The Londoner Hotel Sliema

Poolen va fullsatt så vi hade inte tillgång till den! Frukosten va sådär torrt bröd torr äggröra den saknade lite mer fräscha grönsaker och pålägg. I duschen fanns det knappt någon tvål. Mörk rum det gick inte att tända ordentligt så man kunde sminka sig.

Nous avons sélectionné cet hôtel pour sa piscine qui finalement n'existe pas!! Nous avons simplement accès à une piscine qui se trouve à 30 min de marche, dans un autre hotel. Ce détail n'était visiblement pas indiqué dans le descriptif de l'hôtel. Le rapport qualité-prix est donc très élevé ! Toute fois, la chambre est grande et la vue est belle Un ménage plus approfondie serait apprécié.

This was our first visit to Malta and the Londoner Hotel perfectly matched our needs. The location is very convenient for getting to Valletta on the ferry and for the various cruises and tours available around the islands. The hotel itself is modern and clean. We had a harbour view room which had a lovely view across to Valletta from the balcony (exactly as per the pictures on the hotel website - though it probably helped we had a room on the 12th floor). The area around the hotel has plenty of bars and Restaraunts. Some can be a bit noisy but there are always alternatives. Otherwise it’s easy to pop across to Valletta for the evening where there are plenty of options. The Londoner itself has a bar and restaraunt which served decent food and drinks, as well as breakfast in the morning. All in all, the hotel was a great find and one we would use again if in Malta.

Really convenient place, nice modern rooms, friendly staff, clean. The only small issue was the Jacuzzi cover lacking locks and one it wouldn't stay on during one of the very windy days so it was hard to keep the Jacuzzi warm sometimes. But this was a minor issue as the Jacuzzi itself was incredible and the views from a penthouse unmatched. The room overall in very good condition.All the reception and cleaning staff very friendly. Loads of bars and restaurants on the street downstairs

Definitely expected more out of this stay. We were told on arrival that the pool wasn’t available which was a big part of why we booked. Apparently the deal with a nearby pool club had stopped. They gave an alternative of one a 30-minute walk away which is far from ideal. The hotel offered nothing to compensate for this and no support to change our booking considering the difference from what was advertised. They ignored my direct requests and hotels.com requests to cancel the second half of a 4-night booking. We would have happily booked elsewhere, especially since the room was not very comfortable. The bed was very hard with either a massive pillow or a thin lumpy pillow. The bathroom sink is comically big and takes up the entire counter space and it’s one of those showers with no door so water splashes all over the floor. Breakfast is just fine and didn’t add anything to our trip. No chance I’d book there again and suggest you could find a better option.

Enjoyed our stay. Everything eadily accessible. Only issue was there was no pool access as stated on expedia. This was greatly missed.

Modern hotel but nowhere in the room to put stuff, the same in the bathroom not even space for a toothbrush! We chose this hotel because of the private beach, beach club and access to outdoor pool, none of which were available. In fact the hotel didn’t seem to have any facilities outside the room other than a very noisy pub out front.

Really liked the room was clean and staff are lovely. Only two things that were slightly disappointing was the breakfast but I think that’s because I was expecting a proper breakfast not a continental. Also when I was booking this trip I clicked pool as an option and this hotel come up only to find out when I arrived there was no pool.

The roof top view and hot tub were the highlight with an amazing view. Unfortunately the rest of the hotel was average including the breakfast options compared to a facility we had previously stayed at in St Paul’s.

Hôtel agréable, bien situé à 5' du ferry vers La Valette (sauf par temps trop venteux, dans ce cas bus ou Bolt).Déco moderne, chambre spacieuse, salle d'eau fonctionnelle et assez grande.Le petit-déjeuner est servi dans le pub qui jouxte l’hôtel, buffet satisfaisant et personnel très souriant.Par contre le balcon de la chambre étant en fort vis à vis , il ne sert à rien.Autre petit point négatif, un seul ascenseur pour un hôtel d'une quinzaine d'étages, ce n'est pas suffisant, l’attente est trop longue.Climatisation aussi impossible à arrêter, le bruit était gênant la nuit.Globalement, le séjour a cependant été satisfaisant.

Smells really bad inside rooms especially if the bathroom door is open. Otherwise fine location and fine hotel. The restaurant and bar underneath are really nice and the service is exceptional there.

This hotel should temporarily close until the issue with the odours is resolved. Once these issues are resolved, this property has the potential to be an excellent hotel. There is a strong smell of sewage throughout the property, which is unacceptable. It is deeply concerning that staff are required to work in such conditions. The odour was so overwhelming that we were unable to eat our breakfast, as it made us feel unwell. Despite these challenges, the staff were exceptional and went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible.

Wonderful hotel. Immaculate throughout. Sea view rooms to die for and super friendly happy staff. Location is ideal, everything with 5 mins walking distance. I feel in love with Malta and the Londer Hotel, we will definitely be back.

Very clean and comfy hotel. The room had a simple but modern design. Staff was very friendly. Location absolutely perfect. We had a room without a view onto the main street and the sea, which was a good choice because the street is very loud at night. We were very satisfied overall.

Modern functional hotel in a good base to explore Malta. What needs improvement: first impressions when we arrived the music from the bars was so loud we couldn’t hardly hear the receptionist and he made no reference or apology for this. Luckily it was only very loud on Saturday night and I packed ear plugs- perhaps offer these in each room to guests. The room was serviced daily and kept clean and tidy, we stayed for a week though and after a few days the window and balcony was dirty due to high winds blowing up dirt, it would have been nice for this to have been recognised and cleaned. Also due to high winds the hot tub cover kept blowing off and smashing against the window. The straps on the cover need fixing. The breakfast ingredients were of poor quality, I regretted booking breakfast as we ate out twice just for better produce and more variety- every day was the same. The smell is the reception area is like sewerage and needs to be investigated as it’s very off putting. All in all a functional hotel but overpriced for what it was.

A truly wonderful stay at The Londoner Silema.  A friendly professional greeting upon arrival and check in, and a room that didn’t disappoint. Spotlessly clean, spacious, modern and well designed. More than adequate space for storage/clothing etc, functional bathroom with multi outlet shower, and a very comfortable extra large double bed.  Location was ideal, right by the main promenade, near to the shops and abundance of restaurants and bars, without any noise pollution at all. There were also regular buses nearby to other parts of the island.  All the staff were professional and friendly, and the hotel restaurant offered a consistently well presented quality breakfast selection every day.  This hotel offers a quality stay in an ideal location at an affordable price without compromising the things that matter. Thank you The Londoner, I would both return and recommend.

There were ants all over our room. The shower has no door so there was water leaking everywhere. But the ants were coming out of the woodwork and it was disgusting.

Our stay at the Londoner was disappointing. There was a smell that was so strong that we had to sleep with our balcony door open… which then let in the traffic noise. We were scheduled to stay 5 nights, but we actually checked into another hotel for a night to get a reprieve from the smell. We also didn’t have hot water one morning. Would not stay there again.

The room was fine. It was clean and well sized. We opted for the 'city view', on the 12th floor this meant you looked directly into a building site (the builders waved to us each morning when they started banging away at 7am), if you are on a lower floor the city view will be a wall. The hotel obviously cant control what construction work is going on around, but if I have stayed anyway before where construction work may impact you, there has been some kind of forewarning or acknowledgment that this may inconvenience you during your stay. There is a distinct aroma of sewage when you enter the lobby, which is 'cleverly' diaguised with copious amounts of highly fragrant air freshener. The location does overlook a harbour, but there is a very busy main road running along the whole strip. The location serves its purpose as a base to go and visit other places, but for the price, this hotel is just not worth it. Stay in Valletta.

Very well presented and modern property in an ideal location close to the harbour, ferry and boat cruises. Staff were helpful if required throughout and rooms were cleaned daily to a high standard. Ideal hotel and would recommend to anyone wanting to see Valletta or Malta.

the staff was great, very friendly and helpful. breakfast was good too, altho no variety for the 4 breakfasts we had there. the area is very walkable and convenient as it’s close to the bus stops and ferry. there’s tons of restaurants along the promenade, and while it’s very loud down there, you couldn’t really hear the noise in the room which was perfect. we stayed in a waterfront room and the balcony was a perfect spot to watch the sunrise. the room had USB and USB-C outlets, 1 on each side of the bed, and one on the desk which is really convenient if you forget to bring a plug adapter (which btw is the UK plug type G). only downside is how hard the bed is. i saw it mentioned in the reviews but i didn’t think much of it, but oh man they definitely did a number on my back, especially because we stayed there for 5 nights. crazy thing is my partner didn’t mind it at all while every night and morning was a struggle for me. other than that, we liked our stay here.

Pros - room was clean and spacious. Requested view of valetta and got it. Was very nice. Breakfast included was decent. Cons - above a bar so 2 of the 4 nights it was loud til just past 11pm however. Unfortunately, theres construction next door that starts at 7AM. Also patio light goes on in the evening and cant turn it off. Suggest to get a room at the back and higher. I was on the 5th flloor. That bei g said it was okay cause i wanted to get up early and explore and inaleep late anyways....

Great view, very clean, very quiet, would stay again... but needs a shower door ( must have been broken and removed) and the shower rose needs a clip halfway up the wall- not everyone wants a rainfall shower every time.

Perfectly located to public transport bus/ferry, restaurants, bars, shops, waterfront and the promenade, The Londoner Hotel, is a beautiful hotel, the rooms are large spacious clean and stylish, with facilities such as a AC/fridge/ hairdryer/ kettle. The bed is large and very comfortable. The views from the balcony of the waterfront are breathtakingly fabulous, morning noon and night. The rooms are soundproof so once the patio doors are closed it’s silent. I stayed for four nights and slept soundly each night. The breakfast is delicious, with multiple choices (cooked traditional breakfast, eggs, tomatoes, beans, continental selection of cold meats cheese, pastries, fresh fruits, yoghurts, cereal, toast/bread rolls etc). Most importantly, the staff in the hotel/bar/ restaurant are so nice and friendly, particularly David who worked on the Hotel reception desk, he went above and beyond with his level of help and support, from sorting my room request, advice regarding the local area/trips, helpings with my taxi booking, nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend this hotel, it is perfect in every way. I will definitely be retuning.

Room was a great size with a balcony overlooking where the island ferries moor. Shower was lovely. Bed was comfy but only skight gripe was only choice of harder or softer pillow. We could have done with one in-between, but we still slept ok. Rooms were quiet despite building work going on nearby. Reception went above and beyond when i needed to get something printed off for an evening out. Breakfast was fine but my partner being short struggled to sit down as breakfasts are served next door in the Londoner pub which only had bar stools.

Overall the room was comfortable to sleep in and staff were pleasant and as helpful as they could be. However I did book a room with city views with balcony what I got was buildings upon buildings with no views. To make matters worse there were builders that could see straight into my room as could other people living in those buildings so my curtain remained closed and couldn’t use the balcony to relax with a wine or anything which was upsetting.

Located in what others on the island refer to as the posh area. They mean that because of the very high cost of properties and it is an up and coming area with a new designer shopping centre. It’s in a continuous strip of bars and restaurants all pretty standard but either side within minutes are very good places to eat offering a variety The road outside is fairly busy but in your room you don’t really hear it. Fantastic views of the bay if you have a front facing room. The boats/ferry to Valletta are within minutes walk. Our junior suite had a large bed, bigger than a super king and very comfortable Everything else you would need. The bathroom was great, nice shower the only negative part being there was nowhere to put your wash bag/toiletries other than on the edge of the basin, no hooks on the door or anywhere to put your clothes other than the floor. So we had to put a bedside table and stool in there to use so hopefully the hotel picks this comment up. Breakfast is taken next door and was better than expected certainly not just continental with the addition of cooked if you want it and very friendly/helpful staff to prepare something to your needs. So overall I would recommend a stay here, better than its 3 star rating on Expedia. The site also shows the junior suite image as having a double aspect window whereas ours just had a single patio door out to a balcony. The view was great so we were happy. Reception staff very friendly and helpful and went out their way.

Recht neues Hotel, sehr freundlicher und zuvorkommender Service. Das Frühstück ist einfach, aber ein guter Start in den Tag. In direkter Umgebung gibt es viele gute Restaurants & Bars, die zum Einkehren einladen, ohne die Ruhe im Zimmer zu stören.

The hotel is in an excellent location, close to restaurants, Sliema's shopping district, and ferry harbors. The hotel receptionists, Masa and Mohamed Mohsen, and staff are very pleasant and helpful, and breakfast options are very good. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The Sliema Londoner exceeded our expectations. I cannot say enough nice things about the professionalism of the front desk staff. The proximity to ferry service, boat excursions, and food options was terrific. When the hotel says 'breakfast included', they mean a full spread buffet plus the option to custom order egg preparations...and it is all good! Our harbor view was so nice, that I use an image of it as my computer's background screen.

We had a wonderful stay at The Londoner, it is such a great location to explore Malta. The room was lovely, modern, clean and the sea view room had exceptional views of Valletta which was beautiful both day and night. The staff were wonderful, especially Ahmed & Marsia on reception (and the hands on hotel manager which personally fixed our safe), they always greated us with a smile and helped us many times booking taxis etc. They are all a real credit to the hotel, We hope to stay here again soon, Simon & Tammy.

No Support After Hours – Be Prepared for Frustration! The rooms are not soundproof, and the hotel is poorly managed. Maintenance and housekeeping are only available during the day—so if you encounter any issues in the evening, good luck getting help. Reception staff are not equipped to handle much, and the manager is never on site. Overall, there’s little support for guests when it’s actually needed.

Without a doubt I was most impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. From check in to check out, the staff made us feel very welcome and made sure we had everything we needed including a packed breakfast as we had to leave for the airport at 0400.

Location is outstanding. All of the staff were fantastic and very helpful. While professional they were also friendly, always greeting us every time they saw us.

The room was lovely, modern, clean and the seaview room had an exceptional view of Valletta both day and night. Zentral gelegen, alles gut zu Fuß erreichbar. Fähren sind in Hotelnähe.Wer Abends feiern will hat mehrere Pubs vor der Tür, wer die Ruhe liebt sollte ein anderes Hotel wählen. Ansonsten alles in Ordnung.

Great location with wonderful views from the room on the 13th floor. Buffet breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Fresh eggs cooked to your choice was a nice touch.

The Londoner is in a great location. Although it’s on a busy road and below bars and restaurants, you cannot hear a thing when you’re in the room. The staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable.

Alles okay, Frühstück eintönig (britisch 😀)

We would highly recommend The Londoner. We stayed for 1 week (from 23/07/2024) We chose the Junior Suite which had stunning views of Valetta from our balcony. The Strand is noisy with traffic and holiday makers so be prepared for that when you want to sit on your balcony - it didn't bother us as we enjoy people watching. Once the balcony door is closed ALL noise is blocked out. The room itself was spacious, well equipped, air conditioned and clean. The room provided a mini fridge which we stocked with water and cold drinks. The bathroom was large with a fantastic shower. ALL the staff at The Londoner were fantastic, they were friendly and helpful and they always had a smile. The breakfast was fabulous with so many options to choose from. Our departure flight was in the early hours of the morning but the staff provided us with a breakfast box to take to the airport. the box included a sandwich, fresh fruit and some lovely cake - a lovely touch, we thought and another demonstration of the consideration the staff show to guests.

The Sliema Londoner exceeded our expectations. I cannot say enough nice things about the professionalism of the front desk staff. We requested and paid for a room with a view and we got a great view. David at the front desk was frinedly and quick. Breakfast was unacceptable for the price paid for the room $170. Coffee was undrinkable, coming out of an auful machine, although breakfast was offered at the hotel bar. It is unacceptable for the price not to offer humanly brewed coffee. Eggs and omellete were not freshly made. There is construction going on at the building next to the one next to the hotel. Although not the hotel's fault, drilling started at 7 a.m. on a Monday morning. David at the front desk was kind enough to offer a late checkout.

Really modern hotel, with large rooms and friendly reception staff. A perfect base for our holiday! The breakfast was great, and included various continental and cooked options. The vegetarian cooked options were relatively good (scrambled egg, beans, tomato, boiled eggs) which was a great for me. The street is a bit loud / busy at the weekend but we literally never heard anything from our room.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It was very clean and the reception staff were excellent. The views from the balcony were great. The street outside is very noisy, but the room was well soundproofed with the balcony door closed. Breakfast was good.

All of the staff were wonderful- so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good. The harbour promenade was great.
