Staff friendly Design crisp with a cool mixed Adirondack feel but not over the top. It is a airy and welcoming lobby design Large Light Gold Glass in lobby mimic antlers very cool. Chairs around fireplace- comfortable Pillows on chairs cool design Bar could use an attendant? Happy hour? Or a welcome water and lemon self serve. Rug round- sharpe too! Room with water view a plus I paid extra for. Not sure how much a balcony water view would have been? Same price? Room cost $297 on high end compared to some in Lake Placid. Those one was select because those in LP and Saranac the furnishings looked old with a few new furnishings. Their objects like rugs looked very old. Beds in other hotels looked dated with old headboard designs. ( mattresses old possibly. Lobby look nice, but the rooms look sparse with all the furnishings. Some the lobby look beautiful, but the room & bathroom, the entrance to the rooms especially did not. Many had exterior entrances to the room that I don’t consider as safe as interior. This hotel was a complete new build. Linens, beds excellent! Quiet vs hotels “in town.” Convenient with a boathouse and back with seating for dinner on the water with no way or line. Ice cream stand again, conveniently located only a few feet away with generous scoops of hard and soft ice cream. Return to the hotel to enjoy around a beautiful fire pit overlooking the water. Booked to bring my family for a quick overnight getaway. I wanted to bring my son swimming for the first time. The pool was broken, called before I arrived to make sure pool was not broken as my other family arrived and informed me of it being broken. I was assured that the pool would be operational, so instead of canceling the booking taking the refund and going to another property I took the word of the hotel. Pool was broken the entire stay. During checkout was informed that since I booked through Expedia that there was nothing they could do try to rectify the situation.

We had a great stay and walked over the see the Ice Castle. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We used the pool and hot tub area too. We will definitely be back.

The property is really nice and clean, with spacious rooms. The pool was very convenient. The area around the hotel is calm, perfect for a walk. However, the nearby restaurants were pricey, and the water activities at the hotel required reservations and were not free. We couldn't get a drink as the front bar was closed.

Very nice property with great options in exercise room. Pool and hot tub were enjoyable as well. We appreciated the outdoor space options to view the scenery. There were kayaks to rent from a local business next to the hotel, and a fun ice cream stand right off the property's parking lot. Definitely would stay again.

Hotel lovely and clean. Pool and hot tub were nice way to unwind. The restaurant was odd - it took over an hour to get food in a restaurant with two other tables. Food not great at dinner. Breakfast was very good.

Nice stay. The room was nice and updated. Minus for cleanliness though. There were food crumbs laying around, the bedstands were not cleaned at all and the bedsheets had mega wrinkles. I really want to believe they were washed after the last users I’m hoping this was the case only because we arrived earlier than checkin time but if the hotel needed more time to properly clean our room, we would have prefered to wait longer.

Beautiful exterior, beautiful interior……but don’t let the advertisement fool you. The pool they show is NOT at this hotel, it isn’t even outside. It’s a 5’ deep by 10 foot long bathtub. The hotel in its common areas was clean and beautiful, but the pound of long black hair under the pop-up cover in the shower caused it to flood the bathroom forcing us to change rooms at 9 at night. They gave us 2 breakfast vouchers (up to $25) which we decided to hold for the last morning of our stay. We walked in to the restaurant, only one other table occupied. We were told by the waitress “sit wherever”. No hello, no good morning. Ok. When she finally makes her way over to us, she has air pods in, doesn’t introduce herself just hands us two menus and walks off. After sitting for 5 more minutes with no one in sight, I set a timer and told my son if we don’t see her before this goes off we are out. Needless to say, we were on our way 5 minutes later. We handed our vouchers back in at the desk and said we wouldn’t be needing those, and drove over to Lake Placid where we had a fantastic breakfast at Generations and continued on with a great day at the Olympic Center.

Inside hotel was great-its just the outside grounds looked run down, weeds all around, duck poop all over the lawn. Its a great location but they should take better care of the outside area's.

My husband and I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights this past week to see family and friends. We paid for a larger room, but the layout was so odd! Long hallway in the entryway, which could have been used better for a larger bathroom. The bedroom was small and the living room was quite large. The bathroom sink was all the way to the right side, which was on the door side, and the door kept closing, so we had to hold the door open with our leg or hip. The shower pressure was worst we\'ve ever had - and the glass doors kept opening during the shower. One morning the "auto light" turned off in the middle of my shower, and the next morning the drain didn\'t drain properly so I had to finish showering in my own soapy mess. Last morning the light turned off again; not sure why they need to use an auto light? The living room was spacious, but no microwave? Just a fridge and small coffee maker with no condiments for coffee. The couch cushions kept falling off the couch. And only one light in the living room, so it was terribly dark when we were in there at night. We got there on Sunday, and had a nice lunch at the Boat House with bartender Kelly. This was probably our favorite experience at the hotel. The next 2 nights, the restaurant/bar were closed. With a full hotel, why would the restaurant not be open? The front desk staff were also hit or miss. The 2 girls we came across were pleasant, but all of the men were on their phones. Very disappointing all around.

There is no soundproofing in the rooms. TV was on in the room next to us and it was like we were in their room watching TV with them. We complained, and after going back and forth they gave us another room. But downgraded us from a suite to a regular room and wouldn’t give us a refund for the difference in cost of the two rooms. In the regular room we could hear every footstep from the people above us. Not please at all for the price I paid to stay there.

The property and rooms were great. Staff were wonderful. Our only complaint would be the noise. You can hear everything! We ended up using a noise machine we brought with us. A couple staying across from us brought a box fan.

Clean, modern room with good bed. Biggest complaint is thin ceilings that telegraph every noise from room above. Rude stomping woke us up at 1:00 am. Bring your white noise and earplugs.

It looks like the nicest place in town. The room is a bit spartan and hard surfaces everywhere so it's a bit cold and unhomey. Modern I guess. Echoey.

Overall good, I would recommend they put microwaves in the rooms also more storage for clothing. I had to live out of my suitcase they weren’t draws to put ur clothes in.

Had a beautiful lake view from our room. Very nice new looking hotel. Could use luggage rack in room. There is limited space available for locking bikes outdoors in a sheltered area next to the front entrance.

The hotel is in a very nice and central location. We had a view of the lake which was spectacular. The hotel itself is very comfortable but my only complaint is the air conditioning system. We stayed in October and the room was unbearably hot each night around 1am. And the air conditioner had no option to just stay on so we resorted to opening the window which only opened a few inches on each side which I assumed was for safety. A very pleasant stay but the air conditioning system could have been better.

We were over charged on check-in, and even after a week to fix the $500 error they did not upon check-out. Had to change rooms mid week, and at midnight, because of the drunk they could do nothing about in the room above us. Unattended small children running amuck at all hours, elevators broken down, etc. it is obvious that this hotel lacks management serious about the service industry. My wife and I are pretty easy going, and enjoyed the town of Lake Saranac, but I would never stay at this hotel ever again.

We had booked a room with a lake view. Got a room on the opposite side facing the highway and some houses. The lady at reception was very sorry and helpful but they did not have those rooms available. She got us a room with partial lake view and arranged a reasonable discount. Breakfast was good and big, but the service in the restaurant was not good. We also had not been given the breakfast vouchers so had to go back to get them. The place is nice and beautiful, but the staffing and service processes could be improved. We also had some bad luck with them having a loud wedding party that night, some loud people in the courtyard under our window till about 1am, and then somebody taking a dog out at 3 am, barking for a long time until another guest started shouting at them from his window. This was not quite the experience we were expecting.

Never in my life have I experienced such courteous and friendly staff as dedicated as the ones at this hotel. We went there to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday and the staff provided a birthday card signed by the whole staff as well as a couple of freshly made pieces of cheesecake that they stuck in our mini fridge while we were out shopping. The property itself is gorgeous, very elegant. The rooms were very comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. The bed was extremely comfortable. We ended up having breakfast at the in hotel restaurant and it was amazing. Whenever we travel back to Saranac this is exactly where we will be staying again!

Employee at the front desk when checking in not welcoming and not informative at all. He basically wanted our auto information and a cc to keep on file. That’s about it. Very cold customer service. Young lady a little while later had a hard time coming up with any restaurants in the area. She also was not informative to an expected level. I was unhappy about this. The property and the cleanliness of the room was superb. You should serve breakfast on Mondays !

After a long drive in rainy weather, we were looking forward to settling into our room. Unfortunately we had a most disappointing experience with Cooper, the young man at the desk. He did not greet us with a smile nor a hello. We arrived at 2:45 PM, assuming we could check in at 3:00. That is what was indicated on the Hotels.com details page. He said check-in was at 4:00 and that was "on Hotels" for the incorrect check-in time. The hotel is large and it appeared that not many guests were staying there. We requested any room that was ready, but he insisted that we were only to be assigned to the room that was not ready. He said no changes could be made. He told us to check back by 4:00 to see if the room was ready. After using the rest room, I came out to learn that the room was ready, according to the most accommodating head of house keeping. Why Cooper could not find that out was beyond me. We had a breakfast package, only Cooper neglected to provide us with vouchers, which led to much confusion in the dining room. When we requested them for the following day, he only gave us two, instead of the four we were entitled to. This whole experience truly put a damper on our entire experience at the hotel. Needless to say, we were not comfortable asking Cooper for any suggestions about places to see or restaurants.

This is the best hotel in Saranac Lake. It’s located on Lake Flower, and it’s within a short distance from Main Street shops and the Laboratory Museum. Very walkable location.

This particular hotel is the absolute perfect place for rest and relaxation, away from the hustle and bustle of Lake Placid. You might have to travel 10 minutes or so for a place to eat but well worth the trip.

We enjoyed our stay. The room was beautiful and we loved the location. It was close to town and we enjoyed several restaurants that were wonderful. The front desk staff was a little cold and not very welcoming. They addressed our needs but we almost felt like we were bothering them. The restaurant on site needs a lot of work. Nice lake views but the food was awful, over priced and they were very understaffed. They need to step it up to compete with the local restaurants near by. We will definitely come back as we loved our accommodations and the area.

We paid the extra fee, daily, for breakfast and it was definitely worth it. We had a lengthy time frame to use the breakfast credits and the Boathouse breakfast was delicious. It was so confident to have a good restaurant right at the hotel. We loved the Adirondack chairs and fire pits set up around the property near the water. The view of Lake Flower was great and plenty of boats to rent. The only negative we would give about our stay is that there seems to be no upkeep on the outside landscaping. The grass was quite long in places and the shrubs around the property needed to be trimmed as they hung over into the seating areas in some spots. The hotel was great but we had a lake view room and it was disappointing to look out our window and see the poorly kept landscaping.

We were disappointed in the breakfast. An $18 breakfast buffet should be much more than a buffet you can get for free from other hotel chains. Suggestions: omlet station, fresh pasteries and bread. Not wrap up and packaged bread, pasteries and bagels.

The restaurant's bar area closed very early (9pm), though the servers were cordial and did allow us to stay a bit longer ... and, the prices are VERY high for a small town in that area... which is why there were no/zero patrons there at 8pm and after... the hours and the costs have to be changed in order to attract patrons; in the future, we will find another place to have our meal and drinks if nothing changes.

Hotel lovely and clean. Pool and hot tub were nice way to unwind. The restaurant was odd - it took over an hour to get food in a restaurant with two other tables. Food not great at dinner. Breakfast was very good.

The room had a slight mildew smell but the staff was very helpful and used a de-odorizer of some sort which mostly eliminated the smell. Mostly we enjoyed our stay and the staff was helpful. I found the pizza mediocre but my traveling companion enjoyed her fish. No breakfast to speak of. But the surroundings were beautiful.
