The lot was great. We couldn't ask for a better spot of land to visit. It was a quite area with beautiful views all the way around. The inside could use a bit of care. We expected rustic and that's one of the places charms. There were many positives such as a ping-pong table, plenty of sleeping space, and lots of television options. Opportunities included the bathroom and other areas could use a serious look. We didn't shower (we were only there overnight) due to the shower conditions. Grout scrubbing is definitely needed. Several easy fixes, such as a broken towel holder (hanging from plaster torn off wall) and safety issues (sidewalk lights broken with exposed metal, mice, and curtains with wasp nest in garage converted game area) would enhance the stay. Communication with owners was excellent and they are very pet friendly. They even had homemade canned vegetables and preserves you could purchase. Overall, the stay was comfortable. With a little light touches, it could be a great get-away space.

We had a great time being able to relax as a family. Lots of wildlife with great fishing. The only issue we had was the tub, my child had to lifted in and out of because it was really deep which could totally be a plus for some.

Perfect little hideaway to rest and decompress! Cute place with beautiful view on a small little private lake. We really enjoyed the garage being a little family fun place with ping pong and extra dining space since the kitchen is pretty small. Worked great for us.

Once again, perfect setting to relax with perfect amenities. Our grandson enjoys this cabin as much as us and was so sad the weekend was over. We'll be back.

I have stayed there multiple time , each time was great . Very secluded but close to Rend lake . The recent upgrades to the upstairs is a wonderful improvement. Hope to stay there many times more in the future

Our stay at lake and oaks was wonderful. The location of the house was nice, private, and peaceful. Fishing the lake was an added bonus. The house was clean and welcoming and we really didn't want to leave when the time came. We were close to Rend Lake for extra fishing and drove down to Garden of the Gods, Cave in rock, and giant city state park for a day trip. Communication with the host was easy and she answered any questions we had quickly, even checked in on us after some bad weather had passed through. The whole stay was a wonderful experience and we really hope to return someday.

We’ve stayed here 4 times now. It’s so peaceful nobody to bother us. Town is close with great food at the Anchor Grille. Fishing was great they were really biting this time of year! Sure would like to get a boat on that water! Hopefully someday. Thanks for everything Shalan!
