Renovated Steps to the Beach Cottage in Ewa Beach Serene Home C

We arrived in Ewa Beach after a 7-hour flight with kids, exhausted and expecting to settle into our rental, but it was a disaster from the start.The house was not very clean, the Wi-Fi didn’t work, and after one person showered, we discovered the ONLY shower wouldn’t drain. That meant the rest of us, including our kids, couldn’t shower after a full travel day. Property management told us no one could come out until the afternoon the next day, which was completely unacceptable for something that made the home essentially unusable.While figuring out what to do, we found serious safety issues. There were broken faceplates exposing high-voltage electrical outlets, including one that was easily accessible to children. Another bedroom had a loose outlet plate as well. Traveling with young kids, this was honestly terrifying.To make matters worse, there were no dressers or real storage, despite this being the type of rental where longer stays are expected.We didn’t stay a single night. We packed everything back up, paid for a hotel, and had to scramble to find a safe, acceptable place for our family instead. What should have been the exciting start to our move to Hawaii turned into an incredibly stressful experience. I would absolutely not recommend this property, especially for families with children.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Stayed for 90 days for work, it was a great place to come home to. Room to park two cars. Very short walk to the beach. House had everything needed for a long stay. Management company was very professional and quick to respond to issues, replaced propane for shared grill the same day that calls were placed. The only complaint was there are two other rental homes on the same lot and for a couple weeks there were other renters that made a mess of the public/shared areas including the grill. Called management company and they took care of the issue. Thanks again for a great stay.

This is the second time I have stayed on Ewa beach. I personally do not like the Honolulu atmosphere/experience. Ewa beach feels relaxed - much like my childhood experience in a New Orleans suburb. We walked a lot on the beach and the street and had many pleasant conversations with locals. The beach is never crowded. Sunrise over Diamond Head is spectacular. The accommodations are exceptionally clean. We had no problems at all. This is not 5 star luxury, but if you are looking for a quiet, homey place, this is the one! For me and my family this is 5 star living space.

Pros - unit was clean, fairly updated, beds were comfortable, kitchen well stocked, direct beach access, beach chairs and other water stuff, decent parking. Cons - Neighborhood is questionable and somewhat noisy neighbors, not a walkable neighborhood, the AC does run hotter in the master bedroom, back bedroom smelled of mold, the beds are too low, no dressers in the bedrooms, no stove ventilation so you will need to open the windows while cooking on higher heat settings. Overall we had a great stay.

We stay one month and we had a great time.
