Great except long hike to room up stairs with no Elevator, especially with luggage

Friendly staff, nice cafe area and selection of cakes. On site parking, close to restaurants and pubs, competitively priced and good breakfast also available. Slept well, shower finally was warm for second morning.

It is a lovely hotel situated in the heart of Annan. The staff were very friendly and responsive to any needs. The full Scottish breakfast was delightful, and we were pleased to find good options for my Vegan wife. Parking options were good, with the car park right behind the hotel and another right across the road. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

Location excellent, breakfast excellent. The bar “the shed” next door was lots of fun. Only small issue was no hot water first night but was quickly resolved after talking with reception. Having no member of staff on reception after 10pm and being international, we couldn’t call telephone numbers provided. Overall had a great time and would come back for another stay.

On a positive note the hotel was clean, staff were friendly and helpful and there was a small bar for use if required. I had standard double room which was comfortable and clean. Only minor moan was the bathroom was a bit small but that would not prevent me from staying at the corner house again. I only had breakfast on the last morning as I was out very early on other days which was a shame as the breakfast I did have was very good nicely cooked and plenty of choice. Evening meals were not available, which was also a shame as I heard that the food served at the corner house is very good indeed. Overall a good choice if your visiting the area on either business or pleasure.

This hotel is clean and comfortable and the staff are very nice, some reviews complain about the décor and the noise this is an older property in the centre of Annan. This is reflected in the excellent value for money. Free parking , Breakfast ,good WiFi and nice people. Its not 5* but I did not pay 5* prices. I would stay here again.

It would have been better if I knew in advance that there were 26 steps on stairway to reception. In fact I would not have chosen that hotel. It would be good if access was always in hotel description

Staff were fantastic. I didn’t eat at the facility but the food was all home cooked and looked great. Room was a bit dated but extremely clean and comfortable. Very reasonable. Thank you!

The hotel was great value for the price that we paid. The room was small, but spotlessly clean. The staff were great, really friendly and welcoming. We had the vegetarian breakfast in the morning which we thoroughly enjoyed, so much so that we returned mid afternoon to the hotel for coffee and cake which was delicious.

Check was ok. The toilet in my room hadn’t been cleaned, the bowel was all stained. It was supposed to be a double room, but it was only a three quarter bed. Other than that the room was clean. Tea and coffee making facilities were good. Fan provided which was a godsend as it was hot. The staff were very friendly. The breakfast was excellent, thoroughly recommend the Scottish breakfast.

Spotless, both bedroom and bathroom, comfy bed, exceptional value, will recommend to family and friends, we only stayed one night but will deffinately go back again? Receptionist was very friendly.

What trip advisor does not tell you, the car park is 70 yards from the front door of the property. When you get to the front door you are then met by a fight of stairs to reception, I would say that is not for the mobility challenged. Staff and owners are welcoming - but, it really does not make up for the tired interior, mis matched carpets, dodgy floor boards and slight damp smell that travels through the building. The bedroom I stayed in was heated by an electric heater that even when on max did not take the chill off the room. I slept in my coat under the duvet. The window seals gas has gone leading to condensation and has impacted the “double glazing” (perhaps contributing to the col. I upgraded for breakfast and it was a sorry mistake. There are plenty of other local options that are at a lower price point. Unfortunately in the room the electric shower did not work and the water pressure was very low, given the cold room it was not a pleasant experience to shower. I would recommend that you take your own shampoo and body wash as there are no single use products supplied - meaning you cannot check the ingredients in the soap dispenser. I ended up with an allergic reaction - my face ballooned and my eyes were bloated. As I said staff were nice - but it really doesn’t make up for the accommodation. On my stay the hotel was surrounded by scaffolding. Your stay will also be above a sports bar - that is worth bearing in mind depending on the reason for your visit.

We were recommended to stay in Annan as a great stop off point back from Isle of Skye. On our journey down, we experienced some delays. I rang the hotel as soon as I realised we weren’t going to make check in time. The gentleman I spoke to was very unhelpful and frankly rude. He told me he could wait 30mins but if we didn't arrive by then, we would be locked out with no refund. He wouldn’t budge on this no matter what I said. We ended up speeding the last 2hrs of driving to make up the time, not stopping for fuel. We ended up getting to the hotel with literally 0 fuel, and late still. The receptionist changed his tune once we arrived, saying he would’ve waited anyway. It’s like he got a kick out of making us rush. The hotel itself in short was dirty, smelly, had tepid water in the room, and next to a very rowdy pub with barely glass for windows. I will stick to chain hotel from now on, at least the standard is as advertised.

We stayed four nights here for an event we were attending. The location is in the center of town near shops and a few restaurants, convenient for us as we did not have a car. The building is an older historic building, with a rather long flight of stairs up from the ground floor to reception and our room on the main floor of the building. The check in staff were courteous though young and seemed inexperienced. We had a twin room that was quite small; it was manageable but somewhat inconvenient for an older person. The first two nights were pretty quiet. The last two nights were very noisy due to a pub on the ground floor that had live music and boisterous patrons until midnight. The weekend hotel staff person was a friendly local who did his best to help us with restaurants and taxis. The breakfast menu leans towards the hearty side, but lighter options were available. Overall a well located, friendly hotel. It misses a higher rating mostly due to the pub noise.

For a 3* property, it's fine. I chose it because there is little else in Annan and was attending an event in the hotel so it was convenient. The bed was very soft and sagging, there are off white curtains on the window so at 5.30 am it felt as if someone was shining a torch into my eyes, there is a not very pleasant shower curtain hanging into the bath, the towels are thin, as are the walls. That said, it's cheap and not the worst 3* hotel I've stayed in.

Advertise that there will be earplugs due to the noise. Lots of noise, no earplugs.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable but curtains were too light. Lovley breakfast. Would stay again but dose need updating urgently.

Room above a bar that doesn’t shut until 2am. Got up and drive home at 5am it was that bad

Christine at check in, and the lady at check out were both great. Room was adequate enough for an overnight stay. Bed comfortable, room and bathroom clean. However, don’t expect to be asleep any time before midnight. Unsure if it was noisy guest/thin walls or patrons of the bar below but expect a lot of shouting and noise, especially if you are given a room on the first floor.

I suspect most of the positive reviews of this property on Expedia are fake. To start off, the girl at the front desk tried to claim that we needed to pay £100 pounds more for our room for the night, despite the fact that we had already paid the roughly £80 cost of the room already through Expedia, she claimed that refreshing her computer screen made the apparent massive price difference go away. The room we received was at the far end of the hotel right beside/ above a extremely noisy sports bar, with loud rambunctious crowds into the wee hours of the night. When we went to use the shower, it was almost impossible to get a suitable temperature of water, it was either freezing cold or scalding hot, and then not long into the shower, it would just stop completely for no reason, making showering almost impossible. The room itself is extremely dated and worn out, and quite cramped. The bed also was in very poor shape, to the point where you would sink right thru the mattress. There also was effectively no parking available in the lot for the hotel as it was full of bar patrons vehicles.

It would be useful to have a small bottle of shampoo available, there were only 2 small bottles of shower gel. Dining nearby is a bit limited, they are currently recruiting for an evening chef so there are no evening meals available. There are only a couple of take-aways open in the evening on the High Street. There is a lovely park down by the river only about 5 minutes walk away. The bus station and train station is about 5 minutes away too with easy access to Dumfries and Carlisle where you can change trains across the national network.

Excellent budget accommodation. Very comfortable beds. Superb breakfast. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone with walking/stairs issues though but anyone else looking for a budget stay with a great breakfast I would highly recommend.

Would have been so much better but its advertised with a restaurant but does not do food after breakfast!. Unfortunatly neither do the pubs in the town after 7pm, so had to have a take away!!
