Staunton Underground-Appartement-Salle de bain privée

We love staying “in the thick of things” when visiting Staunton, and Staunton Underground fit the bill! It’s located just a few minutes from the Blackfriar Playhouse and numerous downtown restaurants. The space itself is roomy enough - the bedrooms are a good size; it has a cute common area with an actual dining table and a decent kitchen if one wanted to cook. Bathroom amenities were nice. Parking was easy. Would definitely stay here again!

It was great. My only complaint is that half the concrete steps were covered by bushes, and they only came halfway to the entryway. Also no railing.

Perfect walking distance to Black Friars, Main/ Beverly st downtown shops and restaurants. We parked the car in the reserved spot and didn't need it to go anywhere. We walked to all our desired destinations, it’s all so very close by not too close. There was no street noise. Apartment was bigger than expected, loved the exposed brick. Very nicely decorated with upscale amenities.We enjoyed the provided coffee. The host was quickly available when I had a problem accessing the check in information from a different device. She sent it directly to my phone. We would definately stay here again. The extra touches like the robes, the dishwasher and even me an older adult could work the voice activated TV.

This was easy to find in town and very easy access since it’s on the ground floor and certainly excellent for folks like me who came in for the Stanton bicycle fall festival. The place was a bit smaller than I had imagined, but perhaps that was just me. The host were very responsive. And pleasant. The place was reasonably clean. However, for the price that we pay for cleaning fees, I would’ve thought when I moved the coffee table out of the way so I can stretch and do some yoga on the floor I would not have found dirt underneath the coffee table, and there was also an old dog bone under the couch. The beds were very comfortable and I would certainly stay there again

It was a nice place and clean, but we probably won't return. Only because the bathroom is really small and there's really nowhere else to do hair/make-up. Now, it is a very old building so I understand they are limited on space/resources. Someone else may have no issue with this at all. It is very cute, it was clean, beds are comfortable, and all amenities as listed. It is a great location to downtown, super short walk. It's just not ideal for us.

This little nook was spotless, nicely decorated, warmly lit, fabulous linens and well appointed kitchen. It was a convenient walk to all of the historic district. The management staff was quick to respond and very helpful. Highly recommend!

My wife and I stayed here for two nights. We enjoyed our stay. The property is clean and well furnished, and it's in a great location. We were able to walk to restaurants and shops in the downtown area.

The property was clean and well stocked with linens, etc. We loved the convenience to downtown. Host was very responsive with communication. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

PROS: This apartment is in an excellent location if you want to be able to walk to town. It was great to just walk to eat and shop. The apartment was new and the kitchen well appointed. The bedrooms were comfortable furniture wise. Communication with the poperty manager was great. It was very clean. CONS: NOISE!!! This is the ground level of a house. People live upstairs. The bedroom is directly under a super super noisy room. Every night (into the wee hours of the night) the floor above was creaking, dog walking around, people talking...you can hear everything. The person woke up every morning by 6 am and it all started again. There was absolutely no sleeping past 6 am. This was by far louder than any hotel I have ever stayed at. The furniture in the sitting area is so small. My nephew is 6'2 (190) and had a hard time crunching himself into the chairs or sofa to watch TV, and even my sister and I (5'2 and 120) were uncomfortable. The bathroom is super small as well. It was okay for us, but if you are bigger people, this will not work for you. My nephew had to duck under the doorways. We actually left a day early because we all just wanted a good night's sleep after not sleeping for 4 days.

Condo was incredibly clean and comfortable. Had everything we needed. It is soo walkable to everything. Easy check in and check out.

Clean, well furnished apartment with efficient use of basement space. Only complaint is the ceiling not well insulated from upstairs noise. Between this and hard to adjust air conditioner had a hard time sleeping.

My sister and I spent 3 nights here and it was perfect. We are both senior citizens but could easily walk everywhere from this location. The beds are super comfortable and the linens and towels are the highest quality. Kitchen is modern and fully stocked. Bathroom is small but adequate. The living room furniture is also small to fit the space and not so great for lounging but fine for our purposes. I would definitely stay here again if I ever get back to the area.

Two things we noted. The space was a little tighter than we expected. For instance the bathroom is nice but real small. I'm only 6' tall and really felt it. The second thing was noise from upstairs almost all night. Heavy walking, things banging on the floor, a dog (?) running around. Probably should have expected with the name of the property, but thought I would mention it.

This property is in an outstanding location with convenient walking distance from most things you would want to do while visiting. Space is comfy and host was very responsive.

We had a wonderful stay while visiting a local art show and sharing time with old friends. The host was fabulous and the space was cozy, beautifully designed, and well appointed. The location is perfect as well. Very walkable to downtown. We'll definitely stay again.

We enjoyed our stay and how easy it was to get everywhere we wanted to be in downtown staunton. Other than driving to the train we walked everywhere it was very convenient
