To have my own door to walk out to the car and how clean the laundry room is

Clean room, helpful staff, but beverage machine not working.

3rd floor with no elevator, my husband has a prosthetic leg. Loud, people running around the outside halls all day & night. I was almost knocked down by a teenager. Dirty.

I like it had f stove and full size refrigerator what I didn't like was the power went out and they don't have a backup generator so it's been two and a half hours in dark

Convenient location, all of Hanes Mall immediately available. Laundry room accessible 24 hours is a convenient amenity. Ironing board and iron in the room completes the laundry self-service.

The thing I don’t like is they don’t have any diet sodas in the vending machine. I am diabetic and can not drink that stuff.

Plenty of stairs to walk up and plenty of uncleandd rooms you have to just let them know by holding their hands and showing this is not clean. Then you have to try to find a cleaner to get to your room to clean it. No you cant clean it on your own

This hotel is deceiving. It is quite comfortable with comfortable clean beds, clean shower and small but fine working TV. A refrigerator and small stove.Inwould rate this2.5- 3 star. Exactly what we needed most the time was spent outside the room.great price for overnight or short stay.

Staff was friendly and helpful but the property was worn and not well cleaned. The kitchens were not furnished and the rooms didn't have any dishes or coffe makers / electric kettles.

The property is great spacious and clean. Also wide parking spaces.

I love this hotel they are trying to fix it up. The tub was dirty and I woke up to a roach in the bathroom and the people next to me yelled all night and kept slamming doors

Room was dirty. Toilet didn’t flush. Bed was broken. Mold in the bathroom. Fire alarm was going off in the middle of the night.

When I checked into the hotel, I went to my room that had trash on the floor and in the trash cans along with open bars of soap and dirty towels strewn around. I was put in a separate room which was cleaner. The office closes at 11:00 PM and there was a dance party in the room above me until 3:30 AM. The next morning I discovered that there was not a shower curtain in the room and requested maintenance - after 3 attempts and 12 hours waiting, they told me if I wanted a shower curtain, I could pick one up at the office and install it myself. The area around the hotel is very sketchy along with the clientele that stays there. There was even a homeless encampment in the neighboring parking lot. My recommendation is to stay far away from this place.

Very friendly office staff but the housekeepers don’t mop

The bed was clean the floor was not swept or mopped and the bathroom was not cleaned at all sink had hair in it and dry toothpaste and the shower walls were very dirty and toilet and seat were filthy

The property is very nice, but there was trash bags everywhere full of trash. Bedding looked like there was smoke put out on it. Seems like whoever cleaned the room didn’t change out some of the bath towel which was damp and dirty before i touched it.

The staff is rude and not helpful. I stayed six days and my room was not cleaned one time. I had to go to the office to get toilet paper and towels. I had a leaking faucet in my bathtub that left water in tub resulting in mold. I would never stay here ever again. I requested a queen bed and was given 2 single beds. One night around 2am a hooker accidentally knocked on my door. There are drug dealers walking the property offering drugs. There were drug users constantly running in and out of the rooms. This was my birthday week and a friend paid for my trip. My whole trip was ruined. Do not stay here unless you have no other options!

THE ROOM WAS EXTREMELY NASTY AND DIRTY. BLACK BED-BUG CREATURES WERE CRAWLING ON TOP AND UNDER THE SHEETS, AND WHEN CALLED THEM TO MANAGER'S ATTENTION, HE RACED OVER THERE WITH NEW SHEETS TO GIVE US AND JUST SAID THAT THEY WERE MOSQUITOES. THE BUGS HAD BLOOD IN THEM WHEN KILLED AND I SHOWED A BUNCH THAT WE KILLED IN A PAPER TOWEL. GNATS AND FLIES WERE FLYING EVERYWHERE. THEY WERE EVEN ON THE FLOOR. THE ROOM WAS NOT SWEPT, MOPPED, OR CLEANED FOR A LONG TIME. THE FLOOR WAS NASTY WITH STICKY AND GRIMY FILM OVER IT. THE DOOR DOES NOT CLOSE ALL THE WAY SO DOG POOP SMELLS, AND SMOKE FROM SMOKERS ALONG WITH MORE GNATS AND FLIES HAD EASY ACCESS TO THE ROOM EVEN WITH A CLOSED DOOR. THE FIRST BED SHEETS WERE FILTHY, SOILED WITH URINE STAINS AND LOOKED LIKE THEY WERE NEVER CHANGED. THE REFRIGERATOR WAS STUCK CLOSED BECAUSE IT WAS NOT CLEAN AND WE HAD TO FORCE IT OPEN. THE FREEZER MADE LOUD NOISES. GNATS WERE FLYING AROUND IN THE REFRIGERATOR, AND IT NEVER CAME TO THE CORRECT TEMPERATURE. WE WERE GIVEN BLUE TOWELS AND WASHCLOTHS THAT RAN THE BLUE DYE OUT OF THEM WHEN WET OR USED, SO WE WENT TO BUY OUR OWN WHITE WASHCLOTHS AND TOWELS. THERE WAS NO WAY TO WALK UP TO THE SIDEWALK. WE HAD TO WALK THROUGH A GRAVEL TRAIL CAREFULLY TO ACCESS THE SIDEWALK FROM THE PARKING LOT. THERE WERE NO RAMP OR STAIRS FROM THE PARKING LOT TO GET TO YOUR ROOM. THE PLACE SHOULD NOT BE IN OPERATION. IT WAS THE MOST DISGUSTING PLACE THAT WE EVER STAYED. OBVIOUSLY, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

Compared to other one night stays, there is no coffee, not even a way to make my own instant coffee that I had brought, as there are no utensils. The room had a little wear and tear, but had been remodeled at some point, which was nice. Temperature, bed comfort were fine. Adequate for one night.

They put me next to a roomful of losers who apparently live there full time, with a nasty obscene sign on the door warning the world not to knock, who kept blaring loud obnoxious music LITERALLY all night to dawn. I couldn't sleep at all. STAY AWAY from this hole.

We liked the comfortable beds and pillows. When my friend asked for another blanket, she received it right away. Shower, fridge and microwave were clean. The hotel is far enough away from Hanes Mall Road so road noise is minimal. TV worked well. Unfortunately, we found the bathroom floor very dirty, and when we tried to check out Sunday morning, there was no one at the front desk. With several others, we pushed our key cards through the mail slot in the door and left.

The beds were hard as a rock did not get a good night rest only good part about the room was the stove and shower

Overall pretty good place to say for a cheap rate, besides the noise sometimes.

Enjoyed my night at Suburban Studios, needed a night to myself and was very pleased. Loved the layout of the room and the beds are comfy.

Check in went smoothly and our room ended up having a broken AC but the immediately fixed the problem.

Wonderful treasure. Management and Team Members are friendly and supportive!

The rooms are good for the price. Family stayed due to appointments at Baptist. Will definitely stay here again. Staff is friendly and helpful.

We found that the bathroom floor was quite dirty. Against the gray tiles, it wasn't obvious until we wiped up a spill and the cloth came up dark gray with dirt. Also, a bathroom fan would reduce humidity that results from a shower. On checking out, no one was in the office for some time. We finally wrapped our parking tag around the room keys and pushed them through the door's mail drop. Otherwise, the beds and pillows are comfy. My friend asked for another blanket and received one immediately. The shower is great with quick hot water and a nice strong stream. Plenty of towels.

Worst hotel ever, rude staff, smoke coming in through vents. The manager pretended to not be the manager to avoid rectifying anything. Never again.

Yea but told them bout the bug in my room what I woke up .told front desk bout it showed them a picture.was told I will hear from the manager and almost a week still haven't heard from them and when I call the put me on hold and hang up

Suburban Studios Winston Salem Hanes Mall was a clean and cozy place to stay. While breakfast and airport rides weren't included, the location near Hanes Mall was convenient. The staff were friendly, and the room was comfortable. Overall, a solid option for a stay in Winston Salem.

Homeless in area and drugs.

My band played in town. We met the front desk guy and he was awesome. We didn’t go to the room and went straight to the show. We arrived back at 3 am. Parking lot was full of drug dealers and prostitutes. There were used needles all over the ground in the parking lot. The door did not close properly and the air conditioning unit did not work properly. The room smelled like smoke and body odor. There was paper stuffed all into the smoke detector and the fire sprinkler. The sink would not stop running. The toilet seat had a bolt broken off of it, and it would not stay on the toilet. You could not lock the bathroom door. This was the worst experience I have ever had in a motel room. Stay away!!

Friendly staff, great price clean room and comfortable bed, conveniently located near Hanes Mall.

Why is this property even listed on Expoedia? DO NOT STAY HERE! We pulled up and there was a third world armed desperado in front of the lobby with enough ammunition top start a small war. That was the firdt sign this was not a safe place. All doors open to the exterior. There was a homeless encampment adjacent. We pulled down the covers to dind semen and pubic hairs on the sheets. We left - forfeited our night's charges and went to the Hampton. Just awful.

I stay at many cheap hotels during my work travels, this one has been the worst even though its not even the cheapest. Bedside Lights in my room didn’t work, there was dried black sputum on the clock on my side table, pieces of hair on towels. worst of all the fire alarm went off around 2:30am, extremely loud and anxiety inducing. I wouldn't recommend this place at all. Also, no coffee.
