Charming Cottage Rental Near Woodstock Heated Pool, Fire Pit, Screened Porch

Beautiful property. The guest house is tucked back behind the main house with good privacy and separate entrance to the pool. The guest house has everything you need. The huge screened in porch was the highlight for me!

My major disappointment was that I booked this cottage as it had a heated pool. It turned out that every time you wanted to use the ‘heated pool’ you needed to notify the owner to ‘ask her to turn on the heat.’ We all know it takes hours to heat a pool. When I texted to tell her I wanted to use it she texted, back, ‘the pool is 80 degrees.’ I returned to the property several hrs later and the water was very cold. I did not go in. If you say the pool is heated it should be heated dawn to dusk for our stay. No hot tub or washer as advertised.The photos looked great and made the cabin appear larger than it was. The bedroom did not have adequate shelves or a functional closet. The closet was approximately 1’deep x 3’wide. There was a bookcase with 3 empty shelves in the bedroom where I had to put SOME of my clothing. The rest had to be left in my suitcase. Our toiletries had to be stored on one of the bookcase shelves in the bedroom. There was no bathroom medicine chest & only one shelf approximately 3”x 10”. The kitchen and living rm were a nice open area and adequate size. Again, storage was an issue. ie; the broom had to be disassembled to fit into the cabinet. There were large black ants throughout the cottage but, OK…I’m in the woods. Otherwise everything was very clean. Towels were new & plush. There was an area to park your car which was about 500’ from the cottage. The owner provided a cart for us to bring our luggage up to the house.

Just so wonderful experience. The caretakers of the property were incredibly attentive and helpful and made you feel like you were safe and protected. I thought of everything for comfort and convenience and quiet for an incredible getaway. This was truly a treasure and I’m so grateful that I found it because it was one of the best experiences I’ve had. Always great to visit Woodstock again since I haven’t been there since I was a kid. I’m staying in the magical cabin in the Woods made it spectacular!

Our family of 3 had a fantastic time staying at Laurie’s cabin. It was clean, spacious, and the setting is gorgeous. Hanging around the fire pit was a definite highlight for us. The cottage is thoughtfully decorated (lots of hooks!) and had everything we needed for our stay. Laurie was a wonderful host, she went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, had great recs for hikes and dining and even made sure we knew about a local fireworks show! We would definitely recommend this magical space!
