good location,,clean, nice pool, grand old house attached which looks so good dislike is being asked for credit card details, when the room has been prepaid. If a Hotel or motel doesn't trust its guests in case they break a plate or similar, why should the guest trust the hotel with his credit cards details. sorry, but I loved the place but this policy prevents a return or recommendation to others.

Lovely motel. Loved the old world charm. The manager and his wife went out of their way for us. Our room had everything that you could ask for and more,even a hair dryer in the lovely bathroom. Loved the four poster bed. Close to the Main St easy to walk to. Places to eat on the next block. Beautiful Clean pool.We stayed there on our Return journey, and will definitely stay there next time we are in Broken Hill

We liked the area and the look of the Lodge. The bed was comfortable and the shower was nice and hot. The rooms just need a good clean and a spruce up. All the curtains need a backing for the light and heat.. The fan and Air-conditioner need a service as both very noisy. Undercover car parking would be great too.

The property was in good condition we had a large comfortable room but no cooking hob. The washing machine was free to use and $2 dollars ($1 coins) for the old drier which was pretty efficient. Parking was a challenge for the room we had with full size 4WD and some of our neighbours also had large utes requiring everyone to reverse in to expedite departure. Didn't use the swimming pool as it was mid June with overnight temps at 0.

The bathroom hadn’t been cleaned in a while, dust, hair and grasshopper in the bathroom. Bed was comfortable though. The staff need to brush up on their customer service. Was only provided one key. When ringing site manager at 10 pm I was let in and yelled at. Very unprofessional and rude.

The fridge - Mold in the seal and food scraps Bedroom - Fan had dust that thick, looked like 2yrs worth. Blind rail, pictures, lights, shelves were all dusty and dirty. Bathroom tiles had hair from last booking on them. Toilet paper holder was broken so a half used roll of toilet paper was left on top of the toilet. Hair dryer had dirt and sticky residue on it. Power points didn't work. TV remote didn't work properly to the TV, had to use the controls on the TV. Air con vent was so thick with dust I left it out for you to see and clean which u finally did. Dish cloth was dirty from last booking and the dishwashing liquid packet was open and used from the last booking but not replaced.

Bland reception Dated Decor Tiny bathroom Poorly cleaned older style shower recess. Shower head broken, would not stay in place making it difficult to shower (NB, -It was replaced the next day ) black mould inbetween grout, yellow scum on white tiles made it feel unclean & uninviting. No bathroom light only heater ceiling light- making tiny room very hot Vanity unit was seperate thus inconvenient for accessing toiletries Kitchenette needs a coat of paint -chipped shelves Toaster not cleaned Ceiling fan has black dirty accumulated dirt overhanging the rotary Felt the whole room needs a thorough cleansing from ceiling to walls & floors The bed appeared to have clean linen & the mattress was on the softer side of comfortable

This place is due for a long overdue upgrade. Light fittings either didnt work or had globes missing, the water damage to the bathroom door skirting, lack of advertised TV channels , light switches in weirdest places for bathroom ( in the coffee making area). It was mainly clean, but would not recommended for a longer stay.

Our upgraded room was satisfactory, but aged. The bed was very soft and difficult to sleep in as it sagged in the middle. The bathroom was quite small. Outside lighting shone through a window above the door. This had to be blocked prior to going to bed. The window curtain barely covered the window at night, requiring pegs to hold it shut.

Reception staff abrasive, unwelcoming, room is like a jail cell, not clean, fridge made annoying noise, luckily the neighbours were so noisy, i would only hear it occasionally, room looks like it had not been renovated since the late 90s, luckily i had my own bedding in my car, as no chance i was risking the bedding being changed, after how dirty and dated the rest of the prison cell was, i only paid 90aud, but for a few extra dollars you'll find much much better, avoid!!!!

We were on our way from Perth to the Southern outskirts of Brisbane and very tired. I booked online and when we arrived the lady at reception was friendly we said it was already paid she explained why she needed our card details that was fine. The room had a jumbo tv that was great compared to where we are tonight. It was a little squeezy to get in the bathroom and air con was old and noisy. We did turn off but the room retained the heat beautifully as it was 8° in the morning . Would we stay again...? Yes we would. We didnt take photos sorry but it has a lovely European charm.

We have never felt so unwelcome when checking-in to a hotel/motel. The facilities were adequate, although bare floorboards in the bedroom area in winter were a surprise - whatever happened to the idea of a couple of floor rugs? The receptionist was abrupt and unwelcoming at check-in - an attitude that was maintained throughout our 2 night stay . I would not recommend this property to anyone

Lovely motel. Loved the old world charm. The manager and his wife went out of their way for us. Our room had everything that you could ask for and more,even a hair dryer in the lovely bathroom. I guess it gets back to the term you only get what you pay for. Firstly, we arrived early towing a trailer hoping we could leave the trailer until check in time and go into town for something to eat,only to be advised that you are way to early and the woman was pissed of at our arrival time. She finally agreed for us to unhook the trailer and Then took her forever to find me, so I said I booked through wotif and I can give you a ref number. She seemed annoyed that the booking was through wotif because it’s not Australian and the money goes over seas. Why sign up with wotif if you don’t like them ? Our first impressions was that this person was very rude Oh, and don’t be fooled with the nice pic on the web page ,If your not paying top dollar you get a room that obviously needs an upgrade as seen in the pics Maybe she was having a bad day, but that’s no way to treat your clients

Disappointed to book here. I wasn’t expecting much but the greeting was unfriendly. Found out later breakfast packs were available then to find that the office was closed. Why wasn’t this mentioned at check in. Simple things that can make people come back. Sorry, I won’t be coming back here

Reception staff abrasive, unwelcoming, room is like a jail cell, not clean, fridge made annoying noise, luckily the neighbours were so noisy, i would only hear it occasionally, room looks like it had not been renovated since the late 90s, luckily i had my own bedding in my car, as no chance i was risking the bedding being changed, after how dirty and dated the rest of the prison cell was, i only paid 90aud, but for a few extra dollars you'll find much much better, avoid!!!!

Lovely managers Janelle and Troy . They have just taken over management and are making lots of improvements they are friendly and willing to help with anything you need. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The motel is within a few minutes walking distance of the town of Broken Hill . Very good value for money

Greeting wasnt friendly at all. Freezer door wasnt on properly .lighting wasnt that good. Bathroom door was very narrow.location was good . Needed a few powerpoints near the bed on other side .

The location is very convient and parking good. The room was a little date and the bathroom especially needed some fresh e paint . All in all good value for the location and great value compared to other hotel we have stayed in in BH.

The mattress is cheap and uncomfortable, the doorway to the bathroom is barely 50 cm wide, the shower head is in a v shaped corner and hard to get an overall complete shower. I only stayed as it seemed to be the best out of the available hotels. Overpriced for a less than average old and tired hotel, next time I’m in the Hill I’ll find something better.

The nice pics you see are not standard cheaper rooms they are the premium ones. The regular rooms are old and mine smelt musty and had bugs they need to seal the door gap or something, staff didn'tseem concerned. I'd go premium rooms or not at all
