Sugar Apple Bed and Breakfast

Natalie, the manager was exceptional. Her hospitality her attention to your every need is what one needs on a vacation. The bed-and-breakfast is less than two walking blocks from the spectacular Christiansted boardwalk & the Historic district where you can also take the ferry and cross to HOTEL and the key the breakfast served and every morning what’s a great way to start the day upon my return this is where I plan to stay. This property was a gem, within walking distance of the boardwalk, tons of shops and eateries. Natalie , the hostess was so kind and welcoming, she was a wealth of knowledge on places to Eat and beaches to visit. We absolutely loved being greeted by Marilyn as well.

Despite the lack of cable TV, which we are used to here in the States, I was able to get around that by using YouTube as a “guest”. Otherwise I would have had a bad time as I don’t stream anything back home nor have subscriptions with any streaming services. That aside everything else was wonderful. Location close to the Downtown, great bakery four blocks away as other local food establishments. Tourism office two blocks away. A wonderful beach a short boat taxi ride away. The hotel’s patio/pool area was cozy and pool clean. Natalie is a great host, who serves a wonderful breakfast. It was a great stay and I am already thinking about returning at the end of year.

The room was pretty spare and rustic. The bed was in poor shape and made a ton of noise when you got in/out of it. The location was both a plus (walkable to Christensted) and a minus (the neighborhood wasn't great). The 'breakfast' part of the B&B was limited in both what was offered (vegan only) and duration (8-9am). I respect the personal preference but not all (or many guests) appreciate the limitations. Add all that to a lack of housekeeping services and a housekeeper who was extraordinarily rude and obnoxious and you get a 2 star rating.
