We stayed here for our sons wedding. We stayed 3 nights. 2 booked through Best Western and 1 night through hotels.Com. They floors & shower were dirty. We got no sleep. False advertisement for sound proof rooms. EV charger did not work. An employee decided to party in the room next to us all night long and then he proceeded to play loud preaching all day long. We complained and knocked on his door to ask him to turn it down. He was rude. The next night he (or someone else) left a TV on in the same room blaring. No one was in the room. Ivy was very helpful, but the owners are not. Don’t stay here. We paid full price for 2 sleepless nights. We had to leave our sons reception early because we were exhausted. Owners did nothing to compensate our stay. Breakfast was gone before I got any. Not worth the stay!

Great room. Nice and clean. Comfy bed. Helpful staff. Clean pool. I really enjoyed my stay. It was close to some nice hiking. Only negative comment was that there were some vagrant type people parked next to and hanging out smoking on the side of the hotel near the dog area. No trouble, but just creepy.

Arrived to a room with stains on every upholstered surface and many areas of the carpeted and a foul sewer like odor. Dead bugs on floor, hair on sheets under bedspread. Elevator, and hallway at exit of elevator, extremely dirty, large trash cart at 2nd floor elevator lobby, used disposable gloves laying on floor. Could not tolerate the conditions in location and left the hotel dinner and to search for better accommodations. Tried to check out around 9:15 pm and was told I could not check out until the reservation of Friday 9-6 through check out on Sunday 9-8-24 expired. Requested a copy of some proof I was attempting to check out and the evening desk clerk printed and provide a portfolio of information for the stay with a date and timestamp for Friday, 9/6/24. Desk clerk also advised of some issues with cleanliness from some of the assigned staff and apologized. Left the location for an available and clean accommodation in Roseville, CA a great distance away from the family event occuring in Dutch Flat. Tried get a refund via the Expedia help line and was advised the Best Western property refused to provide a refund. Still seeking reimbursement via alternative methods. Would never recommend this location to anyone , ever.

Staff is great and accommodating. Breakfast is good and nicely presented. Room was clean, with a bit of extra attention to bathroom (hair left in shower and bathroom floor) but overall the room was clean and had a fresh smell. Only negative is the pool area furniture - I felt the pool furniture needed some TLC. Chairs/lounge chairs and table need replacing or renovation. Umbrella that used to be there, is now missing. Furniture was in disarray, (spiderwebs, dirty, unstable and tossed about). The pool itself was very clean as was the pool deck. All in all the stay was positive. I will be back.

The location to skiing/snow play is great. Just off I-80. Staff was friendly and helpful. The price was good. There were good dining options nearby. We had dinner at Il Pizzaiolo, which was fantastic. Parking was easy and plentiful. Breakfast was decent. Waffles, eggs, sausage, hot and cold cereal, toast, muffins, almond and cow's milk, yogurt, fruit, coffee, tea, and juices. Elevators were convenient. The beds were fine and rooms clean. The bathroom had mold, water damage on the ceiling, and the shower was not very clean.

We had selected the ADA room. The shower water did not hit the bench so the bench could not be used. The floor of the shower was extremely slippery and they did not provide a mat even when asked. The luggage racks that roll to the rooms were broken, and the key did not work.

The room was dirty. Some towels were dirty and it was obvious that they didn’t wipe the desk area. The beds were uncomfortable and very noisy/squeaky. We stayed on the first floor and the guests from upstairs and in the halls were very loud. When trying to call the front desk, the phone in the room didn’t work. The coffee was water and the machine didn’t work one morning.

We checked in at 12:30 AM after attending a 65th birthday celebration. The 1st room they checked us into was never cleaned, the next room we were in was clean but the water wouldn’t drain from the tub or sink. This is supposed to be a new hotel but there seems to be so many issues.

There was no hand soap when we arrived. It seemed as if there was barely any shampoo, conditioner, or body wash. The drawer has no handle so it was difficult to open. There were ants everywhere in the room. Finally, there were items left over from the last people who stayed in the room; a redvine tucked in between the couch and the wall, and a stick of some sort underneath the couch.

First room appeared to have clean sheets but dirty floor and countertops. Not sure how you miss a shell casing on the floor. My daughter didn't. Front desk was very nice and put is another room. The second room had a clean floor and counter but lots of hairs and stains on the sheets.

The Good: New Hotel and right off the freeway. Cheaper than staying in Tahoe. The Bad: The walls,floors and doors are very thin. You can hear everyone talking in the hallway and in other rooms,walking around. Had a hard time sleeping.

the staff was very nice, but the hotel is in terrible condition for being pretty new. hanging pieces of wallpaper, poorly lit staircase, signs of water damage, dirty corridors and elevator. worst of all was water pressure. the shower didn't run at all when we arrived and the manager said it was because the washing machines were running. the shower door also wouldn't stay closed. i was disappointed because the location is great.

Property is new and clean. Location is convenient, close to gas, food, & freeway. Only downside, the building and flooring is not sound proff. We weren't able to sleep well from the noise of people upstairs.

Our check in was fairly smooth and our room is spacious with a nice chaise sofa. Unfortunately, we had trouble getting into our room as we almost needed to slam down the handle in order for the door to fully open. They didn’t have the right number if towels we needed and when I asked for more, they only had small pool towels available. Sadly, the cleaning staff wasn’t thorough in thei cleaning as there was a use tool hanging behind the door which I had to bring to the front desk to get rid of.

Our check in was fairly smooth and our room is spacious with a nice chaise sofa. Unfortunately, we had trouble getting into our room as we almost needed to slam down the handle in order for the door to fully open. They didn’t have the right number if towels we needed and when I asked for more, they only had small pool towels available. Very very nice hotel but the noise last night on the 3rd floor was unreal. People running & intentionally stomping on the floor all the way down and back up the hallway every few minutes till well after midnight and he first shower I took, the water would go down to a trickle then to full blast (which wasn’t powerful) & it would come & go the whole time. I was terrified I’d be covered in soap & the water would shut off. Sad to have complaints because it was a really really nice hotel.

The hotel is convenient, and the room has everything you need. Unfortunately, due to its proximity to the highway, you can hear road noise and trucks throughout the night. Adding some trees between the highway and the hotel could help dampen the noise and improve the overall experience.

My transportation (train from Emeryville) was cancelled within the 24-hour refund period. The person at the desk was not interested in talking about it. My cost was for nothing, and it wasn't my fault. I'll look elsewhere next time.

The bathroom shower had paint stains, and the toiletries were all empty. We had to ask for refills but the hotel management weren't to happy when the housekeeper tried to help us. I felt like the management was super stingy in giving out normal amenities such as extra towels as we were a family of 4 that stayed in for four nights. We also had to ask for extra blankets and pillows, they didn't seem to be happy with that either. I think the management needs to take some hospitality and customer service classes so they know how to treat their guests right. The housekeeping staff was great. No issues with them. Just the owner and management team.

The front desk gal when we checked in was rude and at one point there was a guy there and ditto. The place was filthy. Needs a good cleaning. The gal at the breakfast area, to clean the toaster she wiped off the crumbs with her fingers.

Colfax is a hillside community so walking is not convenient but what you need is here and good. Hotel is good value but not opulent in any way - just the basics.

Always my go to - it’s half way between the Bay Area (where I work) and Reno (where I live) so on those occasions when it’s too late and I’m too tired to drive all the way home, this is my spot. Clean, comfy and super convenient highway access and Starbucks is only 3 blocks away when it’s time to roll the next morning.

The hotel is convenient, and the room has everything you need. Unfortunately, due to its proximity to the highway, you can hear road noise and trucks throughout the night. Adding some trees between the highway and the hotel could help dampen the noise and improve the overall experience.

This is a great hotel in the perfect location to visit my son and his family. Clean, comfortable, easy breakfast included. And there is no extra charge for parking, which is annoying. Ask for a room facing the back of the hotel to avoid freeway noise (which isn't terrible but somewhat noticeable).

Perfect location on the way to Tahoe. Parking is free and easy. Check-in is very fast. Rooms are large and comfy. Gas stations are nearby before continuing our journey. Only minor drawback is that the types of restaurants are Colfax are a bit limited.

Very friendly staff, room was large nice and clean. Breakfast need a littlebit attention. Sorry but the eggs are too watered down and the dining area was a bit unsupervised, food items were not restocked as it should've may be the cook needs an assistance I thing that is a job for 2 people not just one. It's a beautiful location and very convenient if you need to stop on the way to Tahoe. The building is new and room is in great condition. Unfortunately, the shower gel container was empty, the juice machine wasn't working and the breakast area lady walks around talking to herself outloud about her problems. :-) Other than that the facilities are in great shape!!!

The location to skiing/snow play is great. Just off I-80. Staff was friendly and helpful. The price was good. There were good dining options nearby. We had dinner at Il Pizzaiolo, which was fantastic. Parking was easy and plentiful. Breakfast was decent. Waffles, eggs, sausage, hot and cold cereal, toast, muffins, almond and cow's milk, yogurt, fruit, coffee, tea, and juices. Elevators were convenient. The beds were fine and rooms clean. The bathroom had mold, water damage on the ceiling, and the shower was not very clean.

The room and hotel were beautiful and brand new it seems. My only complaint is the “free breakfast” wasn’t really available. There were so many people and families who were basically fighting over the food and there wasn’t much left. Other than that the bed was comfortable, the room was updated

Ughh where do I begin, the property is so poorly maintained and unsanitary. We were first given a room without curtains, we were switched to a room with a giant sticky stain in front of the door, trash and food waste under beds, ants climbing all over the breakfast area, everything was sticky and dirty looking… we were woken up at 6am on a Saturday morning by a false fire alarm. The front desk staff are unfriendly, borderline rude and honestly do not know what they were doing… breakfast ran out of coffee, ran out of eggs, the woman managing it all seemed completely overwhelmed, 30minutes later, eggs were still not refilled. Save yourself the trouble, do not stay here.. oh outside had a ton of trash piled of old mattresses and furniture, such a weird sight… shower had someone else’s long hair stuck to the wall… hotels.com app has it listed at 8.8.. I would say it’s closer to a 5.8 or lower

Our room had ants, the tv entertainment table had dust and crumbs, the bathroom vanity had stains, the walls had gunk. The shower floor had lint, it seemed like it wasn’t cleaned before given to us. The fire alarms went off at 6am. When checking out, the guy at front desk was wearing headphones and seemed bothered to help me check out. He didn’t get up from where he was seated (which was about 10ft from front desk) removed one headphone and told me to leave the room key at the desk, no further information or help to check out. It was a mess.

The staff were great. The breakfast room had very tiny ants on the food counter. The staff would monitor it and did state they are aware of the issue and could not find the location of entry. The breakfast room was clean and welcoming other than the issue listed above. The food selection was good; however, the biscuits were room temperature. A microwave is needed in the breakfast area to heat up the food that it needs to be warm. We ate breakfast the first morning at the hotel and went out for breakfast the remaining days due to the items listed above. The rooms were clean and nice; however, the shower needs addition cleaning care. Parking was good.
