Knockranny staff are always personable and the property is simply gorgeous. We stayed for five days and thoroughly enjoyed our time whether in one of its restaurants, the pool, the various luxurious lounges, or relaxing in our room. We look forward to returning and exploring more of the surrounding area.

Large and impressive hotel in Westport located about 20 minutes walk from the centre of town. Very friendly and efficient staff throughout the hotel. Our classic double room was spacious, spotless and well appointed with a great bathroom. We had dinner in the bar and breakfast in the restaurant- both experiences were very good with excellent food and service and great views. Plenty of free parking within the landscaped grounds. Would definitely stay again - unfortunately we only had one night and would have liked to stay longer.

Not family-friendly Kids are only allowed to use the pool from 9-12 on weekends, not during the week. I also wouldn’t call it a spa, the pool is freezing, no toiletries for use after the pool. The sauna and steam room were the worst iv ever been in. Swimming hats are €4 per person. I would have brought my own if this was mentioned in the description. There’s no arcade/ games room in which it’s stated there is. There is a pool table which is over 18s only. They also say they have archery and bike rentals which they don’t either. It’s a bit of a walk to the town also uphill so be aware of that if not so great at walking. Taxis are difficult to get at night. Might be an okay hotel for a couple but it is not family-friendly. I feel the hotel needs to change the description as it’s not completely accurate.

Great view of Croagh Patrick. Lovely helpful staff and food was excellent .The pool was very. cold but after climbing Croagh Patrick it was great to relax in the Spa and pool. Only a 10 minute walk into Westport.

Elegant spacious property with excellent views of Clew Bay. Room spacious and warm and clean. Luxury bathroom with sperarate shower and jacuzzi bath and twin sinks. Nice ambience. Lovely restaurant but menu limited so we went to the bar. Service in the bar was poor. Had to wait for menus and order to be taken. Place settings not brought until after food served and jug of water never arrived. We were not asked if food was satisfactory (it was) and no one asked us did we want to see a dessert menu, table was cleared and no one came back. Facilities were excellent overall but bar service disappointing.

We had a lovely 2 night stay. The service was fabulous. In particular Peter in the restaurant was so welcoming and full of advice on where to visit. Unfortunately we were disappointed that the spa area had only one steam room working. The other two were out of order, the rainfall shower was out of order and the sauna was in complete darkness. We booked the hotel to use the spa facilities so this was a big let down. We felt that we should have been informed of this beforehand. Other than that everything else was wonderful.

Nous y avons dîné et testé le Tomawak: fabuleux! Il y a également un bar, un salon de repos, le tout avec une vue spendide sur le Croagh Patrick et la Clew Bay.

From the moment I arrived until I left this hotel exceeded expectations. Lovely clean spacious rooms. A stunning spa. The restaurant has the most amazing view across Clew Bay, breakfast and dinner superb for taste and presentation. The girls on reception an absolute diamond and a credit to the hotel. It’s a comfortable hotel with very friendly staff and good leisure amenities. It’s very well maintained and clean. Our room was a bit dark and gloomy because it was lower ground level and facing a small enclosed courtyard.

It seemed a bit less than the photos of the rooms. We were in a room that wasn't glamorous, just sufficient. The carpet was soiled, the bathroom was large but stale. I guess it didnt meet my standards of the hotels we frequent in the US. Chris the luggage help was amazing, and greeted us so kindly! The guys in the bar were really sweet!

The rooms were spotless. The staff were amazing they went above and beyond. It was the most relaxing stay. The little beautiful touches were outstanding. This was our little girls first holiday and the staff were so friendly and helpful with them.

Hotel is very comfortable and the room was spacious but everything feels a bit dated and in need of a makeover. At this sort of price most modern hotels would have, for instance, a coffee maker in the room and a reasonable selection of channels on the TV. The hotel restaurant was good, but not as good as the description would have you believe. Breakfast was very average.

very good hotel overall but rooms badly need updating with new modern furniture and the bathrooms are long past their best. Would rate this hotel more of a good 3 star than a 4 star. Other 4 star hotels we have stayed in recently in the west of Ireland were a lot better.

Dinner and breakfast menu options were extensive and the food well prepared and presented . Dining room lovely (especially if sitting in the bay window area). Room was quiet, very spacious and the bed very comfortable. Just a short walk into town, which had lots of dining options to suit all budgets. Highly recommended,

The room was enormous and beautifully appointed. Restaurant was very good. Spa facilities excellent and the position was such that a 20 minute walk had you in the middle of town.

The satff were absolutely lovejy but the quality of ky room was so poor . The bathroom was really dated ahd there was no minibar abd it was small and dark and i was so shocked thry would charge 300 € for a solo traveller for 1 night !. I booked 2 rooms,he ither room was for 2 friends ( 2 single ladies ) and theur roomwas enormous with 2 huge double beds. You coukd not get any room service afer 1 am which was really disappointing, i have no problem woth this if there's a minibbar but thry didn't have that either. Overall very disappointing

Nice hotel, great rooms & very comfortable beds. Large TV didn’t work with Apps despite displaying a QR Code, reception said because of GDPR 😫 Dinning Room has lovely views & food was excellent, service was very slow, some very young staff who need more training. Overall enjoyed our stay

A lovely hotel in a great location, overlooking the local town and valley. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, though the coffee cups supplied could be a little larger. Decor throughout is obviously of the highest quality, but is quite dated. Most of the furniture is functional but very old. Large and impressive hotel in Westport located about 20 minutes walk from the centre of town. Very friendly and efficient staff throughout the hotel. Our classic double room was spacious, spotless and well appointed with a great bathroom. We had dinner in the bar and breakfast in the restaurant- both experiences were very good with excellent food and service and great views. Plenty of free parking within the landscaped grounds. Would definitely stay again - unfortunately we only had one night and would have liked to stay longer.

Hotel was just outside Westport but walkable.. reception staff were not as friendly as we found the rest of Ireland and gave no information at checkin about the hotel.. The rooms were huge and bathrooms enormous and were cleaned and re stocked everyday. Breakfast was ok.. little on buffet to choose.Menu for Cooked food was good but arrived so promt it was impossible to have any first eg fruit yogurt porridge.. having said all that views at breakfast were just amazing it was a good hotel. ( seemed to cater very much to Americans) .. we enjoyed our stay very much.

Lovely hotel, our room was just perfect and so spacious. The hotel staff were very professional, friendly and welcoming. The most comfortable bed ever and lovely bathroom. Breakfasts were superb as was dinner in the restaurant. I would highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel was lovely with great facilities. We enjoyed our stay but are not sure if we would return to this particular hotel. Found the staff to be very professional but we were left a little underwhelmed by the level of service we received. Worth it if you can get a great deal but we saw some other great options in the area too!

Elegant spacious property with excellent views of Clew Bay. Room spacious and warm and clean. Luxury bathroom with sperarate shower and jacuzzi bath and twin sinks. Nice ambience. Lovely restaurant but menu limited so we went to the bar. Service in the bar was poor. Had to wait for menus and order to be taken. Place settings not brought until after food served and jug of water never arrived. We were not asked if food was satisfactory (it was) and no one asked us did we want to see a dessert menu, table was cleared and no one came back. Facilities were excellent overall but bar service disappointing.

Nice hotel, great rooms & very comfortable beds. Large TV didn’t work with Apps despite displaying a QR Code, reception said because of GDPR 😫 Dinning Room has lovely views & food was excellent, service was very slow, some very young staff who need more training. Overall enjoyed our stay

Stayed in an inner courtyard room to start which was a little dissappointing against what was expected. Staff great though and Food at breakfast and Dinner was excellent. Views feom the restaurant of rhe Mountain were amazing. Moved to Presidential Suite for a couple of extra nights. No real wow factor there so not really worth the cash. Could cut back the vegetation atvthe windows which spoiled the view of rhe Mountain. Slightly out of Town for walking but just doable.

Not family-friendly Kids are only allowed to use the pool from 9-12 on weekends, not during the week. I also wouldn’t call it a spa, the pool is freezing, no toiletries for use after the pool. The sauna and steam room were the worst iv ever been in. Swimming hats are €4 per person. I would have brought my own if this was mentioned in the description. There’s no arcade/ games room in which it’s stated there is. There is a pool table which is over 18s only. They also say they have archery and bike rentals which they don’t either. It’s a bit of a walk to the town also uphill so be aware of that if not so great at walking. Taxis are difficult to get at night. Might be an okay hotel for a couple but it is not family-friendly. I feel the hotel needs to change the description as it’s not completely accurate.

Great view of Croagh Patrick. Lovely helpful staff and food was excellent .The pool was very. cold but after climbing Croagh Patrick it was great to relax in the Spa and pool. Only a 10 minute walk into Westport.

A very nice hotel, WONDERFUL, helpful staff, and some truly superb food. It's a good walk from downtown, so makes getting back and forth a bit tricky if there's any rain, but also makes for a quiet, peaceful location with a lovely view of the surrounding mountains.

From the moment I arrived until I left this hotel exceeded expectations. Lovely clean spacious rooms. A stunning spa. The restaurant has the most amazing view across Clew Bay, breakfast and dinner superb for taste and presentation. The girls on reception an absolute diamond and a credit to the hotel. Cook breakfast was dry . Lovely staff . Some of the tables n chairs could do with a wipe down in breakfast room . Bedroom was lovely and comfortable and very clean . Lighting in bathroom could have been . Better , but that’s personal choice .

Dinner and breakfast menu options were extensive and the food well prepared and presented . Dining room lovely (especially if sitting in the bay window area). Room was quiet, very spacious and the bed very comfortable. Just a short walk into town, which had lots of dining options to suit all budgets. Highly recommended,

Good stay for 2 nights. Small double bed and room small for rate we paid. Bit disappointed in room size bearing in mind what we paid. Hot tap very noisy at sink. Cooked Irish breakfast dry and bit overcooked but breakfast on second morning was fabulous. We had poached eggs and salmon from menu. Reception and housekeeping team friendly and good/efficent. Leisure staff very professional and friendly. Lovely gardens and grounds. Good location. Beautiful hotel.

I ate in the bar choosing fish and chips from a very limited menu . I have never before been served chips so hard they were inedible . When I complained I was swiftly (too swiftly) brought a second helping of chips which were not much better, Still too many small chips fried to a crispness impossible to bite into. The fish (haddock) was okay but again the batter fried far too crisp. The staff were pleasant and helpful and did not charge for my drink but how a hotel kitchen can get such a simple meal so wrong I cannot fathom. My room was spacious but warm only for the short time the radiator actually worked. Also it was overlooked and I had to close the curtains the minute I arrived while still light as there was a woman staring in from the corridor opposite. While an imposing building it is labyrinthine inside and not particularly welcoming. I decided not to have breakfast as the bar meal was so disappointing and I had not been told at reception I needed to book a table for breakfast as I subsequently read in my room. As it is most unusual to have to book for breakfast (or indeed for the bar as I had been told) I should have been told that also when checking in.
