be received. Overall a subpar stay. I would avoid staying here again whenever I’m back in town.

The room looked nice but when we looked closer there was hair still in the shower and on some outside the bathroom walls. There was mold on the ceiling in the small bathroom, the bathroom door didn’t open all the way and it smelled. I also think there was bed bugs because I was getting bit both nights we stayed there. The indoor pool is also in an inconvenient area, it is in the middle of all the rooms and you can hear everything if people are in there. Kind of felt like there was limited privacy and you can hear everything in the surrounding rooms. The guy at the front desk and staff was nice but would not stay again due to poor cleanliness.

The property staff was nice. The bed comfortable but i had my concerns about the linens. The room smelled and wasn't very clean. The shower was terrible. The room we were in was very loud. The remote for the tv was really gross and sticky with a wierd substance. While yhe hotel on the outside looks good. I cant recommend staying again.

This place was disgusting. We went to shower and there was yellow stuff on the towels so where you can’t even use them. The front desk was very rude and didn’t seem friendly. As soon as we walk into the room, all it smelt like was bleach, you couldn’t stay in that room for long it was too strong. The pictures do not look like the hotel either. Was very disappointed in what we walked into. Do not recommend.

Bathroom so small almost impossible to access. Sink area tiny and faucets so loud it was impossible to use and not wake up my wife. Ice maker did not work. Modernized room but totally uncomfortable.

Amazingly comfy bed! Great location for being close to water. The room was clean but the sink did have a weird odour but nothing horrendous, it was just noticed when washing our faces. And the shower leaked everywhere while you used it.

Room was much much smaller than pictured. Beware! Very noisy both in and around property (an my room didn’t have a street facing window either) Broken window blinds prevented privacy (had to stack pillows to cover the exposed bottom half of the window) TV never really worked. Loose audio wires hanging from the wall and some sort of vent (speaker????) that was peeling away from the wall above the TV. Kind of a dodgy area of Santa Cruz. Not a lot to walk to around the property. Awkward check in process.

The staff was very friendly and receptive, but overall, the stay was not comfortable. The hotel is somewhat recently renovated, but it could definitely use some additional touches that would have made the stay a bit more comfortable (itchy sheets, thin towels, really bad lighting). The biggest issue with this hotel is the noise. The walls are very thin, and it's surrounded by a busy road and a driveway that services multiple housing complexes, so you constantly hear traffic. Moreover, there are only hard surfaces in the room (no carpet, drapes, etc), so there's nothing to absorb or buffer the sound. That said, the pool was very clean, and it was nice that the hotel provided toys. This was fine for one night or if you're in a pinch, but I would be more than happy to spend a few extra dollars for peace and quiet and more creature comforts.

Place is ok. Just a lot of noise all night. It’s an older place that’s been modernized, so it doesn’t have concrete floors - which can make the noise from the neighbors upstairs an issue. Faucet was also extremely noisy. Hotel next door is under construction , so more noise. Water pressure in the shower was low. Yellow stain on the sheet above the mattress (but below the main sheet you sleep on. Mattress was comfortable, location was OK. Front desk reception and checkout was excellent. Plenty of parking.

No one at front desk upon 5pm arrival, which is typical check-in time especially for a Friday. Waited 40 minutes for a staff member to arrive. - no soap for sink -no soap, shampoo, or conditioner in shower - only 1 washcloth for a room with 2 beds. - no one at front desk to provide missing items. Front desk clerk was seen mostly outside not attending the desk.

Room was ok. A little dirty and damaged. Beds were too soft and the frame was larger than the mattress, which my wife and I both hit our shins on multiple times. The TV was not set, so we had to do that before we could watch anything. The lobby/office used to have coffee and treats, but I was told was eliminated during Covid. Then, the guests in the room next door were dropping bottles, playing loud music, and loudly yelling and having relations until 4am. We tried to complain or move, but the office was closed and Hotels.com couldn’t reach anyone either. We left multiple messages without a response. Also, the smoke alarm was missing in our room which made us uneasy. Terrible experience in every way. Would not recommend staying here unless there are no other options.

The amenities such as shampoo and body wash was not filled and appears shampoo was filled with dishwashing liquid. The sheets had stains on it. Smoke detector going off middle of night . Advertised 24 hr staff. Called and no one answered with phone just ringing. Went to office to ring bell and was standing there for 10 minutes with staff outside taking smoke break. Check out was horrible as it looked as though they were napping at 10:30 am

The front office personnel were incredibly kind and welcoming, and the bed itself was comfortable—though I can’t say the same for the pillows. Unfortunately, beyond that, our stay left much to be desired. Our fridge began leaking water all over the floor, and when we called for assistance, the staff used our room towels to clean up the mess, leaving them piled next to the fridge. We were told housekeeping would be by to both repair the fridge and remove the towels. However, when we returned later that evening, we found the room untouched—no fresh towels, the bed unmade, and the room still messy. We needed to shower before bed, so we called to request clean towels. My husband showered first and ended up using our beach towel since the towels hadn’t arrived. I assumed they’d be delivered by the time I finished—wrong. I had to use the same damp beach towel. Then, around 11 p.m., the front desk called to ask if we still needed towels. Seriously? It was a frustrating experience, especially given the price and expectations. The kindness of the front staff was appreciated, but unfortunately, the lack of follow-through overshadowed that.

I have traveled and this is the first Hotel that didnt give me a receipt. I booked and pdnthru Expedia and it still hold/ charged my card for another $100. Everytime I ask for the receipt He jeeps daying it will be emailed. So I am checking in blindly, not knowing what was charged. I have never had that

The front desk person was extremely sweet and helpful, and for the price the location is amazing! Just a short walk to the Boardwalk. The room was nice enough to sleep in, just the bathroom is dated/you can see the paint chipping off the walls. Overall it was a good stay, did not use the pool but saw other guests enjoying it!

Was a decent stay. Staff very nice .. it’s a bit loud I was street side and you can hear everything also in middle by pool so not the best rest. Though beds were cozy. Easy walk to the boardwalk probably 15 minutes which was fine for us.

Super close to the boardwalk. I love it because it was pet friendly & I was able to have my husky with me. Walking distance to the boardwalk. There’s a super cute local coffee shop in walking distance as well. Check-in was easy. My room wasn’t actually available & the front desk gave me an accessible room which provided more room for my dog so it worked out well! Plenty of parking spaces too. The room was clean.

This hotel was definitely not what we expected. Seemed like a small extension of an apartment complex. Elevator was out of order, parking was uncomfortable and sketchy, nearly no amenities to speak of. The room was super small and musty. Any time anyone in surrounding rooms turned their water on it sounded like a jackhammer which does not aid in sleeping for any period of time. Front desk employee was pleasant but the hotel is a solid NO from me.

Andy was very helpful and friendly. Every employee from housekeeping to the pool man were also approachable and friendly. We loved how the pool was in the middle and private from the public. The boardwalk was a short and pleasant walk nearby.

We had a nice stay, quiet and clean. Pool is not heated but hot tub was hot and clean. The surrounding area is not safe and highly trafficked. Parking was small and had limited space. Gave free coffee, fruit drinks, and snacks in lobby 24/7. Owner was very helpful and kept a good eye on the property. Little Ceasors and 7eleven are near by. Stay on property after dark, shady people and drug users lurk all over.

Nice clean room, conveniently located. Easy to park too. Some friendly staff. Non-fluorescent lights in the rooms would greatly improve the ambience! As would soap in the bathroom. The coffee in the lobby was excellent.

This is a perfectly nice, clean hotel. The staff is nice and helpful. The only reason I did not score this hotel higher, was due to the amenities. Sometimes its nice to have the convenience of things at your hotel.

Office manager very nice. Front desk folks very kind. The parking felt safe. The pool & spa in terrible disrepair super clean room, new bathroom, beds very comfortable- just don’t expect amenities no lobby, no coffee, etc. but there is strong Wi-Fi with clean minifridge & microwave

Check in was easy and quick. The room was dirty however. There was what appeared to be cooking oil stains on the ceiling and on the wall above the closet area. The body wash, shampoo, and conditioner dispensers were all completely empty. About half of the lights in the indoor pool/ hot tub area were out, making the place dark and dingy. The check out process was also confusing. We waiting for someone at the check out office for about 10 min but no one ever attended us. There was also no box available to drop off the key cards. We ended up leaving the key cards on the desk and hoping they’d be received. Overall a subpar stay. I would avoid staying here again whenever I’m back in town.

We had mixed feelings about this place. The location is decent. The staff are nice and friendly. Cleanliness is ok. Our room had only decaf coffee. First, they said they were out of coffee. Then they told us it would be addressed when housekeeping arrived. We stayed several nights, and our room was never stocked with coffee. There was a coffee maker in the lobby, but no coffee was brewed during our stay. Luckily, there is a 7-11 within walking distance. Also, we asked for an extra towel, but we were told we needed to also wait for housekeeping. The pool looked nice, but was broken. We were told there was a pool we could use just a few minutes away. Our room was hot, and the heat wasn't even on. We had to turn on the air conditioner, but the temperature adjustment didn't work, and it was set at 59⁰. Our shower water was hot on the first 2 days of our stay, but not after that. We were told we needed to pay a deposit of $100 and that it would be returned within 2 months. 2 months???? That's a crazy long time for a deposit and pretty odd. Parking was adequate. The bed was comfortable.

I booked the room under Pacific Inn, but the name and signage says The Aqua Pacific, so that was a little confusing. That was the only quirk. Nice little hotel with a heated pool tucked off one of the main roads in Santa Cruz. Floors outside are tile and a little slippery in the rain. The hotel has been upgraded and my room was quite nice. The bathroom mirror anti-fog and choice of lighting was pretty nifty. My small room had two queen beds, a microwave/ fridge, and a k-cup machine (nice)! The room was tiny but weirdly, the shower was roomy. Plenty to do within walking distance 1 mile each (downtown & boardwalk). 7-Eleven and restaurants across the street. Very nice and I'd definitely book again.

Honestly the hotel was really good for our stay and it was really close to the beach and other nearby restaurants, mini stores, and etc. the only downside that we had was that the tv was having some difficulty connecting to the wifi so we had to use a hotspot. But everything else was perfect. The bed was really comfortable and you get free parking.

A ⭐️take off is because it was extremely loud at all hours with people talking, doors shutting, and gaps in the bedroom door. I’m guessing this noise is due to thin walls and even floors as to why I could hear everything all around while being in the room. The door kept sticking to open it and when I don’t have full mobility in my chest due to multiple surgeries, this was an inconvenience. I was on the first floor, room #108. Another ⭐️ taken off is because I booked a Queen room and the mattress was definitely a Full size mattress, not a Queen. That extra 6” of the Queen is needed when 2 adults are sleeping in it. I did select the # of people being “2” when booking, a Full size is really for 1 person. The property is nice, there’s turf for dogs, ample parking, security cameras, clean room, nice shower (though I had to ask for hand soap because the dispenser was MIA, but because of the extreme noise that you can constantly hear while in the room, and incorrect mattress listing, I will not be able to book another stay here.
