We came to Pacific Grove for the cool weather walking. In 3 weeks we walked 104 miles. This house is 3 blocks from the bay. Walked to the aquarium one day and Asilomar the next. Pacific Grove is a nice town. The house is small but nicely organized. Comfortable beds, great kitchen, driveway parking. Close to restaurants and coffeehouses. We went to Fandango twice. Great trip.

Family with 2 older teens stayed for 3 weeks, escaping the AZ heat. Absolutely adorable home. Kitchen is nicely redone and modern. It is an original old house. Perfect location for us. Steps to the market and two great restaurants. A block down to the main road and lots of places to eat and shop right there. Out kids loved being able to walk and get sushi whenever they wanted. Then just a few more blocks down the hill to Lovers Point/Beach and the trail that goes to Monterey. We walked a short distance toward Monterey every evening and say 15-20 sea otters right off shore very active. Walked to the aquarium one day. Could use new more supportive mattresses. It can be a little noisy from the people Al walking by/deliveries to the store and restaurants and the fire station is right at the corner but it didn’t keep us awake. Loved having the parking in the driveway! Eve had a family of deer between our car and the garbage cans one evening. I walked to yoga from the house as well. The outside room could be a fun place to hang out but it is just too musty/milldewy to enjoy it. But we didn’t need that. It was a wonderful way to enjoy the area and the weather.

Overall this is a really nice little house. Quirky like older houses can be. Location is terrific and walkable to shops, restaurants and the coast. The heat does come from a floor vent that gets really hot so be careful with kids and pets. My only gripe isn’t with the house at all. We had asked multiple times if we could check in early due to the lengthy drive we had. The first request was responded to saying we had to ask the day of check in. If you have a long drive you can’t really ask the day of. Otherwise it’s a cute, well maintained house.

Sanctuary rentals is known to us as representing premier properties; we were not disappointed. The location could not have been more ideal. We were able to walk to the choicest restaurants and enjoyed the proximity to the shore as well. Parking was a big plus too. We found the two bedroom, one and a half bath suitable . The kitchen was so well stocked and the appliances were first rate! We did not utilize the detached family room.Our stay was enhanced by the comforts of this rental.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Had problems first night heater would NOT heat up. House is very old has a very old heater in the floor. Like from the 40s No kidding It needs be on at all times to heat house. House has portable floor heaters in both bedrooms and living room. We knew there was going to be problems. Bathroom lights did NOT work had to go to fuse box. Came home from dinner house was cold. Someone before us had messed up the thermostat on the heater. Problem again if you use the portable heaters they use too much power, and it blows the fuse in bedroom living room and again in shower room. Twice had to go to fuse box to get power back on. Nice gentleman came next day from Sanctuary and fixed thermostat. Fuse box needs to be redone by an electrician. And the thermostat needs to be placed in kitchen. Kitchen only gets half h the heat and the porch shower room gets no heat at all. When you come out of the shower you will always be cold. Kind of weird they only give you one bath towel for six days stay. Location is great walk to restaurants and beach, but I would never rent this property again. Especially at $600 a night have stayed previously in Lavender House and Pelican Peak with no problems lost a whole day dealing with heater problem.

This property was in excellent condition even though it was built around 1893. The outside of the house was kept true to the time of its construction, but the inside was completely remodeled and updated, especially the kitchen and dining area. The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of everything needed to prepare and serve a meal. The decor of the house was lovely, especially the stained glass window in the living room. It was a very comfortable and inviting place to stay. The location of the house was wonderful. We were close to downtown and lots of dining venues. We enjoyed sitting outside at the Monarch Pub, just down the street from us, and watching the activity around us. It was very relaxing. The full bathroom was located on the back porch and was somewhat inconvenient, but it worked out okay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this charming house in Pacific Grove. The location (one block up from Lighthouse) can’t be beat, as it is also an easy walk to Lover’s Point. We enjoyed family games of Foosball and the outdoor interior courtyard was great for enjoying the sun in the afternoon. The house was clean and well-stocked with a great shower. Highly recommend!

This property was in excellent condition even though it was built around 1893. The outside of the house was kept true to the time of its construction, but the inside was completely remodeled and updated, especially the kitchen and dining area. The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of everything needed to prepare and serve a meal. The decor of the house was lovely, especially the stained glass window in the living room. It was a very comfortable and inviting place to stay. The location of the house was wonderful. We were close to downtown and lots of dining venues. We enjoyed sitting outside at the Monarch Pub, just down the street from us, and watching the activity around us. It was very relaxing. The full bathroom was located on the back porch and was somewhat inconvenient, but it worked out okay.

This bright happy cottage was a source of solace after busy days hiking with friends. We played games after dinner around the big table. I took my dog on lots of walks to the oceanside at Lover's Point. The house has lots of character, high ceilings, big windows, bright colors. A great location. Easy parking. Everything you need for a comfy stay, quirky layout but it all works out. Way more spacious than expected. Thank you!

Perfect location to walk to restaurants? Beach etc. Gorgeous. Since it was in a mixed residential/commercial there was more very early am noise (street sweepers trash trucks 5:30 am). Still loved it.

The sweet house had a great location with comfortable beds, a well stocked kitchen, spacious dining room and so nice to have 2 bathrooms! We were within walking distance to a great trail along the Bay and some very good restaurants and coffee/bookstore. Since we came in an EV, there were Level 2 EV chargers right across the street. Also great communication with managers. Would come again!

Overall this is a really nice little house. Quirky like older houses can be. Location is terrific and walkable to shops, restaurants and the coast. The heat does come from a floor vent that gets really hot so be careful with kids and pets. My only gripe isn’t with the house at all. We had asked multiple times if we could check in early due to the lengthy drive we had. The first request was responded to saying we had to ask the day of check in. If you have a long drive you can’t really ask the day of. Otherwise it’s a cute, well maintained house.

Like from the 40s No kidding It needs be on at all times to heat house. House has portable floor heaters in both bedrooms and living room. We knew there was going to be problems. Bathroom lights did NOT work had to go to fuse box. Came home from dinner house was cold. Someone before us had messed up the thermostat on the heater. Problem again if you use the portable heaters they use too much power, and it blows the fuse in bedroom living room and again in shower room. Twice had to go to fuse box to get power back on. Nice gentleman came next day from Sanctuary and fixed thermostat. Fuse box needs to be redone by an electrician. And the thermostat needs to be placed in kitchen. Kitchen only gets half h the heat and the porch shower room gets no heat at all. When you come out of the shower you will always be cold. Kind of weird they only give you one bath towel for six days stay. Location is great walk to restaurants and beach, but I would never rent this property again. Especially at $600 a night have stayed previously in Lavender House and Pelican Peak with no problems lost a whole day dealing with heater problem.

We came to Pacific Grove for the cool weather walking. In 3 weeks we walked 104 miles. This house is 3 blocks from the bay. Walked to the aquarium one day and Asilomar the next. Pacific Grove is a nice town. The house is small but nicely organized. Comfortable beds, great kitchen, driveway parking. Close to restaurants and coffeehouses. We went to Fandango twice. Great trip.

Family with 2 older teens stayed for 3 weeks, escaping the AZ heat. Absolutely adorable home. Kitchen is nicely redone and modern. It is an original old house. Perfect location for us. Steps to the market and two great restaurants. A block down to the main road and lots of places to eat and shop right there. Out kids loved being able to walk and get sushi whenever they wanted. Then just a few more blocks down the hill to Lovers Point/Beach and the trail that goes to Monterey. We walked a short distance toward Monterey every evening and say 15-20 sea otters right off shore very active. Walked to the aquarium one day. Could use new more supportive mattresses. It can be a little noisy from the people Al walking by/deliveries to the store and restaurants and the fire station is right at the corner but it didn’t keep us awake. Loved having the parking in the driveway! Eve had a family of deer between our car and the garbage cans one evening. I walked to yoga from the house as well. The outside room could be a fun place to hang out but it is just too musty/milldewy to enjoy it. But we didn’t need that. It was a wonderful way to enjoy the area and the weather.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this charming house in Pacific Grove. The location (one block up from Lighthouse) can’t be beat, as it is also an easy walk to Lover’s Point. We enjoyed family games of Foosball and the outdoor interior courtyard was great for enjoying the sun in the afternoon. The house was clean and well-stocked with a great shower. Highly recommend!

Reviewer Comments: We had a delightful stay at the Sweet Seventeenth Street house--an adorable, historic, quirky and comfortable place that has everything you need. The photos are accurate--cozy living room, spacious kitchen/dining area, and outside, 2 fenced-in seating areas. We didn't use the separate little addition (w/couch, TV, games) since there were just 2 of us. Sanctuary Vacations was great to work with: I had to have an important package delivered, and they very nicely held it for me at their main office in Carmel. The location of this rental is perfect, with lots of restaurants and stores (including a great bookstore) within easy walking distance. Reviewer Comments: We had a delightful stay at the Sweet Seventeenth Street house--an adorable, historic, quirky and comfortable place that has everything you need. The photos are accurate--cozy living room, spacious kitchen/dining area, and outside, 2 fenced-in seating areas. We didn't use the separate little addition (w/couch, TV, games) since there were just 2 of us. Sanctuary Vacations was great to work with: I had to have an important package delivered, and they very nicely held it for me at their main office in Carmel. The location of this rental is perfect, with lots of restaurants and stores (including a great bookstore) within easy walking distance.
