What a gem! The location of Cliff's Edge is the true winner but everything here is top notch! I just stayed in the lodge, but the room was perfect.....decor, fireplace, kitchenette. And loved the shared sauna....wow. I ate a small meal and desert at Forager and food was terrific. Highly recommend to stay here.

Location of this property is amazing, with a private patio, spa & sauna + a breathtaking view of Witless Bay. Bright, clean and comfortable living space. Great restaurants nearby. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it! Only downside was communication: staff on site were quick to respond to an issue, but responsiveness over text (which is their suggested means of communication) is slow and inconsistent. Not a huge issue for us, but it would have made our experience seamless.

Great location! Love that there is a restaurant on site. Room is clean and decorated nicely. Love the electric fireplace and the use of the Sauna outside for all guests. Rooms are quiet at night for sleeping with an extremely comfortable bed. Coffeemaker / fridge and microwave in room. Would stay again.

My husband and I stayed at the Cliffs Edge Resort for a single night. It was located in a secluded, and peaceful area on the coast with a great view. The room was stunning, with large windows overlooking the water. It was also stocked well, and I appreciated the attention to detail. It was like being at home, but with the amazing view. Everything we could possibly need to make our stay comfortable was made available right in the room. The Forage restaurant was nice but we found the pricing to be a little expensive given such a small menu. There were only two mains to choose from. It was the most expensive dinner bill during our one week tour of the Avalon. Otherwise we are happy with the stay, just wished the restaurant wasn’t so expensive provided we didn’t have too many other options for dining nearby.

We could sit on the deck looking at the views and listening to the ocean for hours. The cabin was very clean and had all necessities. Staff was very quick to respond to any questions or concerns. We would 100% stay again.

This cabin is pretty close to perfect. The private sauna is spectacular. The private deck and hot tub are outstanding. The cabin itself is cosy and incredibly well appointed, down to binoculars and games. The only thing that was missing is a patio heater. We would have liked to stay outside and look at the millions of stars for longer but it gets pretty chilly at night.

I stay here often facilities, and the view is overwhelmingly nice. Staff is friendly but no amenities if you go on the first of the week or in thr off-season restaurant bar area is closed only open on the weekends if you’re looking for a getaway don’t book on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday..

Beautiful property and room. We loved the sauna too! Luckily we arrived on a night when the dining room was open (and it was delicious) but it wasn't open for the rest of the days we were there. There's not much directly around the property so you would need to drive to restaurants, groceries, hiking trails etc. But well worth it!

Staff were very welcoming. We stayed for 5 days and the place was beautiful with a gorgeous view of the ocean from the room. Restaurant was great that’s attached. 100% recommend! Rooms were lovely and clean.

Absolutely beautiful hotel! The view out our lodge-room window was spectacular. The room itself was large and very well-appointed, with a full kitchenette. Be aware that they do not include breakfast or maid service. The location is quiet and great for hiking and exploring the Irish Loop and Avalon coast, while still only about an hour from St. John's. We loved it and had a wonderful stay! (and yes, we did see whales in the harbor right out our window!)

We loved our stay at Cliffs Edge Retreat! It is a beautiful ocean side resort with its main lodge and restaurant (Forager) and collection of cottages. It is conveniently located around 45 minutes from St. John's and only 30 minutes from Ferryland. We stayed in the main lodge in an ocean view studio suite, which was modern and beautifully decorated. The full kitchen was very well equipped, which we appreciated as we prepared several meals during our two night stay. Our end unit suite (L12) was located across from the laundry room and next to the exit door to the outdoor sauna, so we did hear some noise at times, but it wasn't too bothersome. Our balcony had a beautiful view of the ocean, but it was partially obstructed by one of the oceanfront cottages across the road. Suites L5, L7 and L9 would likely have the best balcony views and are located far enough away from the entrance doors on both ends of the hallway. There is a limited menu at the Forager Restaurant (which you will walk past to access your room). We didn't have a meal there, but their baked goods and coffee were excellent.

The place itself is very nice and the rooms are modern and well equipped. Unfortunately the advertising is a bit misleading. Most of the photos show rooms with hot tubs and a great view. Unfortunately those are cabins and should be clearly labeled as such. The room we got had no veiw and no hot tub. There is a shared sauna but no hot tub shared or otherwise. This was a disappointing to walk into, when one expecting a view. This needs to be clarified when one is booking a room.

The Cliffs Edge Retreat is a beautiful spot to just get away from it all. The rooms provide a quiet and relaxing atmosphere, with all the comforts from home. The oceanview is spectacular. There are Adirondack chairs on your own deck. Barriers provide privacy from the neighbors and a shelter from the wind. There is a small kitchen equipped to cook adn has a full size fridge, (if you want to do that on vacation). There isnt a lot of options for breakfast, so I'd recommend bringing breakfast items. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer.

The room was very large, with a most comfortable K size bed. Easy to adjust room temp, everything we needed was in the room. Spacious modern bathroom. View was lovely of the cove and rocks and we left the door open (nice screen door) to the balcony so we could hear the waves at night. The Comforter kept us warm! Only issue was waiting over 20 min to be checked in as there was no one at the desk or in the lobby/cafe area. Beware of construction coming from the West, lost an hour getting there. Great location to quickly get to the Whale and Puffin Cruises. We chose Gatheralls and were very pleased.

Lovely property with terrific view. Room had balcony with the famous red Adirondack chairs, full kitchen. Unfortunately, the front desk is only sporadically staffed and the email we were told contained wifi password and details about after hours entry to building did not arrive, nor was this info provided via Expedia. We were never lucky enough to be at the hotel when staff was available, so some confusion there.

We had trouble finding the office at first. It is at the Forager restaurant. The rooms were great, large, comfortable and modern. Parking was easy. Staff was very friendly. They were very amenable. They gave the room we booked away but upgraded us to a room with a view. (Unfortunately there was a hydro pole in the middle of our view.) Dinner at the Forage restaurant was great. The only downside was the cost of the prepared sandwiches which we bought the next day for lunch (43 dollars for a smallish baguette sandwich with Brie, and another Caprese one with tomato and cheese). All things considered, it was a great stay and we would recommend staying there.

Staff were very welcoming. We stayed for 5 days and the place was beautiful with a gorgeous view of the ocean from the room. Restaurant was great that’s attached. 100% recommend! Rooms were lovely and clean.

The issues we had with our stay were Expedia’s fault. The room in the pictures when we booked were NOT the same as what we got. Be sure to clarify your room view before you pay. We had a view of the propane tanks. The hotel has no amenities itself, like a lobby, and you entered through a restaurant. Just a terrible letdown.

The hotel was spotless,clean and friendly. I was disappointed with the room, it had no access to outside, just a small window. Only the more expensive rooms had balconies. We arrived in St. John’s and drove over 3 hours to get to the hotel in dense fog and there was no one to greet us. No access to food. Everything was locked up very disappointing.

Absolutely beautiful hotel! The view out our lodge-room window was spectacular. The room itself was large and very well-appointed, with a full kitchenette. Be aware that they do not include breakfast or maid service. The location is quiet and great for hiking and exploring the Irish Loop and Avalon coast, while still only about an hour from St. John's. We loved it and had a wonderful stay! (and yes, we did see whales in the harbor right out our window!)

Views were gorgeous, right on the ocean. Sauna with oceanview was an extra treat. Imcredibly neat and clean and very friendly staff!!! Excellent from the moment we arrived! Walking trail to LaManche Suspension Bridge was incredible!

We loved our stay at Cliffs Edge Retreat! It is a beautiful ocean side resort with its main lodge and restaurant (Forager) and collection of cottages. It is conveniently located around 45 minutes from St. John's and only 30 minutes from Ferryland. We stayed in the main lodge in an ocean view studio suite, which was modern and beautifully decorated. The full kitchen was very well equipped, which we appreciated as we prepared several meals during our two night stay. Our end unit suite (L12) was located across from the laundry room and next to the exit door to the outdoor sauna, so we did hear some noise at times, but it wasn't too bothersome. Our balcony had a beautiful view of the ocean, but it was partially obstructed by one of the oceanfront cottages across the road. Suites L5, L7 and L9 would likely have the best balcony views and are located far enough away from the entrance doors on both ends of the hallway. There is a limited menu at the Forager Restaurant (which you will walk past to access your room). We didn't have a meal there, but their baked goods and coffee were excellent.

This place is a great place to stay if you are visiting Newfoundland. Everything is awesome, the parking lot is so convenient, the view is stunning, the cottage is super clean, and the backyard is beautiful spot to catch sunrise. I really like the this cottage is also equipped with kitchen that allowed me to cook dinner and breakfast - FYI make sure you buy enough ingredients as grocery store is hard to locate and far. Highly recommend this place in Tor Cove - the environment is so relaxing and the town view is magical

The unit we stayed in was perfect. Even better than the photos. Well equipped, very well thought out, wonderfully clean, and stunning views. The email checkin method couldn't make things easier (and included lots of helpful info such as nearby hiking trails). If we hadn't gone to the main building/restaurant (Forager, which was also fantastic) we wouldn't have seen anyone else around for our whole stay.

My husband and I stayed at the Cliffs Edge Resort for a single night. It was located in a secluded, and peaceful area on the coast with a great view. The room was stunning, with large windows overlooking the water. It was also stocked well, and I appreciated the attention to detail. It was like being at home, but with the amazing view. Everything we could possibly need to make our stay comfortable was made available right in the room. The Forage restaurant was nice but we found the pricing to be a little expensive given such a small menu. There were only two mains to choose from. It was the most expensive dinner bill during our one week tour of the Avalon. Otherwise we are happy with the stay, just wished the restaurant wasn’t so expensive provided we didn’t have too many other options for dining nearby.

I stay here often facilities, and the view is overwhelmingly nice. Staff is friendly but no amenities if you go on the first of the week or in thr off-season restaurant bar area is closed only open on the weekends if you’re looking for a getaway don’t book on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday..

Beautiful property and room. We loved the sauna too! Luckily we arrived on a night when the dining room was open (and it was delicious) but it wasn't open for the rest of the days we were there. There's not much directly around the property so you would need to drive to restaurants, groceries, hiking trails etc. But well worth it!

This property is amazing!! The rooms are beautiful, clean with lovely bedding. Well appointed with robes, towels for the sauna and wet bar. Very high tech. Would stay here again in a heart beat. Staff is great!! Family affair. Live entertainment on the Friday night we were there. The folk singer even stayed an extra thirty minutes because the crowd was so into him. Dinner food looked great. Wine was good. bartender seemed to be talented with the martinis. Only down side was breakfast was not served until 9am. Too late for us and most others staying there.

Cliffs Edge was somehow magical . It is well designed and is beautiful and unique . A hidden gem in my opinion. We had the best stay with a well equipped , well decorated room and we also had a wonderful dinner in the Forager restaurant on site . Will definitely stay again while on the rock !!

Beautiful room, fantastic view. So peaceful and quiet and very comfortable. Luxury! However the staff member on the reception was so disinterested, they definately need retraining in customer relations.
