Great place, right along the river and across from the park and the recreation center. We walked along the river trail at night and in the morning. There have been moose sightings along the river trail and people fly fish all along the river here. Great location!! Amazing communal kitchen and shared spaces. Great events in the evening in addition to board games, fire pit, jenga, a great bar… It was very quiet except the doors are very heavy and you can hear the heavy doors opening and closing which woke me up often. I grabbed some free ear plugs from the front desk which helped. The blinds let a lot of light through so if you are light sensitive, they do not have black out curtains. But overall, I HIGHLY recommend for value, quality, location, events and the hostel community!!

My stay at the Block Hotel & Commons in Silverthorne, CO was excellent. I was meeting some people for a local hike the next morning, and I wanted to break up the drive to the trailhead. The front desk staff was very hospitable and nice to talk with. She checked me into the hotel and answered my questions about some local activities/amenities. I talked with a couple of guys exploring the area, visiting from DC, and one guy had just moved to Golden. It was enjoyable to talk with them about the pros/cons of where to potentially live along the front range. I then took a short walk along the riverside greenway right outside of the hotel before checking out the hot tub on the 3rd floor level. I talked with a few people while at the hot tub who were in the area to take a few runs at A-Basin and Mary Jane ski resorts. The all-male dorm room was very comfortable and quiet. I highly recommend staying at the Block Hotel & Commons if you need a place to lodge near Silverthorne.

Great spot! Really close to everything and the staff are phenomenal. The private rooms were quiet, and showers were awesome after a day of snowboarding. Hot tub worked well. Only complaint is I wish there was more parking available closer to the spot. The extra parking is like a 10 minute walk which sucks if it's real cold out.

Loved the vibe of the place overall. The main hangout and bar area is great. The check-in process was smooth and the staff was great. I stayed in a dorm bed for my stay. My main criticisms of the place are: - There is very limited parking on site and their overflow parking is nearly a half mile away. - There are no curtains for the dorm beds. It's an easy addition to add a sense of privacy. - The hallway and bathroom lights were on full blast, even in the middle of the night. If you have to use the bathroom it's a struggle to fall back asleep. - The tray for holding your phone and stuff in the dorm bed is made out of thin metal. Setting down anything without care makes a loud clang (disturbing others sleep).

Really cool place to stay! There is a really nice backyard with games and picnic tables and a beautiful walking path along the river where people were fly fishing. You can walk over the bridge to the brewery and several food spots. I stayed in a dorm room - wish the bunk beds weren't connected and the door not as heavy because they made some noise, but it was very clean and well set up. There is a kitchen where you can keep your own stuff, and there was a cool bar area with music both nights I stayed. I would definitely come back.

New property. Very well maintained. Rooms are very small but lots of common area. Internet worked great. My only complaint is that there is limited parking on site and the overflow parking is quite a walk. They say it is only a couple blocks but I felt like it was a half mile away. Not fun in the dark on a very cold night. Because many visitors are coming as singles or couples and staying in the dorm rooms, the amount of cars far exceeds the available surface parking. If you get to park at the property, do not take your car anywhere or you will be parking offsite.

I liked that it was clean (for the most part), affordable, and the staff were very friendly and informative. The only thing I didn't like was that the space outside the shower stalls smelled like mildew/mold. Those rugs need ripped out and there should be a drainage system in the floor. Other than that, the bathrooms and my single bedroom were clean and tidy.

We loved our stay in room 104, the staff was superb, and surprisingly despite the events we never had issues with noise which was very nice. The only item I'm dinging the property with is ventilation. The 104 wing needs proper ventilation in several areas. 1. In the all gender showers black mold is growing as a result of insufficient exhaust. Steam is trapped in each shower cell and making cleaning impossible. 2. The individual bathrooms are sealed and do not have vents at the top. This is extremely nice for all gender privacy but it traps stink for hours. Either tripling central exhaust CFM and increasing the ceiling gap or adding building exhaust to each cell would eliminate the issue. 3. The entire hallway needs outside exhaust to remove smells from the rooms & hallway. There are plenty of smells in the hallway that buildup simply due to a complete lack of airflow, and the individual rooms also trap air (I think the internal system either doesn't bring in any fresh air, or it only recirculates in the room. Anyways it might sound like we had a bad stay, but I would recommend this place to anyone with some significant adjustments I addressed. I enjoy staying at the Block Hotel & Commons whenever I'm recreating in the Summit County or nearby. The dorms are very clean, comfortable, and affordable. The staff is very polite and courteous, and there are generally many events planned on their social calendar.

I was skeptical at first but on arrival I was definitely not disappointed.. the cleanliness was amazing because that was my most concern prior to booking. Also the room/property is very quiet and calm.. 10/10 recommend..

The staff was truly amazing - SO friendly and helpful. Everything was VERY clean - the cleaning staff is obsessed with excellence - it’s obvious. And - just watch them WORK. Beautiful conscientious hard workers. All the common areas are beautiful and inspiring. I will return and recommend. For sure.

Good location and new. Likes the community spaces and hot tub. It says the room was small and it was really small. We had private bathroom. The sink was so cute and tiny. No where in bathroom to set anything. And I didn’t like the advertisements hanging in our room. Bed was comfy enough. Price was reasonable. Bar drinks were good. Would possibly stay there again.

The Pad is a year or so old hostel and hotel in one. I like the innovative format. I stayed in both a windowless micro room with shared bath, and a compact room with bath on the next night (I’ll review that separately). The micro room was perfectly comfortable with a few rough edges. First off, claustrophobic people should not rent these rooms. I don’t have that issue, so it would have been fine except that the AC was not cooling (luckily it was ventilating), and the temperature crept up slightly to around 73-74. However, I slept like a rock because there were no light cues. The shared bathroom was clean and perfectly serviceable. The Pad has a good number of amenities to enjoy, including especially the bar and the 3d level hot tub. I booked a second night in a different room, so I voted with my feet as it were—I liked the property but didn’t love the “value proposition” (lol) of the micro room setup. It came to $100 in mid-June. I think a couple traveling together would see it differently. All in all, The Pad was a 4.5 star experience, rounded down for this review to 4.0 because of the AC issue.

Seems very European (German?). Scandinavian would be better.Trendy. No chair, tiny room, no window. HIVAC has a mind of its own - some trouble turning down overly enthusiastic A/C that blows on you all night from above. Dormatory coed style bath rooms with some lack of privacy. The younger crowd seem to like this? I appreciate the North American motel more. Staff are excellent.

Very clean. Staff was nice when we seen them. Lots of walkable locations and the river walk was beautiful. However. The bed and pillows were extremely uncomfortable. Had to buy billows to get some sleep the second night. Was unable to stay the third night due to the pain.

Stayed in a room in the Pad. Simple and basic for my solo trip. Room itself is quite ok. Heating setup was a bit complicated to fine tune. a bit too hot/too cold at times during the night. Overall it is very comfortable. Wifi is fast !!!

I was really impressed by the customer service and how genuinely friendly everyone was. I had to stay here after I'd moved out of my place in October and in spite of being in the midst of an ownership change everyone couldn't have possibly been more hospitable.

Booked this for a New Year’s Eve crash pad with my guy friend. I booked a mixed gender room and I think my friend did too. Upon arrival I was given a female only and he was given a male only. We had intended to stay in the same room or be able to visit each other as we both chose mixed gender rooms. well; a very upset lady reported us to the front desk after reminding us that the rooms were NOT co/ed. So, we weren’t informed except by this lady that was a guest. We were looking around and then walked by the front desks and she literally stopped me to let me know I was in a female only. So I showed her the reservation I had made for co/ed and she apologized for the inconvenience. We went somewhere else for the night and never used our rooms. My guy friend didn’t feel comfortable after the double confrontation. It’s a shame because the facility was really nice but not worse the miscommunication and no attempt to correct it. Waste of $200

I enjoy staying at the Block Hotel & Commons whenever I'm recreating in the Summit County or nearby. The dorms are very clean, comfortable, and affordable. The staff is very polite and courteous, and there are generally many events planned on their social calendar.

Great place, right along the river and across from the park and the recreation center. We walked along the river trail at night and in the morning. There have been moose sightings along the river trail and people fly fish all along the river here. Great location!! Amazing communal kitchen and shared spaces. Great events in the evening in addition to board games, fire pit, jenga, a great bar… It was very quiet except the doors are very heavy and you can hear the heavy doors opening and closing which woke me up often. I grabbed some free ear plugs from the front desk which helped. The blinds let a lot of light through so if you are light sensitive, they do not have black out curtains. But overall, I HIGHLY recommend for value, quality, location, events and the hostel community!!

The staff and service was on point, very friendly and helpful. Some minor issues with the door to the bathroom in our room but was handled. The bartender knew how to make a drink for sure. Awesome community areas inside and out. The patio with chairs and games was fun.

Loved the vibe of the place overall. The main hangout and bar area is great. The check-in process was smooth and the staff was great. I stayed in a dorm bed for my stay. My main criticisms of the place are: - There is very limited parking on site and their overflow parking is nearly a half mile away. - There are no curtains for the dorm beds. It's an easy addition to add a sense of privacy. - The hallway and bathroom lights were on full blast, even in the middle of the night. If you have to use the bathroom it's a struggle to fall back asleep. - The tray for holding your phone and stuff in the dorm bed is made out of thin metal. Setting down anything without care makes a loud clang (disturbing others sleep).

This place was fun. It does have a woke mindset, but as a not woke person, I didn’t mind. The facilities were nice and clean. There was fun live music one of the nights I was here. Parking was hard and kinda scarce, but I always found a place to park. I’d stay here again.

We had such a great experience at the Pad. We absolutely loved it. The staff was amazing. Dwayne at the bar was awesome. We loved all the different spaces to hang out and the yoga was a bonus. Loved it all. And we are back next month.

Besides the inconvenience I had in the checking, the staff was quick to make sure everything was fine and fixed, they even gave me a free drink at the bar. The hotel is very nice, good rooms, shared kitchen very well equipped, there is a gear room for your snowboard/skii, I think the best thing is the location near by the best mountains of the region (vail, keystone, Breckenridge, breaver creek...), fair price, the hot tube is really nice and the staff is very helpful.
