Charming 2Bd 1Bth Cottage near River - Melwood

Mom had a great time for her birthday, and glad there was a grill out back! Loved the area and close to downtown.

We truly enjoyed our week here in this cheery little house with all it's fun Florida-esque touches! It is CLEAN, comfy and relaxing. We loved having our coffee on the front porch in the mornings, waving back at the nice neighbors, and walking around the neighborhood and along the river ourselves, before heading out for the day's activities. A few minute's drive to the beach and shopping. Thank you again, Pedro and Laura!

The place was cozy, hosts were very thoughtful and always responsive. The house was well equipped with outdoor space and minutes walk to the river. Will stay again!

We were amazed by the great location and comfort of this cozy home. We had an easy walk along the river just out our front door. The home has a spacious, well-appointed, fenced in back yard that was perfect for our dog to play and great for us to hang out in. Minutes from shopping, dining and a short drive to the beach. Highly recommend!

Enjoyed my stay. Beautifully decorated with a "Keys" theme. Pups loved the back yard lots of room to run around and play. Met the owner we watched our three pups play. Sandy and Sonic gave the area two paws up. Ocean air, gentle breeze off the beaten path. Pedro and Laurie are great hosts helping me with any question I had. If you would like a quiet relaxing get away you have found it.

Great little house! Jack-and-jill bathroom was a little cramped but functional. The fact that they offered laundry equipment was terrific.

We needed a place to stay for a short 3 day work assignment. We decided to try VRBO as hotels/motels are a hassle. Melwood Cottage will absolutely not disappoint! Very tastefully decorated, very interesting books to read from local history to herbal gardening, surfing, etc. It is plenty roomy, very fresh and clean in a very quiet neighborhood. The kitchen is well appointed with utensils, cookware, all the basics plus extras. The main bed was comfortable and there is also a second bedroom with a day bed but we did not use that room. It is nice that they allow you to use the laundry although we did not need to. Don't hesitate or wait to book if you want a very charming home away from home get away!

Great sight centrally located to our visit in a quiet neighborhood, with everything we needed. Loved having the washer and dryer available for use! Great host communication

Very nice and relaxing. The House has been modernized in a very charming way. It keeps the old style of the area near the River , but is well equiped with air con and a good kitchen. Very quite (exept the train passing near by from time to time) and close to the City Center with very good restaurants. The beach is close and also very beautiful. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Rented a nice home for the night, quiet neighborhood,clean and cozy.

HOST: The host(s) attempted intimidation from the start. They sent us two separate e-mails that threatened to cancel our reservation if we didn't pay an (unspecified) balance due. Everything had been prepaid. Then the host sent a blunt e-mail about our having to take out the recycle and trash bins. When we arrived Wednesday afternoon the trash bin, located right near the front porch, reeked of rotting fish. Hard to say when it had been last emptied, but it stunk throughout our stay. The final host intimidation came in a threatening e-mail saying if we checked out more than 15 minutes late, we'd be charged an additional 25, and if over an hour late there would be an additional full day's charge. We locked the door on checkout day at 10:45 AM to leave, then tried to quickly re-enter briefly to check for my wife's earrings, but the entry code would no longer work! NOISE: Nowhere in the advertising was a train mentioned that runs past every couple of hours, 24/7, blowing its loud whistle repeatedly, sounding like it's passing through the front yard of the cottage. We paid the pet fee and took our Shih Tzu with us, only to have it frightened day and night by the ungodly train noise. And restful sleep was impossible. UNSATISFACTORY FEATURE: A hair dryer was furnished among the bathroom amenities, but there's no electrical outlet in the bathroom to use it or anything else (i.e., electric razor, curling iron, etc.)! FURNISHINGS: The cottage was very well furnished throughout.

I came here for a little getaway by myself and absolutely loved it. The house was so cute, clean, and comfortable. The hosts were responsive and checked in to see if I needed anything. I would definitely stay here again. The only negative was the train horns but nothing they can do about that.

am extremely disappointed with this property and feel it’s important to share our experience for the safety and awareness of future guests. Upon arrival, we found dead bees scattered across the floors, a couple live bees flying inside the house, and ants throughout several areas. The most alarming moment was when a live roach crawled on my husband in the bedroom something no guest should ever have to encounter.The cleanliness and maintenance of this property were far below expectations. Additionally, the listing clearly advertised “waterfront,” but there was absolutely no water access of any kind. This was misleading and added to our overall disappointment.

The property was very clean. The air conditioner was already on which made the home comfortable. Lots of communication from Logan about how to enter and exit the home. It was nice not to be obligated to strip the bed and start laundry before we left. We would use them again for our next trip to Florida.

The house was well cleaned, stocked and we enjoyed the decorations and books. It was a lovely stay

Great little house, had a good time with family that would come over for the day to eat & or just hang out. Very quiet friendly neighborhood with the occasional train going by during the day but not a big deal. Quick 90 second walk, literally right around the corner to the Indian River. Plenty of things to discover in Brevard County, beaches, parks, restaurants, entertainment. Would stay again! Geoff Newark,OH

This is an older house. Positives....The Owner have gone to great length to a wonderful experience. However, the neighborhood is not for everyone. There is train noise at night....and I hate to say this but someone was walking on our roof the first night, and it was not an animal.

It was a lovely cozy/charming little house. I was able to enjoy and get work done. I met the owner's who went above and beyond to my stay more enjoyable by providing resources and information. There is a train noise but it didn't bother me. I will rent the place again.

Mind you the cottage is old and for the age it’s adorable. It was perfect for my daughter, her dog and myself. Yes you hear a train go by but it wasn’t loud. Very quiet area people were friendly, when you bumped into someone. We did have an internet issue but it was taken care of quickly. The owner and staff are great very responsive. One thing that I found not as I thought, was the yard, was very small not room for a dog to run around. We enjoyed our stay!! Thank you!

We loved staying in this quiet coastal cottage! Close to downtown while still an intimate setting. Hosts were extremely accommodating and communicative. Would highly recommend and would not hesitate to stay again.

Our month long stay was great. The cottage was so beautifully decorated. We did have issues with paying for the cottage. I had to contact the VRBO folks each time a payment was due. Overall the property manager quickly addressed any issues. We would stay there againn

We had a problem partly through our stay (no fault of the host or property) and the host worked with us to find the perfect solution in a very timely and helpful manner. Greatly appreciated their help in making our stay perfect.

It is a cute little bungalow that fit our needs. We were in town for a single night and needed a place to bed down. The spot is great, just a block off the inter coastal and a block off US1. Plenty of eateries close by. We took in Aunt Loiuse's Italian place up the road a bit closer to our appointed destination...a new puppy we took home the next morning!!! It was clean and the hosts were very nice before and during the stay. I would definitely book again if the need arises. Thanks,

This is a precious little house! The owners have it decorated so nicely and the furniture was so comfortable. The house is located very close to the beach and lots of stores and restaurants.

We enjoyed a short stay. Very cute and charming cottage. Owners were very responsive with questions. Easy checkin/checkout. Very clean and comfortable. Note this property is not on the river, which was kind of confusing due to some of the photos on the listing. You can take a short walk around the block which is nice but there is no river access (private property.) we took a day trip over the bridge and had. Really nice day on Indiatlantic beach.

The house was neat and clean, easy to access. We enjoyed everything about it with the exception of the missing river views. The listing indicating “outdoor dining” with river views was deceptive and was a big reason we chose the house. Our family enjoys dropping a kayak in the river in the evening, sitting out and watching the kids paddle around and despite requesting information about the suitability for this, there was no confirmation or denial that it would work. It turns out, you can’t see the river and going to the area pictured in the listing seems invasive to the home in the front of the property. It just wasn’t what we expected from the listing. Otherwise, the house was fine - clean, well stocked, and worked for sleeping. We enjoyed the beaches nearby.
