The location, staff (helpful and courteous) and facilities were great. This hotel has EV charging spots by the popular side entrance. These do need to be marked to dissuade non-EV drivers as there were regularly 1-2 ICE vehicles in the four spots. There is a heated indoor pool, bar, extensive fitness and laundry facility, bar, breakfast service and suites to take care of your extended stay needs. The hotel is adjacent to a large Kroger grocery store and a strip mall with dining options, coffee and movie theatre. There is easy access to downtown Blacksburg and VA Tech (5 minutes) and Christiansburg (12 minutes) plus parks and extensive shopping options at a variety of nearby shopping centers.

Overall nice property but my sink faucet was very loose and there was a large crack in the floor of the shower. Staff were nice. Had a good breakfast. Nice pool and gym area

The place seemed to have a lot of amenities, but the pool was closed the first night and the bar was closed the second night. The streaming features didn’t work on my television and my door lock malfunctioned two times - requiring someone to come up and charge the lock. Not the worst experience, but not the best either.

Love the heated pool. Open till 10pm!

Nice location near several walkable restaurants. The hotel gym was large and clean. My kids liked the pool. Rooms were spacious and clean.

During summer kids rule the pool and eat all the food. Other times of year a great hotel with good food and a nice saline pool.

Breakfast area is a little small, only one waffle maker which created an unnecessarily long line, could add one more waffle maker. Breakfast could be upgraded a little according to the cost of one night stay at the hotel. Pool was heated, great for kids. Rooms clean and upgraded. Overall excellent stay, enjoyed. Breakfast could be better.

There were dead flies on the windowsill. A long black hair in the shower. One of the coffee mugs was dirty.

Picked this because the hotel we normally stay at in Blacksburg was fully booked! I would probably give this hotel a 3/10. If you don’t care about cleanliness, then you’ll probably be ok with it. We stayed in a king suite with a pull out couch. Unfortunately our child ended up in the bed with us instead of the sofa bed, because when we went to pull the sofa bed out, there were several long black hairs on the mattress. We could have looked past this but then when we went to get the sheets and spare blanket to make up the bed, same thing. Long black hairs on everything. I went into the bathroom upon arriving, several hairs on the floor and in and around the shower. Chipped paint, stained towels, killed a couple of bugs hanging out near the AC unit shortly after arriving. The lobby was also dirty. We arrived late, around 10:30pm. There was trash sitting out on the coffee bar, used cups etc littering the lobby. There was no one out there because it was late so I’m not sure why the desk worker couldn’t be bothered to pick up a bit since she wasn’t doing anything else it appeared. The breakfast in the morning was just as the other reviews said. Took one look and quickly passed. There was one yogurt left, and the bacon, eggs and sausage looked like they came straight from the freezer and were then put out in this make shift plastic display that was filthy, especially with all the guests having to touch it all. Just so unsanitary! We left and ate breakfast out. Will not return.

I understand it’s a pet hotel but some room should not be used for pets. Pets could be only on one floor. My room smell like a dog. My sheets smell just like a dog had been laying on them.

The room was okay but I became alarmed to find a pick comb under the cushions of the sofa bed. Clearly, the cushions had not been checked.

I made a reservation for a room w/ 2 queen beds for my family of 4. When we arrived at 1:30AM, the only room left that had 2 queens had not been cleaned. We were invited to wait 45 minutes while they cleaned it. I have 2 children & making them wait at that time of day was NOT an option. The man at the front desk kindly gave us 2 rooms each with a king. One smelled like vomit & was filthy. The floor was sticky, the night stand was sticky, the carpet had a huge stain in the middle and again, it smelled of vomit. I would not recommend this hotel nor would I recommend using this site as it described the hotel as “very clean.”

I really wanted to like this hotel. The room was spacious, modern, and well equipped. The included hot breakfast was amazing. The location was within walking distance or a short hop to restaurants, stores, a theater, and Virginia Tech. BUT some services were horrible. My first night in the room was without paper towel and with a few crumble tissues in the box and a dishwasher full with utensils, not sure if they had been washed. I called the front desk for paper towel and it rang quite a long time for someone to answer. I came back to the room the second night and found only the bed was made; nothing else was touched or cleaned. The room was completely ignored on the third night, not even a made bed, still no tissues; plates, cups, utensils were still in the dishwasher; trash was never picked up. At checkout time, I stood at the front desk for quite a long time waiting for the two people behind the glass to acknowledge my presence so that I can return the room keys and perhaps have a few words. Finally, a person walked out, took the keys, and hurried back behind the glass wall. For someone like me, who comes back to a hotel room late at night after a tough day at work, decent hotel services are things we really need.

Room was dirty

Room was dirty when we checked in - floor was sticky. there was no housekeeping for our entire four day stay. When we arrived - dirty dishes in dishwasher. I will say - Malik at the front desk was kind and promised us a small refund for the lack of care/housekeeping. Every day we dropped our dirty towels in the hallway at the housekeeping station and had to get ourselves fresh ones. We were in town for a family wedding and busy all three days - didn't spend much time in the room - so plenty of time to clean it. Also - the breakfast is awful - supposed to be from 6-10 am and one day at 9:15 all was empty - no coffee, not even a slice of bread to make toast. For almost $600 for three nights - we could have found somewhere better.

Hotel is pretty new and nice. Lobby wasn’t very clean. Room had a couple of ring stains on tables, wasn’t super clean. Property needs better attention to detail and management.

I didn't like how the room service didnt come by to clean my room. Trash and towels piled up till i had to go speak with someone. They said room service every other day. But from when i checked in i didnt get clean towels or trash taken out till the 5th day i think. Then after it was cleaned again the day after. Room was only cleaned 2 or three times i stayed. Couldnt sleep two nights due to a party in the lobby or get together. My room was next to the lobby area.

Okay property for tge price. I stay here often and theres usually always some small hiccup. This time though a little more frustrating. Neither TV would connect to internet for streaming. The box on the living room tv was blue but the bedroom one was red, neither worked. The phones in the rooms didnt work. Some areas definitely needed better cleaning. No extra bedsing in room. The pullows were incredibly musty smelling making it hard to sleep. I usually alwasy stay here when traveling this route but after this visit i may rethink that and try somewhere else.

The night we checked in we were greeted warmly and we felt welcomed. Despite the beds having low sides where it was obvious more people slept, the first night was great. Friday night was a different story. It sounded like the people above us were bowling it was so loud. The room, itself, was very nice but I’m sure the hotel was built cheaply. My white noise couldn’t even mask it. Think I finally got to sleep around midnight.

Nice place, clean, pretty quiet, spacious rooms, modern amenities, great short-term stay options (kitchen). Only issue is the WiFi and internet in the building was out the last two days of the trip

The water pressure was very low.

All in all we enjoyed our stay, and would stay here again. The staff was friendly and helpful. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms are nicely appointed. The only complaints we had were that the water pressure in our room was poor, and the deadbolt on our door did not work.

When we first entered our room it smelled odd. Turns out the carpet had been cleaned and it was still damp.

Super huge rooms and very clean

The receptionist wanted to charge us $40 to check in early (1 hour). We were already paying $400. I said no thanks!

Jade at the reception desk was really wonderful. I had so many questions and she was very patient and knowledgeable. She helped my daughter find pool towels, helped us with another issue we had and really made a positive difference to our stay.

I will never stay at a Home2Suites or use Expedia again. We were booked for 1 night and the hotel charged us for 3 nights. There is an ongoing dispute between Exedia and this hotel with regard to who should pay us the refund and I am caught in the middle and it's taking for ever to refund. Expedia has confirmed I was overcharged but can't seem to clean up the matter. I want my money back. Oh, and this hotel has rude staff.

I normally down write reviews but I felt strongly about this as it cost a pretty penny at the time of my visit and wanted to bring my concerns to management. This review would have been a 5 star expect 2 things. The hotel is nice and updated and it has an EV charger with is what I needed and the location is great. This was my 2nd time staying here, the first time was 5 stars. 1. On check in day the receptionist was not welcoming at all, it was like we were bothering her with our presence. She was seated at table in front of the buffet so when we walked in we didnt know who was working as she was at the table with another lady. We had to walk past her and she never introduced herself to let us know she’s the one who would be checking us in. Only after we were at the desk looking around did she finally slowing get up. Her attitude was bad and she was rude when we asked a question at the EV charger. We got an I don’t know and I don’t care type of answer. The other staff members were great the rest of our stay but first impressions mean a lot. 2. We had dirty dishes in the microwave and the dishwasher. The outside of the dishwasher was also dirty we didn’t discover this until day 2 when we went to use the items. This made me second guess the cleanliness of the whole room. This was really disappointing especially since we paid a much higher rate as events were happening in the area.

During on recent road trip, we stayed 1 night here. I called to tell them we would have a very late check in. When we arrived it was obvious that they gave away our room. Exhausted, I stood there for 30 minutes while they tried to find me another room. Not a good experience

New, clean, friendly staff, good location

The property was clean and modern. The electric charging station was a huge plus for me. The location was very convenient located next to a Kroger’s and other shops.

Wonderful location and has everything you need for your stay.

We were very happy with our stay. Our room was clean with comfy beds. We asked for extra pillows and they were delivered within five minutes. Our son and daughter-in-law went down to the bar and had a great time listening to the DJ and having a beer. We went to two wonderful restaurants; The Bull and Bones and Avellinos, each 0.10 miles away (walkable). VT is 1.4 miles away, great for going to a game. I recommend Home 2 Suites.

Overall I had a good stay at this hotel. The location is great. The room was spacious and very comfortable. There is a small kitchenette with a refrigerator and a dishwasher. It is close to Vtech campus (not walkable). The breakfast was too basic, nothing to rave about but was enough for me. Due to short staff, I had to change my sheets the very first night. Thus, after paying 400$ per night, you expect to get a room with clean sheets.

I've stayed at this property with my dog twice while she was treated at the Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. The location cannot be beaten, and the staff has always been caring, professional, and helpful. It is within walking distance of shopping and restaurants, and an easy drive to Virginia Tech.

Stayed here recently with a group of guys on a motorcycle trip. The room was spotlessly clean and well furnished with a small kitchen. The hotel is also conveniently located next to a shopping center with several restaurants.

Perfect place to stay while visiting VA Tech.

Great accommodations and very friendly staff. Only negative was the quality of food offered at the breakfast. The waffles and syrup had zero flavor. And the breakfast sandwiches were not appetizing. Generally I enjoy the breakfasts offered at hotels but this one is lacking. I did enjoy the fresh cookies in the afternoon though.

Property and room were good. Arrived after 5 and a room wasn’t ready yet. They gave us free drinks while we waited. Breakfast was not great. They were not on top of keeping everyone stocked and had to ask.

Extremely comfortable bed, huge bathroom with a great shower, excellent water pressure and a good breakfast with great coffee!
