Lovely cottage but felt kitchen equipment was complicated. Microwave in particular. Pretty garden but needs attention. amazing honesty shop in church. Beautiful walks from front door. Would recommend

Stayed 13 nights

Tried hard to enjoy our stay but cut it short by four days due to several factors but largely due to a very unpleasant neighbour who was aggressive and rude without provocation. The cottage was externally shabby with overgrown shrubbery at the front making access through the front door a problem. The cottage was ok, well equipped etc but overall dark and depressing. The en suite was very tiny and really a bit of a joke for anyone bigger than a Hobbit! The brighter modern second bedroom had no blind or curtains during our stay as the previous guests had damaged it..it was being repaired but no temporary window covering was offered and the bedroom was as such unusable. The master bedroom was old shabby and quite uncomfortable. We decided we would rather be anywhere else than this depressing cottage and unfriendly village where even the pub was insular and unwelcoming to “ strangers” ie tourists. We will not be returning to this location and cannot recommend it based on our visit. However, in fairness, I would like to say that the host, Maddy, was totally lovely and the cottage inside was spotless.
