The Forge

Unique property set on a beautiful estate. Gentle walks to round the estate. Beautiful walk to the private beach however only suitable for the fit. View of the main house from the path excellent and the sea views. Oyster & Fish restaurant in Lyme very good, as is the Strawberry House. Our only negative was there were areas of the property had not been dusted. Bathrooms were fresh & clean, as were the bedrooms. This beautiful property was further enhanced with a great courtyard to enjoy an outdoor space.

The Forge is a beautiful house on the Rousdon Estate. It sleeps 4 humans plus dogs very comfortably. The house has a lovely courtyard garden with a table and chairs for eating outside. The interior is well laid out and beautifully decorated. There is a lovely kitchen/ dining area and a spacious living room. Everything is well presented and spotless. The estate is lovely to walk round and the walk to the private beach- although long and steep in parts- is well worth it. Rousdon Estate is within easy driving distance of Lyme Regis, Axmouth, Seaton and Axminster. We had some lovely days out to these places and further afield in Lulworth Cove and Durdle Dor. There are lots of lovely shops and restaurants/cafes in Lyme Regis and we had a lovely meal in the Harbour pub in Axmouth, which is dog friendly. I can’t recommend the Forge highly enough and would most definitely stay there again.
