This place was the perfect way to end our honeymoon trip to Costa Rica. Loved how eco conscious this hotel was. It was a beautiful, quiet stay tucked away in the jungle with close access to the beach. The monkeys paid us a visit on the patio and we heard them around the hotel, which was a pretty cool experience! The pool is very nice and clean and was a great way to cool off after the beach and our excursions. The staff is very friendly and helpful and they offer a lot of fun excursions and experiences you can book right from your hotel. We also booked a couples massage, which was heavenly! Highly recommend for a romantic/honeymoon/anniversary trip, especially for nature lovers!

The entire staff was amazing. From check-in to check-out we were treated with respect and honor. They bent over backwards to take care of ALL our needs. When asked to assist us, their response was NEVER, "we will check on it." It was ALWAYS, we will have it for you in short order. Amazing Hotel. The wife had a massage and said it was the BEST she had ever received. This hotel is for those who want to be treated like a ROYAL.

Upon our arrival at Issimo, we were greeted with champagne, as if the staff had been eagerly anticipating us. The check-in process was seamless, and we were invited to leave our bags while the concierge guided us through the hotel’s stunning grounds. We explored the restaurant, pool area, and the beautiful spa, designed like an intimate cave. Our spacious room was immaculate, featuring a jacuzzi, stand-up shower, balcony, and a bidet. Just outside our balcony, a curious capuchin monkey peeked at us as if to say, "Welcome," before darting away. We love Issimo, this is our second time here. The hotel is intimate and relaxing, not a place to go to party. Happy hour was nice as they’ve added live music around the pool.

Its a small hotel on a rocky cliff face - no access to beach. Many stairs and no lift. I think we had the best room we have ever had - absolutely loved it. Room 101! Staff were lovely. Monkeys popped over - lock your balcony door after putting some banana out there. The only thing that didn't impress me was some fried reformed cheap boiled ham on a breakfast plate once - do bacon as pictured or don't bother! Breakfast was otherwise great and dinner v good though. WE ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!

Beautiful location. Staff was amazing. Yvania at the front desk is the best concierge. Julia served my decaf espresso with foam every day with a super smile & friendly service. Food was great. Pool was perfect. The beds & pillows were comfortable. What a wonderful trip at Issimo Suites. I loved waking up every morning to the sound of Howler monkeys & many tropical birds. We even swam with the white face monkeys in the pool one day..... very carefully & from afar ;) It was an extra luxury to have the shuttle service transport us around at no charge. A special shout out to Jose, Geiner & Randall all who made the trip truly unforgettable.

Amazing setting with room and other areas overlooking above jungles to the ocean. Food service was good but limited/repetitive. Smaller pool probably okay for a boutique hotel of this size. Surprised our suite did not have any comfortable sitting area inside, but three beds instead.

The friendliness of the staff was exceptional. They went out of their way to make your stay wonderful! The restaurant views are a 10 and the cleanliness around the property and especially the pool was impeccable. Parking was very easy and a few steps from the entrance! I highly recommend this hotel !

We loved our stay there . Very clean, very quiet, gorgeous view from our room/balcony and the dining area wonderful staff; we enjoyed the jacuzzi on the balcony in the evening in the middle of the rain forest. Several monkeys visited our balcony in the morning, and I took some great videos of them. I also saw them jump from tree to tree right outside our room. Exhilarating! Wish we could have stayed longer; can’t say anything about dinner as we arrived too late for us to eat, although the restaurant was still open. Great place! Warmly recommend.

Nous avons été assez déçu de notre séjour dans cet hôtel. Nous avions une vue sublime sur l’océan depuis notre terrasse en revanche notre chambre était située sous la salle de restaurant et était très bruyante. En plus du manque d’isolation nous avons trouvé la chambre vieillotte et humide (manque d’aération) ne correspondant pas du tout à la tranche de prix appliquée. Le restaurant était en revanche assez bon.

We stayed 4 nights here. From the first moment we walked in the room we noticed there was a lot of ants in the room. Told the staff and they sprayed the room but didn’t make a difference. There are holes in the wall and ants were crawling out of the holes. The towels they would give us had ants on them. We had to end up getting our own towels. We never used the bathtub cause we would always find ants crawling around. We ended up leaving a day early cause of this and they wouldn’t refund us for that last day either. For how much it cost it is definitely not worth it.

Not a 4 star hotel. Several other hotels in the area that were offered at lower price that we should have probably gone for. The view from the restaurant is nice. The breakfast is sub par. Lizards and bugs in the room. The toilet with the mesh door is really inconvenient and leaves for unwanted smells in bedroom.

We have a great experience at Issimo during our stay. The panoramic suite views were amazing. The room was a little bit more "rustic" than I expected, but the views, the friendly staff and delicious food more than made up for it! I would definitely recommend for any couple looking to get away for a romantic stay. Oh... and did I mention the views!

We went here for our honeymoon- and LOVED it!! Incredible breakfast, beautiful view right from the dining area, sunsets unlike any I’ve ever seen, right from our jacuzzi. Private jacuzzi on each balcony… amazing. Also plenty of options for local tours/etc and they arrange for transportation and guides and everything. Manuel Antonio national park- amazing wildlife, worth getting a guide who can point out all the biodiversity with binoculars!! And the beach there is incredible- clear water, white sands. Not much to see as far as hiking - for avid hikers might be better to go to a different part of Costa Rica. 10-15 minute hike to several private or semi private beaches, which we enjoyed we love hiking. 20 minute walk to Manuel Antonio, several cute restaurants - would recommend Emilio’s Cafe, Monarcha (butterfly cafe & good breakfast). Don’t recommend the restaurant Sunset! Food was overpriced and not very good. Issimo’s restaurant was delicious!! Staff very prompt and kind. Definitely pricey so we went to Manuel Antonio most nights. We went here for our honeymoon- and LOVED it!! Incredible breakfast, beautiful view right from the dining area, sunsets unlike any I’ve ever seen, right from our jacuzzi. Private jacuzzi on each balcony… amazing. Also plenty of options for local tours/etc and they arrange for transportation and guides and everything. Manuel Antonio national park- amazing wildlife, worth getting a guide who can point out all the biodiversity with binoculars!! And the beach there is incredible- clear water, white sands. Not much to see as far as hiking - for avid hikers might be better to go to a different part of Costa Rica. 10-15 minute hike to several private or semi private beaches, which we enjoyed we love hiking. 20 minute walk to Manuel Antonio, several cute restaurants - would recommend Emilio’s Cafe, Monarcha (butterfly cafe & good breakfast). Don’t recommend the restaurant Sunset! Food was overpriced and not very good. Issimo’s restaurant was delicious!! Staff very prompt and kind. Definitely pricey so we went to Manuel Antonio most nights. Nous avons été assez déçu de notre séjour dans cet hôtel. Nous avions une vue sublime sur l’océan depuis notre terrasse en revanche notre chambre était située sous la salle de restaurant et était très bruyante. En plus du manque d’isolation nous avons trouvé la chambre vieillotte et humide (manque d’aération) ne correspondant pas du tout à la tranche de prix appliquée. Le restaurant était en revanche assez bon.

Beautiful hotel with amazing views. The staff are wonderful, provide top notch service. The reason I cannot leave a five star review is because we struggle getting hot water every single day. Each room has a jacuzzi and we weren't able to use it because of the cold water. The shower lukewarm at best. They really need to invest in a proper water heating system.

Amazing setting with room and other areas overlooking above jungles to the ocean. Food service was good but limited/repetitive. Smaller pool probably okay for a boutique hotel of this size. Surprised our suite did not have any comfortable sitting area inside, but three beds instead.

Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Upon arrival we were given a tour of the property and our room. Anything we asked for was provided and all staff were very attentive, friendly and helpful. Pool was perfect. The beds & pillows were comfortable. What a wonderful trip at Issimo Suites. I loved waking up every morning to the sound of Howler monkeys & many tropical birds. We even swam with the white face monkeys in the pool one day..... very carefully & from afar ;) It was an extra luxury to have the shuttle service transport us around at no charge. A special shout out to Jose, Geiner & Randall all who made the trip truly unforgettable.

What a beautiful setting in Quepos. The views from the room, pool, and dining area were perfect. It was quiet, well-kept, and very accommodating. The staff was friendly, we especially enjoyed Julia in the morning at breakfast. First time in Quepos and we learned that, on the whole, it is difficult to get around but Issimo was helpful in getting us cars when needed. Also, from the looks of the town getting to the beaches doesn\'t always seem easy. Issimo had two, small beaches close by. The "difficult" hike mentioned on the website was perfect. Neither one of us is perfectly fit but by no means are we out of shape. The hike through the jungle was just perfect. I could imagine if you are out of shape it would be difficult, but you also don\'t need to be perfectly fit to make it. The quiet, peacefulness of that beach was worth it! We realized that we aren\'t big fans of the open floor concept of the rooms, not having closed bathrooms could pose a challenge for some couples but we made it work. The hot tub was nice, though it did not get "hot" just warm. Which was fine for the climate!

It was a beautiful, quiet stay tucked away in the jungle with close access to the beach. The monkeys paid us a visit on the patio and we heard them around the hotel, which was a pretty cool experience! The pool is very nice and clean and was a great way to cool off after the beach and our excursions. The staff is very friendly and helpful and they offer a lot of fun excursions and experiences you can book right from your hotel. We also booked a couples massage, which was heavenly! Highly recommend for a romantic/honeymoon/anniversary trip, especially for nature lovers!

I liked having the breakfast each morning at the outdoor restaurant and seeing the wildlife, from monkeys, iguanas, racoons, toucans, parrots, and many colorful birds. Some birds were building nests very close and it was nice and relaxing to watch. Also, i walked to the beach a few times, whoch is nearby.

El Hotel es muy pequeño con una alberca, restaurante e instalaciones pequeñas. La habitación con doble vista fue magnifica. La atención de todos los empleados es extraordinaria sumamente amables y te ayudan en todo. Sin embargo, el Hotel manifiesta en su publicidad que la playa está a 7 min. caminado...tremenda mentira, debes salir del hotel y caminar por la carretera unos 400 metros para encontrar, verdaderamente un sendero en medio del bosque lluviosos con una pendiente hacia abajo muy pronunciada, en las peores condiciones para caminar de unos 100 a 150 mts. de longitud y debes llevar todo contigo lo que vayas a necesitar, finalmente llegas a una playa pequeña con arene muy rocosa donde te venderán todo, camastros, sombrilla agua, comida...en fin Eso de que la playa está a 7 min caminado!!!!

Very nice people, room and hotel. A lot of character. It is pretty much in the jungle - quiet and interesting. The road in is very steep in places making it almost impossible to walk anywhere.

Its a small hotel on a rocky cliff face - no access to beach. Many stairs and no lift. I think we had the best room we have ever had - absolutely loved it. Room 101! Staff were lovely. Monkeys popped over - lock your balcony door after putting some banana out there. The only thing that didn't impress me was some fried reformed cheap boiled ham on a breakfast plate once - do bacon as pictured or don't bother! Breakfast was otherwise great and dinner v good though. WE ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!

The restaurant staff is absolutely incredible and friendly and the chef's food is delicious! It was the best food we had during our stay. The views from the property are amazing. Here you will be able to see monkeys, toucans etc. There is a beach not to far from the hotel. The shuttle is a bit limited, it takes you to the entry of the beach (it is accessed by walking through a short trail) and the main street which you then also have to walk towards restaurants. Walking down to Manuel Antonio Park is doable but requires walking about 45 minutes up and down steep hills. Really our enjoyed our stay and would come back
The restaurant staff is absolutely incredible and friendly and the chef's food is delicious! It was the best food we had during our stay. The views from the property are amazing. Here you will be able to see monkeys, toucans etc. There is a beach not to far from the hotel. The shuttle is a bit limited, it takes you to the entry of the beach (it is accessed by walking through a short trail) and the main street which you then also have to walk towards restaurants. Walking down to Manuel Antonio Park is doable but requires walking about 45 minutes up and down steep hills. Really our enjoyed our stay and would come back

We went here for our honeymoon- and LOVED it!! Incredible breakfast, beautiful view right from the dining area, sunsets unlike any I’ve ever seen, right from our jacuzzi. Private jacuzzi on each balcony… amazing. Also plenty of options for local tours/etc and they arrange for transportation and guides and everything. Manuel Antonio national park- amazing wildlife, worth getting a guide who can point out all the biodiversity with binoculars!! And the beach there is incredible- clear water, white sands. Not much to see as far as hiking - for avid hikers might be better to go to a different part of Costa Rica. 10-15 minute hike to several private or semi private beaches, which we enjoyed we love hiking. 20 minute walk to Manuel Antonio, several cute restaurants - would recommend Emilio’s Cafe, Monarcha (butterfly cafe & good breakfast). Don’t recommend the restaurant Sunset! Food was overpriced and not very good. Issimo’s restaurant was delicious!! Staff very prompt and kind. Definitely pricey so we went to Manuel Antonio most nights. The suites at Issimo do appear not to have been remodeled since ~2010 or earlier- so alittle older BUT we didn’t really care, found it still incredibly luxurious for us, especially for the price. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Upon arrival we were given a tour of the property and our room. Anything we asked for was provided and all staff were very attentive, friendly and helpful. Restaurant was amazing. Great patio area for relaxing and watching the monkeys play in trees on the grounds. Amazing views from deck in room, restaurant and pool area. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again if we are ever back in the area.

Stayed 2/27 through 3/1. So Ill say thay having left a luxury resort in La Fortuna to come here was an experience. This is a boutique hotel, it is important to keep this in mind and understand that it is not a luxury super resort. What this hotel lacks in modern and luxury accommodations, it more than makes up for in its tranquil location, proximity to wildlife and incredible views. Check in was super easy and Gustavo gave us a welcome drink and showed us to our room. Dinner the first night was fantastic, and there is a good drink variety. Breakfast. Ill be honest, dont have high expectations. The first breakfast was sausage (hot dog) and ham (a slice of ham). Eggs were great and juices and fruit fantastic. Our room. The bed was VERY firm. Cold AC, fully stocked fridge. Im comfortable around my wife but the shower is completely exposed, facing the bed. I didnt like that. Had an enclosed toilet but no ventilation. Endless wildlife, monkeys, macaws, etc from your balcony. Tons of restaurants and things to do in walking distance, or for $4 cab ride of you dont like the heat. Overall 5/5 but Im only allowed 1500 characters on this app.

Not a 4 star hotel. Several other hotels in the area that were offered at lower price that we should have probably gone for. The view from the restaurant is nice. The breakfast is sub par. Lizards and bugs in the room. The toilet with the mesh door is really inconvenient and leaves for unwanted smells in bedroom.

The friendliness of the staff was exceptional. They went out of their way to make your stay wonderful! The restaurant views are a 10 and the cleanliness around the property and especially the pool was impeccable. Parking was very easy and a few steps from the entrance! I highly recommend this hotel !

Staff were so polite and helpful - the hike down to the beach is amazing, I wouldn’t say it’s expert level, maybe moderate at most if you’re used to walking trails in any part of the world. Lots of little ants in the sink in the room but you need to expect bugs when in CR! The monkeys really only care to come close if you have food on the balcony. We saw all three species of monkeys in CR from our balcony it was awesome. Overall an excellent experience.

The pool is part of the rest/bar which is open to the public so very intimidating to use as a hotel amenity per se. Appreciate the effort to maintain some view from the pool by building a deck extension that goes over the pool, but felt a bit strange and unsanitary to have people walking over our heads as we tried to relax in the pool. They also didn’t honor my gold status with Expedia (for an upgrade) and also didn’t acknowledge the fact that we were there in our honeymoon - no details whatsoever although I had contacted the concierge weeks prior to our arrival. The bathroom is inside the room and only separated by a low saloon-type of swinging door, which doesn’t do much to help the romantic atmosphere we expected on our honeymoon. Overall a meh experience although the staff was polite and nice to us.

Small boutique hotel with wonderful service and beautiful rooms. We love the food, the wildlife and the views! Staff is always so friendly and helpful. So much to do in this area ans well and some of the best restaurants in the world. We’ve stayed here twice in the last 6 years and was so glad to see that not much has changed. Whenever we sit by the pool we have it all to ourselves, with plenty of monkeys, toucans, parrots around and beautiful views of the ocean and forest. Well maintained and safe area.
