Beautiful picturesque site on the shores of Lake fork. Very nice staff Good parking shop on site, plenty of shopping / eating options in town nearby. Very good value. The site and view make it so.

Boat ramp was very convenient. If you want TV or internet this isn't the place

Only thing is when the wifi went they did not get back up quickly

My stay was good considering it was a very last minute plan and on top of that I booked for the wrong night to begin with. The staff was extremely helpful with straightening out and working with me to resolve the issue. They didn't give me any hassle about it and accommodated my request. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean minus the floors needed to be swept and mopped. Which I find to be the case in most hotels. They do have a little cafe in the convenience store that serves all day. I didn't get to try it though. Overall, my stay was good and I slept like a log.

I read all the reviews for the past year and it was nearly a 50/50 split of people either loving it or hating it. One person complained immensely about the uncomfortable beds, another about the A/C, etc. We just stayed here over Easter weekend. It was totally fine! I wasn’t expecting the four seasons for $56 a night. Beds were comfortable, A/C worked well, rooms were clean overall, the staff was friendly. Only complaint I have is the $200 hold for a deposit on my room that was not mentioned. My card wasn’t charged and the hold was released, just surprised at the amount for such a simple place to stay. Walking distance to the lake, great parking and convenient. Would stay here again.

Tv did not work and cleanliness could be improved.

Stayed at loft on top of gas station Made for unique experience We got 8 kids Place had plenty beds and rooms...like a vrbo but quicker and easier. Staff is nice. Thanks yall

It's a fisherman's motel with a private ramp and lake access. The bed wasn't great, but we slept fine. The room was clean and A/C was cold. The store clerk and grounds keeper are both nice guys. They were helpful and polite and did want they could to make us comfortable.

the office area to check in as not open. mattress laying in the grass outside the rooms. toilet was not cleaned prior to arrival. would not recommend even for the low price

Parking was safe, switched rooms 3 times because of dirty bathrooms.

There was human Feces outside at the end of our hotel room. I rejected the first room it was dirty. Second room was a little better but could have been a lot better. Guy running the place was really nice but in my opinion he’s not getting what he needs to run it. The owner I heard lives in Dallas. I do have to say they did do some upgrades. They need extra help.Probably won’t stay there again. It’s a shame because it could be great like it was years ago.

We checked in. The room was a bit dirty, had spiders and webs in the ceiling and on the walls. At least we think the sheets were clean and the beds made. We put out spider traps so we could sleep. We also put in a room freshener. Probably musty because it was close to the lake. The clerk at the front desk is challenged with English, but we finally got settled.

When we walked in the room there was dead bugs on the floor so we checked the beds. They had bed bugs. They took us to another room in n a different building, they had dead bugs on the floor and bed bugs. I had the pictures to prove it. When the cleaning ladies came up, she looked like she was on drugs. We left. I would never recommend this place to no one.

We booked two rooms, when we first arrived we walked into the first room (23)it was still dirty from the previous visitors, bed was unmade and the key was still sitting on the bed, bathroom was dirty and had a dirty towel on the floor and urine in the toilet. We told the front dest and they assured us it would get taken care of. When the housekeeper came she didn’t bring any supplies just walked into the room empty handed and locked the door stayed for about half and hour and left. Sheets were not changed the entire weekend. All she did was make up the bed flush the toilet and took the dirty towel. The second room (27) there were dead and live roaches everywhere, even in the freezer, and the fridge was covered in mold, the sink was clogged and full of discolored water no towels or toilet paper. Again we told the front desk and the only thing that they did was unclog the sink.

The beds were like box springs. They wanted a $200 hold. The a/c sounded like a freight train. The blinds were missing the last 2 rows which left about a 2 inch gap at bottom. Had to go into bathroom to change clothes. No draw string so no way to lower the blinds. Just not very clean or organized.

Room wasn’t ready an hour after check-in time. Switched to another room and it was FILTHY. Bedding had an odor, all countertops in bathroom and kitchen were dirty. The floors had not been swept or mopped in quite some time and turned our white socks brown after 10 minutes of walking on them.

This is an old property, which is fine for camping. However, there were bugs in the bed and everything was dirty. I realize it's a camping area, but we weren't plannning on roughing it. Set your expectations low if you stay here so you arent disappointed. And check the beds.

Upon check in I was informed that a $200 deposit was required besides my full payment for the room. I was told it would be refunded at check out. The mattress was very hard and uncomfortable. The turn plate in the microwave was missing. I was told if I left before 8am to leave the key in the room, but since the microwave plate was missing I wanted to make sure I got my $200 deposit back and was not charged for it. I was at the store/office at 8 the following morning to find the doors locked. Another customer showed up and called several phone #s posted on the door. After about 15 minutes the same man from the night before showed up. He was walking down the street. I told him about the plate and requested my deposit back. He assured me it would be removed from my credit card by noon that day. Well it has been 2 days and the charge is still pending on my card. I just called and did not get an answer at the store/office. I left information to return my call. I will not be going back nor will I recommend them.

They have tried to update the property but it is just so old and smells old and musty. The walls are so thin we could hear every conversation on both sides of us. The window only has blinds and you could see our TV from the parking lot with the blinds closed. The deadbolt is very hard to lock. The people around us stayed up late outside talking. Their lights from their cars were in our window for hours. They put chairs on the porch and one was in front of our window facing our window when we got up the next morning. Not something you want to walk out and find. Our room was supposedly water front, but the water is too far away to be considered water front. Check in is 3:00, we got there at 5 and they didn’t have our room ready. I wasn’t sure if they even had my reservations the way he acted so confused when we wanted to check in. We booked 2 nights, but only stayed 1. The beds are not comfortable. We bought our own towels at DG because the towels were very thin and old and worn. They were clean and smelt clean but I just couldn’t use them. We used them as curtains instead. The shower was great! Water was hot and good pressure. The property is behind a gas station in a mobile home park.

Our stay at axtons was pleasant. We went for a fishing trip and stayed for 4 days. We stayed in duplex D. Two bed rooms, livingroom/kitchen area. Overall the rooms were very clean. My biggest complaint is that the beds in the rooms are TERRIBLE, not like oh i prefer a softer bed type bad but like i wouldnt even give it away for free sleeping onbthe ground was like sleeping on a cloud compared to theses beds. the beds are extremely old, worn out, 3 inches thick the bottom of the bunk bed was slanted in and ypu couldnt even breath without the entire frame squeaking. Honestly they are that bad. That being said, the kitchen had a coffee maker an apartment size fridge not a little mini fridge, and a hot plate. At the initial booking there were some issues with a pet fee for our service dog, which was handle very well by the owner/manager. Once we arrived to check in the staff memeber requested proof that our dog was a service dog in order to waive the pet fee. Our dog is registered and i showed him this, but explained that legally a service dog does not have to be registered nor does a handler have to provide proof of a service animal and let him know i had already spoken to management about our service dog. All ways good after that. The place is a little run down looking on the outside but inside was updated, alittle. This place has alot of room for growth. Simple updates such as better mattresses, and kitchen cookware would go a long way.

The mattresses were awful. The door knob came off in my husband hand when he opened the door. The rooms were clean and the lady in the store was very nice.

Check in was barely simple at the gas station directed me where I had to go to our room went to our room. You can tell they have done some remodeling fresh paint new counters. There was unusual smell wasn’t bad wasn’t good. Can determine it small full size fridge things that we needed in the evenings when we were done with our activities, the beds were very uncomfortable and they were not attached to the headboards so every time you moved the headboards banged against the wall and so didn’t our neighbors on either side it was adequate for what we were doing as a family and fishing trip Would recommend based off a cost

Beds not that comfy. Pillows to flat, sheets too thin, no blanket, crappy Wi-Fi. My room had an old heat/air unit that rattled all night due to the age and it was falling apart

I had a 5 night stay booked and bad weather only let me fish for 2days. They let me cancel the other 3 days and let me rebook them to a later date in the same year. Most people won’t let you do that thanks to the owners

Avoid at all costs! My experience here was terrible. The customer service was rude and unhelpful. The first room I was given was absolutely disgusting—when I brought it to their attention and even showed proof, I was met with disbelief. They reluctantly moved me to another room but refused to issue a refund, leaving me stuck unless I wanted to forfeit the inflated cost. I slept on top of the covers and got out of there as fast as possible. To make things worse, the price was double what was advertised, just because of a small fishing tournament with fewer than 40 boats. Save yourself the trouble and book anywhere else.

Had no cell service so when we got there at 9:30pm no one there to check us in everything closed up. Drove 30 minutes up the road to get another hotel, then find out the next morning when I have cell service you have to check in by 8. They supposedly left the room open but without cell service I had no idea. Very frustrating!!!!

Room was not ready, on time, staff was lost and unprepared. It seemed like they had just opened up for this one event. Poor English, Double booked our room making other guests wait another hour to check in to a different room. I recommend Reels inn! Top notch! American owned!

It was great only issue was we needed clean towels and never brought some we had to move microwave near a plug to use but place was really nice.

Good stop, central location

Property was relatively well maintained. Beautiful lake with some seating. A large group would need to bring some extra chairs or a few blankets, A great spot to sit & watch the sunset. I always bring my own cleaning supplies where ever I go, but the room was pretty clean. Only issue was with the water. It was very hard and had a heavy smell. Get enough bottled water to last through your stay & If you have sensitive skin bring plenty of lotion. That being said, I would definitely go back, the staff & the locals were very friendly.

It was very comfortable for my family and dogs. The AC was wonderful in this Texas heat. Clean and comfy and quiet. Quick walk to the water and the convenience store was very convenient.

Seems like an amazing place for a weekend at the lake. Not a good spot for passersby’s. I could see most people not enjoying it but I think it’s a great place for a weekend at the lake. Expect a stay here to be a bit above camping.

Property is in great need of updates. Cabintey is very dirty and old, counters. Sparsely supplied kitchen. Spare room has nice beds, but main bedroom mattress is very out of date. Twin bed in main room has no support under it and collapses. Bedding is old, stained and even dirty on several beds. Put a little money into updating and making more comfortable and it could be a great place to stay. Should note that suite is located above the store. Bring your own coffee, non provided. Restaurant was out of almost everything available on the menu. Although staff tried to be nice, it should not have been open for service. Wanted to love this place. I grew up coming here and we visit often and have been looking for a place to stay that we can keep coming back to. This won’t be it.

The attendant was accommodating and kind when we didn't like the first room he showed us. (It looked nothing like the photo). He offered us another, so we took it. It was just ok. Paid $50 for a pet fee (two nights) yet there was animal hair all over the sofa and the round dining table. Cleaning of window sills, dusting, corners was needed. Surrounding area was nice. Location great. It was ok.

We got there to check in for a 4 night stay and our total bill for 3 nights with taxes and everythingnwas $235. Thhey charged us #200 for incidental fees. This is a place on a very popular fishingnlake where LARGE bass are caught so people that typically stay here are there just to sleep and showernand charge their batteries for their trolling motors. We get in and the sugar they have to use for the coffee is from WHATABURGER!!!! They dont even get sugar to put in the rooms. The final thing that was most rainingnone day so we were in around 2 PM waiting for the rain to pass. All of a sidden someone walks in the room, no knock, nothing just walks in and then looks up and sees us and says "Oh sorry" turns around and walks out. The rooms also had a very strange odor. Almost like a bad incense smell that had been burning in there or just not something that was pleasant to the nose. We got some febreeze and sprayed everythingndown to help with the overall smell. When we return we will find another place to stay.
