Great location with parking next door in the shopping centre for £10 for 24 hours. Check in was quick and friendly. We stayed in the Ralph and it was very spacious and clean. The bathroom is very small so you had to close the door behind you to move around. No issue for us as 2 able bodied adults. Bed was comfortable and room was very warm but air con unit and fan provides so not an issue. Location is spot on for the town centre.

Great location, right next to the Grosvenor Shopping Centre and around the corner from plenty of places to eat and drink. Parking is at the shopping centre, priced at £10 per 24 hours, and is a couple of minutes walk to the hotel. Ideally placed for the city centre. We stayed in the Emerald Room, which was well appointed. We liked the well stocked coffee/tea and appreciated that the tea was Yorkshire. There was even a pint of fresh milk in the fridge. The only negatives I have to mention are that the main lights in the room didn't work. It wasn't a problem as the lights above the bed and the bedside lamps did, which provided us with light, but I would say they should be repaired. The other thing is that one set of curtains had come off their hooks in several places, so we're hanging down. This made the room look shabby, which is a shame when everything else was so good.

Great location and comfortable, quirky room / apartment. Poor signage from the car park to the hotel, which could be worked upon but to be fair a nice place for the city. Very hot room but portable air con offered, which helped second night.

Amazing facilities really clean and very fancy Only thing i didn’t like was the front door to the hotel was able to be left open the front desk wasnt manned after a certain time so these 2 things together mean surely anyone can just waltz in?

We came here after we got married for a little mini-moon. The room had rose petals on the bed which was a nice touch from the hotel - thank you! We stayed in the Flamingo room and made the most of the lovely copper bath. It was gorgeous. Big room with a seperate area with sofa tv and kitchenette. Perfect for one night but could also be good if you were staying longer. Couldn’t fault the hotel, had everything we needed and staff were super friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back and look forward to trying other rooms too!

This hotel is nice but the apartment we stayed in didn’t have a dishwasher which was disappointing. Also there was just a mini fridge not a full size one. The most off putting thing was There was no privacy in the room whatsoever. We were overlooked by groups of smokers from the shopping precinct balcony opposite. The noise at night was also super loud even with all the windows shut. The room smelt a little musty and we missed not having aircon.

Great hotel. Had a nice upgrade. The room had a comfy bed and was very clean. There was an ac unit in the bedroom which helped cool the room down. The only thing was the shower pressure was very low and cut out a couple of times.

Excellent in all aspects. Everywhere was absolutely spotless and the staff were second to none. We weren't expecting to get into our room untill 3pm but the room was ready earlier and we got a phone call at 12pm to say the room was ready and we could go earlier. Really couldn't be happier with the hotel and will be back at earliest convenience. Definitely lives up to five star rating, well done.

We stayed in the flamingo room and i was disappointed with the kitchenette area it needed a good freshing up there is all marks on the walls. The bed wasn't made very well the sheets should be nice and crisp and made to look like a luxary hotel for the amount of money we paid. When i booked online it asks what the occasion is and i put birthday because it was my 50th but there was no sign of any nice gesture like there normally is so i don't know why it asks what the occasion is for when you book It was abit of a let down... it tells you that you have pay for the smallest tub of pringles and chocolate bar when this should would have been nice to be in with the price of the room which is quite expensive with no water bottle or anything plus the milk was off.

Love, love, love this hotel. Was our second time staying here, both times in the Secret Garden room. Very spacious, comfortable bed, quiet room, fab separate living area. Kitchenette is a real bonus. Fab fire in the bedroom too. Will certainly stay here again and maybe try a different room next time 🙂

Wonderful little hotel. Our family of four stayed in the Zoo room for one night and found it comfortable and well-priced, with unique decor that made it stand out from bland chain hotels. Friendly staff.

I booked for a night away to celebrate getting a new job, so decided to book a slightly better room than would usually choose, however I was left really disappointed. The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable, and the room was absolutely boiling, I tried to open the window however they didn't stay open, there was an air conditioning unit in the room, however when I turned this on at 12/1am it was so ridiculously loud it woke my partner up. The jacuzzi bath was nice enough, but the shower wasn't powerful enough and took a long time to wash my hair Was pretty disappointed since it was to celebrate and the room wasn't worth the money

Exceptionally well located serviced apartments on the doorstep of all Chester centre has to offer with copious restaurants, bars, cafes and bistros. The Safari room had a kitchenette which was useful with mini bar, coffee and tea making facilities. There was a large comfy bed, small dining table and also an air-con unit which was most welcome. The bathroom was large with a walk in shower and twin jacuzzi bath with rooflight over. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we would defifinately use again. Note that the room we had was geared to short stay as there was minimal hanging space, which was not a problem for us. For a more five-star feel we'd recommend maybe a few more toiletries, shaving kit, gowns etc Overall we really like this place.

One of the best hotels I have stayed in, from the text in the morning asking when we will be arriving to the message from hotel advising that I have left my glasses and they will send them out the communication was first class. The girl on reception upon our arrival was amazing, showed us to our room which was stunning - the flamingo room -advising us where to go to get something to eat.
One of the best hotels I have stayed in, from the text in the morning asking when we will be arriving to the message from hotel advising that I have left my glasses and they will send them out the communication was first class. The girl on reception upon our arrival was amazing, showed us to our room which was stunning - the flamingo room -advising us where to go to get something to eat.

Look no further if you looking for somewhere to stay in Chester, the rooms are amazing, we had a upgrade on our room and was blown away, the smell as you walk into The Hotel hits you as pure luxury, the staff cannot do enough for you, special thanks to Rhiannon. We will be back soon

From the first welcome to the last goodbye the staff were so friendly, they were happy to see our 2 Labradors, the room was very clean and had everything that was needed. Fantastic hotel with fantastic staff!

We had a great stay at The Hotel Chester. Amazing location right in the centre, easy parking right next door in the Grovesnor car park and really great staff who let me know shortly after we checked out that I’d left some stuff in the room, would definitely stay again.

What a fantastic place to stay! They staff are so loving and caring and made our wedding stay the best it possibly could be! They were so accompanying for me and my wife, kept us informed before and during our entire stay as well!

Excellent in all aspects. Everywhere was absolutely spotless and the staff were second to none. We weren't expecting to get into our room untill 3pm but the room was ready earlier and we got a phone call at 12pm to say the room was ready and we could go earlier. Really couldn't be happier with the hotel and will be back at earliest convenience. Definitely lives up to five star rating, well done.

The room was spacious and clean with fresh linen and a kitchenette with tea & coffee provided. The reception staff was super friendly and efficient. Very close to the shops and Main Street which is awesome for tourists. Unfortunately the “city” view is the back of the shopping centre and a car park.

Great location with parking next door in the shopping centre for £10 for 24 hours. Check in was quick and friendly. We stayed in the Ralph and it was very spacious and clean. The bathroom is very small so you had to close the door behind you to move around. No issue for us as 2 able bodied adults. Bed was comfortable and room was very warm but air con unit and fan provides so not an issue. Location is spot on for the town centre.

We stayed in the Zoo room on a Saturday night. The room was lovely, service was really good but unfortunately we wouldn’t stay again and would find it very hard to recommend that room to anyone. The room was far too hot with a portable noisy air conditioner in the room when we arrived. The windows don’t stay open so it gets very hot at night when you have to turn off the air conditioner. Saying that, we could’ve left it on as the noise (and especially bass) from a nearby club is unbelievably loud. Such a shame, the hotel can do nothing about the local noise but it has to do something about the heat in that room.

Great location, right next to the Grosvenor Shopping Centre and around the corner from plenty of places to eat and drink. Parking is at the shopping centre, priced at £10 per 24 hours, and is a couple of minutes walk to the hotel. Ideally placed for the city centre. We stayed in the Emerald Room, which was well appointed. We liked the well stocked coffee/tea and appreciated that the tea was Yorkshire. There was even a pint of fresh milk in the fridge. The only negatives I have to mention are that the main lights in the room didn't work. It wasn't a problem as the lights above the bed and the bedside lamps did, which provided us with light, but I would say they should be repaired. The other thing is that one set of curtains had come off their hooks in several places, so we're hanging down. This made the room look shabby, which is a shame when everything else was so good.

The room was spacious and clean. Parking is literally next door. You are next to some key Roman ruins: angle gate, coliseum foundations and Roman garden. Take the tour with the actor dressed in Roman garb.

Firstly the good things: the common areas & my suite (the Secret Garden) were in many ways very impressive in terms of design & everything was beautifully clean. On the downside the suite wasn’t quite as practical/efficient as I’d have hoped. Eg the fridge was just a minibar so v small; the bathroom basin was tiny, the mirror above it with built in light didn’t work & flashed all the time; the wet room arrangement was impractical as the water flooded the area between the shower area & the towel rail. So still a good experience staying here & if design’s your thing then absolutely terrific, but not quite right for me.
