My first impression was "grim", however on closer inspection it was not so bad. The problem is that the reception desk made Bates Motel look positively exciting. The receptionist was fine, but this led to a room painted in camouflage green and grey with a worn out/heavily stained carpet and a cracked WC. Thus my initial impression of grim. However it was clean. Meals are taken in the adjoining pub and while evening food is fine, breakfast is designed for heavyweights and not for those with more delicate stomachs or with dietry requirements. Fresh fruit would be a welcome addition.

The room was clean and comfy. Nice bathroom. Pillows were too soft, with no alternative. The stay was let down by the breakfast. It was virtually cold, one of us had dried up fried eggs, when the fresh ones came out the white was not properly cooked. If they aren't going to serve the breakfast buffet as hot as it should be, then there should be a microwave to heat it up.

Nice spacious room, generally clean and tidy, nothing major. Clean towels were provided daily, and the room was cleaned to a good standard. The bed was comfortable; the pillows could be more comfy, as they were very flat and basic. Hotel reception staff were very welcoming and friendly; there was always someone on reception if needed throughout the day. It was handy having a pub next door for meals in the evening; the menu was limited, but the food was nice. Breakfast was lovely, with a good selection of both cold and hot food; I would recommend buying breakfast with your stay, lovely atmosphere and friendly staff all every morning. Parking was easy and always available; it can be quite hard to get out of the car park during the day with Costco traffic.

It was ok, it was quiet (which is a big plus in my book), I wrongly assumed it was a pub with a lodge of rooms, not what I would guess is a forma Travelodge. Breakfast was good.
