We absolutely loved our stay on Daufuskie! This house is truly incredible. All furnishings and accommodations, from the towels to the baking sheets to the coat hangers, are top quality. The bathrooms are gorgeous and the water pressure is excellent — and we never ran out of hot water, even with two adults and four teenagers taking showers every evening. Bonus points for the brand new, large capacity washer and dryer. Tammy is fantastic and I truly appreciate the thoughtfulness that the owners put into this property. We look forward to staying here on our next visit to Daufuskie. Other tips — the beach chairs were a little worn and don’t recline, so we rented chairs that were set up daily. We used our own Shibumi shade and those are definitely popular! We meal planned and brought everything we needed for our breakfasts and dinners, and I was glad we did because it stormed most evenings and we didn’t want to take the golf cart across the island in the rainy dark. We explored the island restaurants for lunches and had a lot of fun - don’t miss Frye’s Corner! It is a little wild driving past the abandoned resort but we also kind of loved it. The Oyster House does a great job and while we didn’t use the pool, it is a great and close (walkable from the house) option.

Beautifully decorated and immaculately clean! More than enough space for our family of 4 and Bulldog - the bedrooms are huge. We couldn’t get the fireplace to work and the bikes were rough, but everything else was perfect! Great beach for walking and the ruins of the abandoned resort are fascinating. Had a great time, we’ll be back!

What a fabulous location! First row on Melrose Beach. Tons of windows overlooking the grassy dune and ocean beyond. Sunrise is directly in front of the property. Clean and beautifully decorated. New 6 person electric golf cart to explore all Daufuskie has to offer. Hosts/owners were local, helpful and friendly. I am certain we will become repeat guests. This location can’t be beat!

The beach and home are both gorgeous, and are just as pictured on the listing. However, there were several parts of the listing that turned out to be inaccurate. As long as you are aware of these items, I wouldn't hesitate to book again. The list of amenities for the house states that guests have access to a pool. It wasn't until after I had paid the money that I found out that the pool would not be open while we were there, and even if it had been, there would be a fee to use it. Also, we were especially hoping to use the bicycles and paddleboards that were advertised as coming with the house. There was only one sad, rusted bike that needed air in the tires, and no paddleboards. When I reached out to the host about these items, the paddleboards did eventually show up, on the last day of our visit, but there was no communication from the host. Also, we had several smaller issues with the kitchen. In addition, since we had never been to Daufuskie before, we were unaware of the defunct resort and decrepit buildings that you pass through each time you leave the cottage. There were very few restaurants or stores open on the days of the week that we visited, so planning ahead and bringing groceries is critical. Despite all of these issues, the home really was beautifully decorated and all the finishes were high end. The beach was spectacular, as hardly anyone was there, and we felt like we almost had our own private beach, just a short walk across the grass.

The cottage was clean, beautiful and oceanfront just as stated on the VRBO. Kitchen was fully stocked and there was not anything you could wish for that was not there. Porch was great and spent a great deal of time there. Loved that the golf cart was included along with bikes, We will be back!

Our family of 4 from the upstate had an amazing stay at this beachfront property on Daufuskie Island. The beach was clean, peaceful, and never crowded - we visited every day. The included golf cart made exploring a breeze, taking us to museum, farm, restaurants, and scenic spots around the island. I was intially concerned about the electric cart range, but it lasted all day with barely any battery loss.The property was spotless and offered easy access to the beach. The hosptiality went above and beyond - my wife accidentally left her wedding ring behind, and they promptly mailed it back to us, saving us from another ferry trip.This is the perfect spot for families with younger kids who wnat relaxation, fun, and a touch of adventure.We'll definitely be back!PS - Tons of deer and wildlife here as well!

This property is just perfect. Great location in the Melrose Community with easy beach access. We loved the bonfire pit on cool spring nights. We used the bikes, boogie boards and golf cart daily. The interior is stylish and comfortable. We absolutely loved our stay and we will be back!

I was nervous planning this trip given the need to book the boat to the island, the shuttle to our beach house and limited restaurants and the checkin process but honestly they literally give you all the info and made it easy! Everyone was so kind and the island was such a fun adventure - the house was incredible, back porch amazing for sunrises/sunsets - the beach/water was perfect and had it almost all to ourselves! The showers, beds, amenities and kitchen were #1! Golf cart was perfect-few bikes needed air in tires. Owner met us at checkin and was incredibly welcoming to my husband and I, my in laws, kids and bull mastiff dog, Theo. They had chairs for the beach we used everyday, nice beach towels and even boogie boards for the kids. We had a fire in the fire pit one evening. Our only confusion/challenge was we got to island on Monday and general store I guess is closed on Mon, Tuesdays so we couldnt get groceries til Wed. Fortunately we brought enough things in our cooler but that was hard as well and figuring out where to eat. Not a lot of options and many things close early or have off hours. Once we understood the island and Daufuskie time we were good but took a bit. I would totally recommend Joe Bie Maison, at Dan for transportation in his boats and Pat is wonderful as well with Daufuskie Life! Book it - you won’t regret it!

Our brief 3 night stay met and exceeded our expectations. The cottage was beautifully decorated and exceptionally clean. I enjoyed reading on the porch while listening to the waves. The kitchen had everything we needed, and we ate all of our meals in, although we heard good things about the restaurants on the island. Thank you for providing the basics so we could pack light. We also enjoyed the well-stocked game cabinet!! This was our first trip to Daufuskie, and my family of five was delighted with the island. We enjoyed the privacy and the wilderness. We went to School Grounds Coffee and learned about making indigo, and visited the winery and lighthouse, and made a quick stop to admire the beautiful church. Captain Dan brought us over to the island from Savannah, and Daufuskie Life was our shuttle to our cottage--we were pleased with and would recommend both services. Thank you for hosting us! We hope to return!

We stayed at this property for four days, the hosts, Tammy & Kurt were fantastic and easy to reach. The home was beautifully finished, super clean, and the beds were so comfortable. We would absolutely book with JonBie Maisons again!

We can not say enough about this place. We had such an amazing time, we already planning our next visit! The cottage was sooo clean and absolutely beautiful we had everything we needed to cook amazing meals while we were there as we did bring some things for a couple of dinners and quick lunches. The views were stunning and we loved being able to walk right down to the the ocean! The melrose beach club being so close was another plus. The pool was amazing! We did every thing on the island you could and having the golf cart was deff a must. We had an easy time getting our ferry and ground transportation. We used HHI and they were incredible. I would absolutely recommend staying here ane we will be back asap!.Huge thank you to Tammy for assisting us with all our questions and needs. 10/10

We had a wonderful time at the cottage. Check-in was easy and hosts were very communicative. The rental property was spotless and well stocked with kitchen items, toiletries, towels, etc. Everything you could need. Beautiful location and great cottage. Will be back!

We’ve stayed in several great places on Daufuskie (in the Melrose cottages) and this was the best yet! The inside is completely renovated and gorgeous. Very high end finishes and one of the best mattresses we’ve ever slept on. Huge views of the beach and ocean, great porch to hang out on, and a fire pit for the family at night. We absolutely loved this place. Booking and communications with the property managers (Tammy & Kurt) was easy, helpful and friendly. They live in the Melrose area too so it was nice to have them handy in case we had questions. Phenomenal beachfront cottage!

The house is absolutely beautiful. The amount of work and detail they put into it is amazing. The view of the beach sunrise from almost every room and the back porch is just breathtaking. The owner himself met me and went over everything about the island. We couldn’t have been more pleased with our stay.

The bathrooms are gorgeous and the water pressure is excellent — and we never ran out of hot water, even with two adults and four teenagers taking showers every evening. Bonus points for the brand new, large capacity washer and dryer. Tammy is fantastic and I truly appreciate the thoughtfulness that the owners put into this property. We look forward to staying here on our next visit to Daufuskie. Other tips — the beach chairs were a little worn and don’t recline, so we rented chairs that were set up daily. We used our own Shibumi shade and those are definitely popular! We meal planned and brought everything we needed for our breakfasts and dinners, and I was glad we did because it stormed most evenings and we didn’t want to take the golf cart across the island in the rainy dark. We explored the island restaurants for lunches and had a lot of fun - don’t miss Frye’s Corner! It is a little wild driving past the abandoned resort but we also kind of loved it. The Oyster House does a great job and while we didn’t use the pool, it is a great and close (walkable from the house) option.

We had a wonderful stay in a beautiful location. The house was a perfect location, well appointed, and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking as it is winter and the restaurants were not at full schedule. So much fun cruising around in the golf cart included in the rental. A nest of bald eagles and dauphins gliding was the icing on the week!

Beautifully decorated and immaculately clean! More than enough space for our family of 4 and Bulldog - the bedrooms are huge. We couldn’t get the fireplace to work and the bikes were rough, but everything else was perfect! Great beach for walking and the ruins of the abandoned resort are fascinating. Had a great time, we’ll be back!

What a fabulous location! First row on Melrose Beach. Tons of windows overlooking the grassy dune and ocean beyond. Sunrise is directly in front of the property. Clean and beautifully decorated. New 6 person electric golf cart to explore all Daufuskie has to offer. Hosts/owners were local, helpful and friendly. I am certain we will become repeat guests. This location can’t be beat!

The Beachcomber was very comfortable and up-dated. We enjoyed the porch overlooking the ocean with two ceiling fans. We spent much of our time relaxing and enjoying the scenery. This was our second trip to Daufuskie Island and we plan to return next year. The accommodations were as described. A great place to spend a week for relaxation and being in touch with nature.

We can not say enough about this place. We had such an amazing time, we already planning our next visit! The cottage was sooo clean and absolutely beautiful we had everything we needed to cook amazing meals while we were there as we did bring some things for a couple of dinners and quick lunches. The views were stunning and we loved being able to walk right down to the the ocean! The melrose beach club being so close was another plus. The pool was amazing! We did every thing on the island you could and having the golf cart was deff a must. We had an easy time getting our ferry and ground transportation. We used HHI and they were incredible. I would absolutely recommend staying here ane we will be back asap!.Huge thank you to Tammy for assisting us with all our questions and needs. 10/10

We’ve stayed in several great places on Daufuskie (in the Melrose cottages) and this was the best yet! The inside is completely renovated and gorgeous. Very high end finishes and one of the best mattresses we’ve ever slept on. Huge views of the beach and ocean, great porch to hang out on, and a fire pit for the family at night. We absolutely loved this place. Booking and communications with the property managers (Tammy & Kurt) was easy, helpful and friendly. They live in the Melrose area too so it was nice to have them handy in case we had questions. Phenomenal beachfront cottage!

Everything was perfect! The house was absolutely beautiful and the decor was amazing. The rooms were big, comfortable, very clean, and the views were stunning! I could even clearly see the sunrise over the ocean from my extremely comfortable king sized bed. I’ll be dreaming about the views from back porch! Sitting there having meals with my friends as we watched dolphins in the ocean is something I’ll never forget. We loved using the golf cart and the bikes! It was the perfect location for us and we could easily get around the island from here. The super easy beach access was also amazing! The house was well stocked with anything we needed and more. The hosts communication was quick and friendly. I feel like I found a magical place and look forward to staying here many more times in the future.

The beach and home are both gorgeous, and are just as pictured on the listing. However, there were several parts of the listing that turned out to be inaccurate. As long as you are aware of these items, I wouldn't hesitate to book again. The list of amenities for the house states that guests have access to a pool. It wasn't until after I had paid the money that I found out that the pool would not be open while we were there, and even if it had been, there would be a fee to use it. Also, we were especially hoping to use the bicycles and paddleboards that were advertised as coming with the house. There was only one sad, rusted bike that needed air in the tires, and no paddleboards. When I reached out to the host about these items, the paddleboards did eventually show up, on the last day of our visit, but there was no communication from the host. Also, we had several smaller issues with the kitchen. In addition, since we had never been to Daufuskie before, we were unaware of the defunct resort and decrepit buildings that you pass through each time you leave the cottage. There were very few restaurants or stores open on the days of the week that we visited, so planning ahead and bringing groceries is critical. Despite all of these issues, the home really was beautifully decorated and all the finishes were high end. The beach was spectacular, as hardly anyone was there, and we felt like we almost had our own private beach, just a short walk across the grass.

Our family of 4 from the upstate had an amazing stay at this beachfront property on Daufuskie Island. The beach was clean, peaceful, and never crowded - we visited every day. The included golf cart made exploring a breeze, taking us to museum, farm, restaurants, and scenic spots around the island. I was intially concerned about the electric cart range, but it lasted all day with barely any battery loss.The property was spotless and offered easy access to the beach. The hosptiality went above and beyond - my wife accidentally left her wedding ring behind, and they promptly mailed it back to us, saving us from another ferry trip.This is the perfect spot for families with younger kids who wnat relaxation, fun, and a touch of adventure.We'll definitely be back!PS - Tons of deer and wildlife here as well!

Kurt and Tammy were wonderful and provide superior service; even greeted us as we arrived to go over everything we needed to know about the house and island. They went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful stay and the information packet they provide is extremely beneficial. Charming comfortable home with a beautiful setting! We spent two days at the property and were glad to be there when a storm came through and trapped us in the house. We just enjoyed hanging out in the house! Management checked in with us regularly and we had no problems whatsoever. We would definitely stay here again!

The cottage was lovely, the view of the ocean from the screen porch was perfect. Daufuskie Island is a great place to reset. There are very few people, beautiful nature and plenty of animals. There really isn’t much to do other than relax, read, beach and the history tour so if you want an active night life this is not the place for you.

Wonderful oceanfront cottage. Comfortable and a quick walk to the beach. Great place for kids to swim in the ocean safely. Management was very helpful and responsive. Island is very quiet with minimal groceries and restaurants but great that it is secluded and not commercialized. Totally easy to bring groceries and supplement as needed on the island. Highly recommend.

This was our 2nd time visiting Daufuskie and staying in Melrose. The cottage is exactly as pictured and the rental company checked on us via text and responded quickly. We truly didn't have any issues during our 6 day stay. You need to plan ahead (book ferry, land trans to the cottage, cart if not included and groceries) but the companies we used make it easy. I recommend putting all of your groceries in extra large storage duffel bags before getting on the ferry. Melrose Oyster House has a small grocery store if you need something quick like ice but I wouldn't buy all of your groceries on the island. The beach is quiet and extremely clean, I didn't see a single piece of trash. We will certainly be back!

We look forward to staying here on our next visit to Daufuskie. Other tips — the beach chairs were a little worn and don’t recline, so we rented chairs that were set up daily. We used our own Shibumi shade and those are definitely popular! We meal planned and brought everything we needed for our breakfasts and dinners, and I was glad we did because it stormed most evenings and we didn’t want to take the golf cart across the island in the rainy dark. We explored the island restaurants for lunches and had a lot of fun - don’t miss Frye’s Corner! It is a little wild driving past the abandoned resort but we also kind of loved it. The Oyster House does a great job and while we didn’t use the pool, it is a great and close (walkable from the house) option.

Fantastic vacation. We practically had the whole beach to ourselves. Highly recommend. Be sure to bring your own groceries for the length of your stay— groceries on the island are very limited.

We had a wonderful stay in a beautiful location. The house was a perfect location, well appointed, and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking as it is winter and the restaurants were not at full schedule. So much fun cruising around in the golf cart included in the rental. A nest of bald eagles and dauphins gliding was the icing on the week!

Our brief 3 night stay met and exceeded our expectations. The cottage was beautifully decorated and exceptionally clean. I enjoyed reading on the porch while listening to the waves. The kitchen had everything we needed, and we ate all of our meals in, although we heard good things about the restaurants on the island. Thank you for providing the basics so we could pack light. We also enjoyed the well-stocked game cabinet!! This was our first trip to Daufuskie, and my family of five was delighted with the island. We enjoyed the privacy and the wilderness. We went to School Grounds Coffee and learned about making indigo, and visited the winery and lighthouse, and made a quick stop to admire the beautiful church. Captain Dan brought us over to the island from Savannah, and Daufuskie Life was our shuttle to our cottage--we were pleased with and would recommend both services. Thank you for hosting us! We hope to return!

Wonderful oceanfront cottage. Comfortable and a quick walk to the beach. Great place for kids to swim in the ocean safely. Management was very helpful and responsive. Island is very quiet with minimal groceries and restaurants but great that it is secluded and not commercialized. Totally easy to bring groceries and supplement as needed on the island. Highly recommend.

This was our 2nd time visiting Daufuskie and staying in Melrose. The cottage is exactly as pictured and the rental company checked on us via text and responded quickly. We truly didn't have any issues during our 6 day stay. You need to plan ahead (book ferry, land trans to the cottage, cart if not included and groceries) but the companies we used make it easy. I recommend putting all of your groceries in extra large storage duffel bags before getting on the ferry. Melrose Oyster House has a small grocery store if you need something quick like ice but I wouldn't buy all of your groceries on the island. The beach is quiet and extremely clean, I didn't see a single piece of trash. We will certainly be back!

Our second trip to Daufuskie Island was absolutely wonderful, and Tammy and her team played a huge role in making it so memorable. From the start, they helped us with all the logistics, ensuring everything was smooth and stress-free. Whether it was recommending activities, guiding us on where to explore, or simply being available for any questions, they truly made us feel at home. Our daughters, ages 4 and 8, can’t stop talking about how much fun they had! We spent hours searching for sand dollars and starfish on the beach, and our nightly sand crab hunts became a favorite family tradition. I was nervous planning this trip given the need to book the boat to the island, the shuttle to our beach house and limited restaurants and the checkin process but honestly they literally give you all the info and made it easy! Everyone was so kind and the island was such a fun adventure - the house was incredible, back porch amazing for sunrises/sunsets - the beach/water was perfect and had it almost all to ourselves! The showers, beds, amenities and kitchen were #1! Golf cart was perfect-few bikes needed air in tires. Owner met us at checkin and was incredibly welcoming to my husband and I, my in laws, kids and bull mastiff dog, Theo. They had chairs for the beach we used everyday, nice beach towels and even boogie boards for the kids. We had a fire in the fire pit one evening. Our only confusion/challenge was we got to island on Monday and general store I guess is closed on Mon, Tuesdays so we couldnt get groceries til Wed. Fortunately we brought enough things in our cooler but that was hard as well and figuring out where to eat. Not a lot of options and many things close early or have off hours. Once we understood the island and Daufuskie time we were good but took a bit. I would totally recommend Joe Bie Maison, at Dan for transportation in his boats and Pat is wonderful as well with Daufuskie Life! Book it - you won’t regret it!

If you want a quiet Vacation, Daufuski is the place! Fun little island. The posted pictures of the home were great. Close to beach.PROS: * 2 kitchens were very helpful in planning meals and storage*peaceful isolation*Krissy with management was VERY helpful before and during stay!CONS: *nice beach at high tide but low tide left you with a long walk 300 yards walk thru muck to water*golf cart NOT included with rental. I would not rent the home without the cart included. Cart rental was 500 for 6 seater for 6 nights. The cart was old. *There is a club pool nearby but at 20 per day per person we didn't use.*You need to plan ALL your meals and bring ALL your food because there is not a grocery store on the island. This is extra work packing these items, loading on Ferry boat and transporting to Home but knowing this in advance, we were prepared mentally for this part of the trip.Knowing all this now, I would still return!

This was a beautiful property. It’s actually 2 houses side by side that are connected, yet can be closed off if needed. The beach is very close and was beautiful, clean and slopes gradually so kids can play easily in the surf.It is a bonus that this house comes with a golf cart. We were able to easily get around the island.There were a few items that we needed, but the manager was quick to take care of us.If you’re considering Daufuskie, consider staying here!
