Large Hillside Retreat with Pool and Hot Tub

We had a great stay at this hillside home. Pulling in, the driveway is a little rough but if you stick to the far left of the drive its not as bumpy. The house had plenty of room for 4 adults and the 3 teens/children we had with us. The kids took adantage of the pool, and we loved the hottub. The light to the downstairs porch flickers though, so we kept it dark. Oh, and if you see the black and white cat, don't be fooled by it's inital sweetness. It rubbed against me and wanted pets,but when I did it bit my hand.The best part is that its located pretty close to everything. We loved going to Rock City and Ruby Falls. Our favorite restaurant was 1885......

Posted pictures were a good representation of this property. We had plenty of room for our group. There were a couple issues with the hot tub and a leak under the main kitchen sink during our stay which were taken care of promptly by property mngmnt. I would recommend hair dryers be placed in the bathrooms. The gravel driveway up to the property had several deep pot holes which were rough to navigate. Would love to see more spices in the kitchen. Overall, we were happy with our stay and would stay there again.

The few problems we had were quickly addressed and corrected. While we were there, we saw the landscapers, the pool service people, and the trash collectors. It is clear the house is well maintained. Supplies such as trash bags, dish detergent, paper towels, toilet paper, and laundry detergent are readily available. Below are suggestions to make sure you have the best possible experience.1. Take state hghwy 193 to get to the house. It is a nicer drive, than coming through town. 2. Bring extra towels, especially for the pool. There are exactly enough provided. We spent a lot of time washing towels. 3. The kitchen is somewhat lacking. There are only 15 forks, so we needed to wash between meals. The pots and pans are not in great shape. All of the glasses are glass- so if you have kids, you may want to bring some plasticware for them. 4. Bring bug spray- The house is in the middle of the woods, which is so lovely, but there are bugs. :0)For groceries, there is a Publix and a Food City nearby. There are 2-3 coffee shops nearby, and the house is not far from some of the best sites of Chattanooga. It is a bit of drive because you are in the woods, but it's worth it.

We only stayed one night and the location was beautiful. The outside of the house was also just as described and the hot tub and pool were great! There was plenty of room for our group of 9, we each had our own bed and the bathrooms worked out well. A few things I would improve if I were the owner/ property manager include: Just a few things… I would recommend leaving extra tall kitchen trash bags. We couldn’t find any and I always feel that people are more likely to gather trash if trash bags are readily available. We happen to bring our own, so it did work out. Also, there were no instructions on use of the pool. I happen to own a pool so I knew that it needed to have the pump running as well as it needed a little additional water to keep it at an adequate water level. We were able to make a meal at the house, but the kitchenware was a little sparse despite having 3 kitchens. To be fair we did our cooking on the main level and only stayed one night. Had we stayed longer, we might have looked to see what was on the other levels. The inside jacuzzi had in was in need of deep cleaning. All in all it was a perfect size house for our party in an excellent location. The linens and towels were clean and we had plenty of room for our party of 9. A couple televisions downstairs didn’t work, had we been at the house for more than one night we may have investigated the cause a bit more, but it also worked out. The host was quick to respond with questions and communication was great!

This was a quick weekend vacation with family. Unfortunately, it was during a snowstorm, and we ended up getting snowed in. The internet was extremely spotty. And half the time would not even accept our password. The description says there is a pool table, ping pong table and foosball table. There is no foosball table and the pool table's rails are all broke, so your balls fly off the table so. Needless to stay, we were stuck with three children with no television and nothing really for them to do.The television remotes would turn the t v s off and on, but then the cursors would not move.So we couldn't watch anything on there either.

Overall was good experience. Temperature of pool made it only get minimal use - too cold for most. Hot tub got a lot of use. Refrigerator on each floor was a plus. Ovens on 2 floors were helpful for some meals. Foosball table is no longer there. Bean bags were a hit with the kids. They describe the drive in the listing and they aren't kidding. It is challenging so low vehicles would be a no go.Primary kitchen is not furnished as well as needed - no serving bowls, no large pots.

A car with a low clearance will not do well. Some critters, that’s expected, but finding mice poop on the kitchen counters every morning was NOT! Exterminator needed. Overall a nice place needing a few minor upgrades to be a great place.

The positive is that if you need a large house close to all attractions this house meets that requirement. We were disappointed that the hot tub was broken on our weekend trip. The area is a little run down but no one bothered usand you are on a hill out of the way.

This is the second year my family has spent Christmas in this house. The place is well kept and spacious enough for all my kids and grandkids. The house has a gameroom with pool and ping-pong as well as a hottub which ensured everyone had something entertaining to do. We hope to be able to spend next Christmas there as well.

Property mgmt was very quick in their response to help with an issue with the A/C not cooling properly. The only issue we had was the cleaning crew didn’t seem to do a great job. (laundry left in the dryer, wet towels hanging over the railing and dirty mop bucket left on back porch) I wasn’t able to find any cleaning supplies to wipe down counters or anything during our stay. Other than that this is a great house for large groups.

When you first pull up it's beautiful but once you go inside the home and they are supposed to have cleaners that come and clean and dust and take care of whatever else needs to be taken care of the floors feel like they're sinking in there's open gaps in the wood there was a visible screw on the floor that the maze did not pick up and I know if they clean the room they would have seen it they need to update the furniture because it's nasty with water stains and look like cigarette Burns also seen a couple of roaches as I picked up plates as me and a friend were sitting in a kitchen there was a fat rat that ran under the cabinet and I'm glad I had put the food in the refrigerator before I had went to bed because they would have had a field day eating on that food there were visible spider webs everywhere and spiders in the corner so that also lets you know that they're not cleaning like they're supposed to I had to kill several before my mother would even go to bed and there was a slight smell downstairs in the basement on the bottom floor and half of the remotes wouldn't even work with the TV you had to turn them on by hand I was so amped about wanting to rent this place again until I seen that rat run through the kitchen

While the listing makes everything look amazing when you enter the property you’ll first notice the light smell of mildew permeating through the air, smashed chips in the rugs, holes in the furniture and light fixtures hanging off the wall. If you take a shower you’ll enjoy the joy of black mold filling every crevice of the tile. Please be careful while walking through the house as most of the flooring is gapped and also not level. Take your time to go into the basement to smell even more..you guessed it..mold and mildew. Now that you’re imagining your less than enjoyable stay you wake up to no water in the house and message the host for them to not send maintenance out to fix the issue for 4 hours and an additional 4 hours for them to have it fixed. You heard that right, no drinking water, no bathing, no toilets. We had to use a bucket and use hot tub water to flush the toilets. When you ask for compensation the host will ask you to not leave them a negative review if the refund you but here’s the catch..they’re not willing to give you proper compensation. In fact it’s a laughable amount that you would much rather just leave a honest review to save the next victim to fall for this less than honest listing with owners who could careless for the people paying their mortgage. I hope you enjoyed this review as it is a tragic tale of my stay at this property.

Last people stayed leftover hair everywhere, did not clean. Calculate bath towel and condition were not good.

We had a great time. House was clean, only complaint was the yard was to small for us. But that's a personal opinion. We will definitely be back!!

The house was beautiful but when we arrived we found several things in end stand drawers, and underbeds.The back porch was also quite dirty when we arrived and there was a dirty dish in the sink. Other than all of that we had a very enjoyable stay!

At arrival we were met by a HVAC technician claiming to be checking the system to verify it’s working properly. Which wasn’t a big deal just more surprised. But after getting settled in the house was dirty, after watching the cleaning even leave. There mold on the ceilings and in the bathrooms. We also saw multiple roaches throughout the house! Very limited towels for bathing and not any for the pool or hot tub. Very disappointing for the amount we paid and miles we drove.

Over all we enjoyed our stay here. The house was perfect for our group. It had everything we needed and plenty of room.

I'm not even sure where to start on this. Honestly we will start with the worst issue and move back into a few smaller issues. First off this home has a MAJOR septic issue. The home smells disgusting. Some spots are worse than others. The worst spot inside being the upstairs shower. I work in healthcare so I have a strong stomach, but i literally almost vomited when I opened the shower door.The smell is unbelievablely bad outside near the exposed septic pipes, and yes you read that correctly. The owner was obviously more than aware of the problem prior to our stay, as evidenced by the septic pipes having already being dug up and exposed. The owner failed to let us know about this issue prior to our stay and played dumb about the situation for days. We had to contact vrbo every day of our stay and even after for a resolution, which was eventually provided as 20% off of our stay. The most frustrating part is that the owner refused to send out a plumber or anyone to look at this problem since it was the weekend. Completely unacceptable. If this was my personal home, I am confident I could have someone come out on a weekend. Would it cost more? Yes, but it is definitely possible. Next off the floors are very unlevel. The flooring is missing atleast one plank in the bathroom, and there are huge gaps where the flooring was put together poorly. My other issue is the listing itself. It is not accurate. Upon booking this is stated 6 bedrooms each with a queen bed. Upon arriving the listing had been changed and it now said a different configuration. The home has five bedrooms, and a small bunkbed in a common space. We were able to make this work but depending on your party this may not be possible. The home listing also states the price per guest and it is completely different from what vrbo charges and what the contract that is sent after you book says. Overall I will never stay in a home managed by unique stays, due to their poor communication and lack of response to a major issue.

Managed by Unique Stays in chatt and address provided was wrong- drove 1 hour in wrong direction. 1 remote control for all televisions in 3 story home. Wifi password not disclosed. Overcharged for amount of people staying despite having disclosed to VRBO upon booking. Had to contact host 4 times during this stay. Otherwise, house was clean, hot tub was warm. The management company was the problem.

Our experience couldn’t have been better. My large family gets together every year for Christmas and this has been by far the best space we have experienced for our needs. The hosts were responsive and went above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience. We had an issue with a broken bed and within hours they were there to fix the situation, not only setting up the new bed but replacing the linens as well. The maintenance guy was so friendly and in and out without any issues. We will be back next year to what we have lovingly dubbed the “Christmas House.”Thank you for making our family time together extra special.

We booked a great home with plenty of space, but it was situated in a rough area. Initially, we had planned a small party, but as our girlfriends' prior arrangements changed, the guest count increased to 12. We were transparent with the hosts about the additional guests, but we were charged a fee for each person beyond the original count.

Take state hghwy 193 to get to the house. It is a nicer drive, than coming through town. 2. Bring extra towels, especially for the pool. There are exactly enough provided. We spent a lot of time washing towels. 3. The kitchen is somewhat lacking. There are only 15 forks, so we needed to wash between meals. The pots and pans are not in great shape. All of the glasses are glass- so if you have kids, you may want to bring some plasticware for them. 4. Bring bug spray- The house is in the middle of the woods, which is so lovely, but there are bugs. :0)For groceries, there is a Publix and a Food City nearby. There are 2-3 coffee shops nearby, and the house is not far from some of the best sites of Chattanooga. It is a bit of drive because you are in the woods, but it's worth it.

This property is BEAUTIFUL! The house's location is tucked away but easy to get to main roadways. It had all amenities + a pool table. Big beautiful magnolia tree in the front, rocking chairs. Literally 3 floors each had bathrooms, 2 of them had microwaves and fridges lol. It was genius and a great stay. Great for a peacefull retreat. Will choose this location again if we are back.

The location is great! You are not far from all that Chattanooga and Lookout Mountain area have to offer. The house is spacious with ample ways to stay entertained or relaxed. There are some issues that need attention/repair such as flooring, doors sticking, humidity/water damage, etc and the main kitchen could use some more dishes and utensils. Overall, we had a great time and enjoyed the pool, hot tub, ping-pong, and pool tables. There was a maintenance issue that needed attention upon our arrival and communication was easy and help arrived within 20 minutes.

Property was awesome! Away from the city yet, only a short drive to downtown. Plenty of room and beds for our large family. We will be back!

The positive is that if you need a large house close to all attractions this house meets that requirement. We were disappointed that the hot tub was broken on our weekend trip. The area is a little run down but no one bothered usand you are on a hill out of the way.

We had a wonderful stay. The house is very spacious, clean, and comfortable—perfect for our large group with people of all ages. The location is also very convenient, making it easy to explore places like Cloudland Canyon, Chattanooga, and nearby hiking trails.
