Excellent hotel. Absolutely excellent service and very comfortable and clean. The rooms and bathrooms are amazing and worth it, we will be returning. However, the SPA WAS HORRIBLE!!! Waste of money. It was clean but the massage and body scrub should not even be considered a "massage and scrub". It did not last as long as it claimed it would, and 2/3 of the service consisted of being rubbed by hot towels. The scrub was weak and extremely overpriced, along with the massage which barely lasted 20 minutes (when both services were supposed to last 50 minutes). Paid $550 for 2 people . Overall, we are very upset with spa service and will not be going there again.

Excellent stay. Great location. Ocean view room was beautiful and very comfortable. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was very good. Had fabulous massages at the spa! Will definitely come back.

Buyer beware. Tiny staff is first rate in trying to provide a quality experience but facilities are inadequate. Surprised to find out there is no regular tv service. Only bizarre Samsung tv. TVs are too old to be compatible with iPhones so no chance to mirror. Staff apologetic but “owners” not willing to provide basic cable. No indoor facilities to gather to have breakfast. If it is cool or cold they are happy to provide blankets. Truly amazing. There are heaters but not really sufficient. No dressers or shelves in the room so no way to unpack unless you lay stuff across the floor.

The Carmel Beach Hotel is located south of Ocean Ave. it is one block from the beach in a beautiful neighborhood. The hotel itself is well appointed and very clean. Nice bar and breakfast served on the patio. It could improve the TV cable selection and the water flow is too restrictive.

This quaint beauty is off the beaten downtown path, close to the beach and walkable to the sand. Everything about this resort makes us wish to return. The only confusing element is the promise of a downtown shuttle yet on the night we stayed, the day of the Car week exhibition, their shuttle was being serviced and was never available. Why this was the timing and no alternate arrangement was made is puzzling to be sure. The e-bikes are a wonderful feature but in need of service. Carmel is extremely hilly and riding into town was a challenge even with the e-bikes. The rooms are beautifully appointed, the grounds are lovely and well maintained. Staff responsive to our requests to light firepit and use bikes. We plan to return next summer.

Underwhelming & Overpriced - Not 'Pet Friendly' We booked Carmel Beach Hotel because it was listed as pet friendly and looked great. Unfortunately, that description is totally misleading. They charged $273 for a dog ($250 pet fee + tax on the pet fee) with zero amenities or effort to make us feel welcome. No water bowl, treats, or pet-friendly vibe—just a HUGE extra charge. I wasn’t aware of the huge pet fee when booking, and when I was informed and asked to cancel, the manager said we’d be charged for one of our two nights. Not great customer service. The room was good-sized and had a soaking tub, but the water pressure was low, the carpet was dingy, and the noise level was unacceptable—you can hear everything: conversations, rolling suitcases over the bricks, even raccoons fighting outside over the garbage. Room 6 is especially bad as it's right above housekeeping/maintenance. Also, the window coverings don’t block light, so I had an early wake-up call from the sun. The property is okay, but the “lawn” is fake plastic turf. The beach is close, but if you want to walk to town, it’s 15–20 minutes in the dark—no sidewalks or streetlights. They did offer a car service until 9:45PM. Bottom line: it’s not pet-friendly, not welcoming and relaxing, and definitely not worth the price. There are much, much nicer hotels in Carmel for this price point. Wouldn't stay again

Carmel Beach Hotel was perhaps one of the favorite places I've stayed!! The rooms were lovely, clean, and comfortable, and every staff member was an absolute joy to chat with. If you need a place to stay in Carmel, I don't think you'll find something better.

Great location and very good quality hotel. The shower pressure was almost non-existant, which made it very difficult to wash hair. It was also difficult to get hot water; only warm at best.

Very clean and beautifully decorated. They need to turn off the bright light on the mini fridge and somehow dim the light on the thermostat. Delicious breakfast can be order in the room.

We had a lovely stay here. The staff were extremely helpful and very kind! I loved the hotel is off the Main Street area so it was nice and quiet. The bed was comfy, and I am a super picky sleeper. We did notice the water pressure was not good in the shower but the new remodel is aesthetically pleasing. Overall a great stay!

The staff is awesome. Our difficulties were with the bathroom. The tub would not drain and a repair man was called to fix it. The water in the shower is barely a trickle and comes from a non-movable shower head. So, getting the soap off my body was near impossible. Also, only one hook in the bathroom. No place to hang more than a single towel.

Property and room were pristine. Immediately greeted at check-in by Natalie, as Rafi served my wife and I a complimentary drink during check-in. Centrally located near shops and restaurants. We will definitely return.

i could hear the gentle lull of the ocean waves as i fell asleep. i could watch the sunset over the ocean from my room. great breakfast brought to the room each morning. fantastic, luxurious bathroom. friendly staff. really a great place!

This unique hotel is nestled in a wonderful Carmel residential neighborhood very close to the beach. Our room had an ocean view above the roof line of houses across the street. The staff was amazing and the hotel was cozy and welcoming. We had a balcony where we could sit and enjoy the morning view of the ocean and the evening sunset. Also a fireplace in our room and a very comfortable bed. Highly recommend the Carmel Beach Hotel.

Location is incredible and the hotel and grounds are very nice, as were the staff! Would have been perfect except for the location of our room. We had a small ground level room that faced a small Tree covered courtyard, people would walk right by our window to get to the next building, so we didn't have any privacy and if we closed the shades it was dark and encapsulating. Would recommend some secondary shades that allow light in but provide privacy. There were some string lights in the little courtyard as well that would shine in the windows all night, were told they were on a timer, though I don't believe they ever turned off at night. I wish we had asked for a different room. At checkout I needed to pull up my original booking receipt to have them charge me the accurate resort fees previously agreed to. I would absolutely stay here again however! would just be mindful of my room location next time.

Not walking distance to downtown Carmel. (20-30 minute walk uphill.) 1) Be aware that this property does not have a parking spot for all of their rooms so if you return after they are full you are on your own for parking your car. 2)The television in my room did not work properly taking two or three attempts to select anything. I gave up. 3)The rooms have nice big windows for lots of light but they really limit privacy as other guests walk close to the windows.

Great spot, okay service, staff needs training. This was a splurge for us we were expecting a red carpet rollout - and the staff was accommodating but - my mom requested a bathtub room shortly after booking - it was confirmed the room we got included that. Day of we get there - neither room has it. We do a switch and swap and end up getting told rather firmly we'll be charged for a cleaning fee due to a room that was occupied needing to be cleaned up. Overall the feeling from the staff and managers on this was that we had mad a mistake not them. Which frankly felt bad. Otherwise it was great little spot - 1 block up and around the corner from the stairs on the beach. Not on the water but as close as you can get basically. They had ebikes which was a cool perk, although they did seem outdated. Still super fun! Didn't get a chance to try out the gym. Some pros were they were super chill about the service animal. And overall the place had good vibes. Just the mixup at the beginning left a sour taste the whole stay. They need to take customer service classes, including the manger herself... Wasn't Bad, Wasn't great..

The fireplace in our room did not work, and every day we asked them to fix while receiving promises that it will. Never happened during the 4 nights we were there. This was annoying as we paid extra to find a place with a fireplace. What's worse, is that the fireplace spontaneously turned on sometime during night which woke us up due to the intense heat (~2:30am during the 2nd night there). We couldn't turn off the fireplace and there was no one available to help. We couldn't sleep with the heat and the air conditioning turned on wasn't strong enough to help. Next day they had maintenance go in to find a way to turn it off. The management was unresponsive to requests to correct or compensate us for the uncomfortable stay.

The staff here was top tier!! Everyone was so nice, friendly, and helpful. The room was perfect and the beach was right there. They also gave us welcome drinks and had complimentary mocktails each day and little snacks. Their popcorn was delicious!! They also offer turn down service each night and left cookies for us in our room. Breakfast was a separate charge and depended on what you got. For breakfast they have the option to have it delivered to the room or you can eat it outside in their seating area which is also really nice! Overall we loved our stay and cannot wait to come back!!

Nathalie at the front desk was super warm and knowledgeable. Hotel offers complementary transportation around town (Dennis was very professional) , which made going into town much easier (parking can be hard to find on Ocean ave). Carmel Beach Hotel exceeded my expectations. Will definitely be back for a longer stay next time!

This property is located south of Ocean Ave in Carmel. One block away from the beach. The hotel is well appointed. Quiet. Has a bar and the breakfast in the morning is very good. Parking is easy. A nice brisk walk will take you to downtown Carmel.

This place is literally less than a block away from the beach. The beach walk is very scenic and beautiful. Also included a shuttle to ocean ave and a gym. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms themselves were just OK, however it had a great view and Nescafe in them. An OK room with great coffee and a stellar view. I'll take that. Lol

Very nice property, I would definitely stay here again. I didn’t enjoy all the amenities because this was a business trip but it seemed very well thought out. Loved the boutique feel of the property. The room service breakfast was delicious.

Wonderful stay at the Carmel Beach Hotel. Rooms felt brand new with great amenities. Loved the included in-room breakfast dining option. Perfect location, 1 block from the beach and with their complimentary Mercedes shuttle sedan, getting downtown and back at night time was so convenient.

Wonderful property with excellent attentive staff in a perfect location (1 block off Carmel Beach and walkable to town center). Car available to drop and pickup as well. Wonderful included breakfast service. The ONLY negative is we found wine, beer, and specialty coffee drinks to be overpriced. Loved it and will return!

Beautiful property, nicely updated feels like a european hotel by the sea, modern rooms and bathroom. Kind staff, quiet , easy to walk to downtown carmel. Great breakfast and it was my birthday and they provided complementary champagne.

Amazing location close to the Ocean for morning walks! Tasty breakfast with you stay! Super modern clean room great parking! Temperature in the room was a little hard to set. We had a window that couldn’t close so a draft in the bathroom. Also, the front door had a bit of a gap underneath also had a draft! Definitely would stay again!

This was a great hotel. We loved it for our anniversary stay in Carmel. Breakfast in our room every day. then long walks along the beach to town. We have stayed in Carmel many times- this was the best.

This hotel was really unfortunate as the location is spectacular. The staff was less than helpful and tea and coffee service in the morning was always late. The worst part of the stay was NO water pressure for the first two days and it took 20 minutes to get hot water. I couldn’t shower or wash hair for 2 days due to water pressure. The staff wasn’t trained in making a simple pot of tea. Unfortunately I will never return.

This hotel is incredibly overpriced… it is in no way near a luxury hotel worth the $700 they charged. When we first arrived to check in, the receptionist was on her phone outside, and she saw me walk into the office. After 10 minutes she finally came to check me in, and without so much as a “sorry to keep you waiting”. The beds are way, way too soft - gave all three of us back pain. An area of carpet in one of our rooms was very wet, perhaps due to a leak from a noisy refrigerator that kept us awake. We had to leave a day early, as our daughter who was traveling with us developed a serious medical situation that required us to return home so she could see her cardiologist. We explained the situation and were instructed to send an email to management, which is what I did. That went nowhere. I can understand why they may not have been able to offer a refund, however they never even followed up with a credit for a future stay. Two other hotels that we had to cancel for that trip due to our family medical situation actually gave full refunds, which was honestly more than I expected. Not surprisingly, we are already planning on when to rebook at those hotels when we are next in the area.
