Nice property with very responsive owners. We liked the dedicated seating area at the bay. Be aware that the shower is small and the tv is small and in a cubby that only faces the bed and not the couch. Room was large and bed comfortable. You can park right in front of your door.

Check in was easily. When i did contact them prior to stay, they were always friendly amd helpful. Has many updates,room included 2 beds, dinnette, full size bathroom, small refrigerator and small tv. We did not stay many nights but noted place to play volleyball onsite and many canoes, kayaks available to use. Cute firepit area.

The location was great. It was just a few minutes away from sleeping bear dunes. It was halfway between Glen Arbor and Empire. Many good restaurants choices, cute little shopping district. We borrowed the kayaks a couple times, played volleyball and horseshoes. Couldn't really fish on little Glen, but it was still fabulous. We ate at Cherry public house, which was a great atmosphere and great food. We also tried bear paw pizza which was also delicious. Mosquitoes were out in full force, so that was unfortunate. The dunes are definitely worth experiencing.

It’s an older building, but it was in excellent condition and very clean. We loved being able to walk down to the water and enjoy the paddle boards and kayaks that were available to use. Definitely coming back!

I am rating this as average as it is about what you expect for a value-priced, older property in a prime tourist area (Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes). On the plus side, it was clean and looked to have been recently refreshed (bedding, paint, etc). The beds were comfortable. And the owners/manager have done some things to make the place more functional (the addition of a shelf and hook in the small bathroom, for example). It is also very convenient to lots of tourist areas. The biggest negative, in my opinion, was that the shower is quite small. Other negatives include needing to call during limited hours for ANY room maintenance as none is done automatically, regardless of the length of your stay and the parking situation which can be inconvenient when the facility is full. The advertisement of a "private beach" is also very misleading. It's basically a bench and sandbox down the road. If you just need a place to crash and clean up, this place is fine.

This is the kind of place you could stay several days. They had kayaks and paddle boards available to use. The lake is beautiful and would be great to enjoy for a longer than a night stay. I would recommend this place if you are looking for a quiet getaway. The area in town kind of closes up early, so don't expect too much of a nightlife.

My wife and I and our furry kid stayed two nights and loved it! First time to the area, we want to come back! Clean, quiet and out of the way. Their beach was near by with kayaks available. Fire pit and grills available for guests as well. Thanks

Our stay with Maple Lane Resort was extremely pleasant! The room was super cute and clean, the staff was helpful and friendly, and the grounds were beautiful and charming. Also, it was conveniently located right next to all the cool spots. We loved every minute and will definitely be back again. Thanks for making our stay memorable.

We appreciated the ease of check in. Our room was VERY clean and comfortable, homey feel. By comparison to other places, I wished the beds were a bit softer, but loved the cool cotton sheets. Loved access to the kayaks and canoe down at the end of the street. Loved the close proximity to Sleeping Bear Lakeshore and Glen Arbor.

I loved the location of this little hotel—it was within walking distance of the lake, less than a minute. The rooms were spacious and clean. I was there with my dog, and he had a terrific time. You can use the hotel kayaks, which is a plus.

Our room was clean and kept up well, and it had a small kitchenette that allowed us to bring our own food and cook dinner there. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was only minutes from many of the spots we wanted to visit at Sleeping Bear Dunes. We are already looking forward to returning next year!

Cute place to stay for that 1950s roadtrip motel experience. Very nice place to stay, right in the middle of sleeping bear dunes national lakeshore area. Very clean accommodations, convenient check-in process. Traveling with my pet was very nice and convenient to stay here.

Very nice handicap room. The bed is high for me and probably others with mobility issues. I ended up sleeping on the sofa couch.

Cute place/setting. Quiet. 150m back from the lake. Nice views. Just very dated, and i could not use the incredibly small shower without getting my hair wet which is annoying as a female.

This place was perfect for a night on our way to backpack in north Manitou, but I would consider it for a multi night stay exploring sleeping bear dunes. Empire is cute and has some dining options. There is also a small beach and sitting area on the lake for the resort. Just a tiny walk away for the room. Kitchenete and fridge, ice machine. Everything you need. Shower is very small and air conditioner loud but not a big deal for us.

Nothing fancy. A room with a kitchenette. Check in is super simple. Quiet area in September. Close to Glen lake. Shower is small and water pressure is low. More windows and a bigger TV would be nice. If you don't need much or want a kitchenette, check this place out.

So relaxing, owners are so nice and helpful. I love that you could text them if you had any questions. Cool watercraft’s to use, like paddle boards and kayaks. Definitely would stay again.

Very nice management, changed my room for me because I needed accessibility. Clean room. Very quiet. The mattresses are standard hotel mattresses, a bit firm for my personal tastes, but I slept fine. I’d only note that there aren’t enough electrical sockets around the bed to accommodate CPap and all the electronic gizmos we have these days. I will gladly stay there again.

It is also very convenient to lots of tourist areas. The biggest negative, in my opinion, was that the shower is quite small. Other negatives include needing to call during limited hours for ANY room maintenance as none is done automatically, regardless of the length of your stay and the parking situation which can be inconvenient when the facility is full. The advertisement of a "private beach" is also very misleading. It's basically a bench and sandbox down the road. If you just need a place to crash and clean up, this place is fine.

I am rating this as average as it is about what you expect for a value-priced, older property in a prime tourist area (Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes). On the plus side, it was clean and looked to have been recently refreshed (bedding, paint, etc). The beds were comfortable. And the owners/manager have done some things to make the place more functional (the addition of a shelf and hook in the small bathroom, for example). Nothing fancy. A room with a kitchenette. Check in is super simple. Quiet area in September. Close to Glen lake. Shower is small and water pressure is low. More windows and a bigger TV would be nice. If you don't need much or want a kitchenette, check this place out.

I loved the location of this little hotel—it was within walking distance of the lake, less than a minute. The rooms were spacious and clean. I was there with my dog, and he had a terrific time. You can use the hotel kayaks, which is a plus.

The location was great. It was just a few minutes away from sleeping bear dunes. It was halfway between Glen Arbor and Empire. Many good restaurants choices, cute little shopping district. We borrowed the kayaks a couple times, played volleyball and horseshoes. Couldn't really fish on little Glen, but it was still fabulous. We ate at Cherry public house, which was a great atmosphere and great food. We also tried bear paw pizza which was also delicious. Mosquitoes were out in full force, so that was unfortunate. The dunes are definitely worth experiencing.

This place was perfect for a night on our way to backpack in north Manitou, but I would consider it for a multi night stay exploring sleeping bear dunes. Empire is cute and has some dining options. There is also a small beach and sitting area on the lake for the resort. Just a tiny walk away for the room. Kitchenete and fridge, ice machine. Everything you need. Shower is very small and air conditioner loud but not a big deal for us.

We have stayed here the past 3 years. The room was very clean so the cleaning staff continues to do a great job. This year the mattress was terrible in our room, there was a constant clanking noise as from the floor radiator that would not stop and we had to play white noise on the phone. The neighbors checked in after 1am and would not be quiet until after 2am. I actually considered going to sleep in my car. We left a day early and found another place to stay.

We stayed for 2 nights, easy to find place, check in and out very easy and simple, very pleasant and comfortable stay, clean room, bathroom was clean, well taken care of. The beds were comfortable, window A/C worked perfectly, and nice ceiling fan. Great WiFi and peaceful surroundings The outdoor amenity was wonderful if you like outdoor activities such as kayaking, fire pit, bbq grill, picnic table etc. At the end of the road, short walk from the property, there is a beautiful view part of Glen lake where you can do your kayaking or just sitting by the dock to enjoy the beautiful, peaceful, quiet and serene view of the lake😊, and before we left, we went to a small Empire Farmers Market on Saturday morning and bought some goodies. Before we end our review, if we may, there are some small suggestions we’d like to make in the room we stayed… For the bathroom: Bathtub - if possible, a small non slippery mat would be nice on the tub’s floor A small corner bath rack also would be nice to put soap and shampoo within reach while taking a shower Tv Remote - some of the buttons on the tv remote for some reasons don’t seem to work for us? Overall, this is a wonderful place to stay, we were glad to find this place😊 wish we could stay longer, if we are in the area, we will definitely stay at Maple Lane Empire again.
