Altieri Loft Pantheon

This apartment was perfect for our Rome vacation. It was centrally located to all of the tourist attractions so it was easy to walk everywhere. But when we were tired there is a bus stop right out front. The building has a large door to the street that locks at night that feels very safe. The apartment was wonderful. Had everything we needed and wanted. Just for those who need to know, the stairs that lead to the beds are very steep. The sofa is a sleeper bed also so there is an option for a bed downstairs. Would definitely stay here again.

Three of us (24 yo) stayed here and loved it. It was a charming place to stay with a great location. They had great communication up until our stay and also allowed us to check in early. They arranged a car service for us from the airport. DO NOT BOOK IF YOU CAN NOT HANDLE WALKING STAIRS. I loved staying here, but if you have mobility issues, this is not the place for you. There is an elevator but you still need to walk stairs and down hallways. The beds are also on the loft area, which added so much character to our stay, but could be challenging for others. The location was amazing and I would definitely stay here again. The beds were comfortable, and we felt comfortable traveling as young women. I loved staying here and loved Rome!

Check in was easy. Stefano met us, walked us through the apartment, collected our fees and passport information, and said to call him if we need anything or have a question. The beds are in a loft, which worked for us. If you’re a family or travel with another couple, there’s not much privacy. Remember, this is an old building (Altieri Palace, built in the mid 1600’s) so you work with what you have. There is an elevator to get you up to the 3rd floor. Some apartments on old European buildings don’t have one. There is a fun Irish pub down below, with good Irish food and beers on tap. It was great for those long days and not wanting to go far. The location of the apartment is fantastic, so we walked everywhere; Colosseum, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Vatican (30 minute walk), Spanish Steps, etc. Enjoy Rome and all her beauty!

Great place in the center of all the area. Easy walk to most places if you’d like to walk. Having laundry washer was terrific.

Overall, it was a fantastic stay! The unit was very cozy and conveniently located near everything. The only issue was that the VRBO was about a 6-7 minute walk to the unit; however, that didn't ruin our experience.

Couldn’t be in a better location, central to just about everything, loads of good restaurants. Very secure apartment in really historic building. Really clean and everything easy. Even found a free parking space right outside for whole weekend. We’ll be back.

If you want to stay somewhere that feels like history with the comfort of modern life, stat here. Great location near Gesu, Piazza Venezia, and multiple transit stops. The building has character and interest. Just be aware it is a long walk through corridors to get to the apartment, but for us it felt like a great adventure!

very cool property located in an old impressive building. we appreciated the extra space for a couple and 2 adult children. beds were comfortable, all shades closed for darkness. walking distance to all attractions. Scholar's Inn Irish pub downstairs didn't bother us with noise. Building was extremely safe. door person and locked gates. only negative for some people would be the VERY long walk after the elevator to the apartment! notes for the owners: replace the light bulbs with some brighter bulbs. some were out and not a lot of light in the Apt. overall. especially in bathroom. also cooking fan does not work.

Communication and check-in with Fabio was quick and easy. There was a booklet on basic information about the apartment as well as nearby amenities. The apartment was clean, cosy and very comfortable for a family of 5. The loft was a cute and functional touch, but the stairs are quite steep. The kitchen was stocked with basic condiments as well as coffee and sugar (we only made coffee and used the microwave and oven for heating up leftovers, we did not cook). It was beautiful weather in April so we did not use the heater or aircon. There was clothes detergent provided and the washing machine worked well. A good size clothes rack was available.Being on the top floor close to a busy road, you could hear sirens and noises at night, but the windows help to keep some of it out. The apartment is on the top floor and the view of the rooftops and street below gave a nice Italian vibe. There is an elevator available if you don't wish to climb the three floors to the apartment, but there are still a few steps which cannot be avoided. The building itself is old and rustic with a historic Roman style. The location is excellent - walking distance to most attractions, even the Vatican City. Just on the next block, there is a small supermarket and a bakery that opens at 6am (except Sundays) serving coffee and freshly baked croissants and pastries if you need them that early, which we did. Overall, a wonderful stay which I would definitely recommend!

L’appartamento è super centrale, veramente baricentrico nel centro di Roma. Si trova all’ultimo piano di un palazzo storico. E presente l’ascensore ma bisogna fare una piccola rampa di scale per accedervi. Super accessoriato e luminoso, l’appartamento è veramente come nelle foto. Supermercato sotto casa e ottime colazioni al Caffè Plebiscito proprio a due passi. La società che lo gestisce è super efficiente. Da ritornarci.

The property had a wonderful welcomer, and a good location. I think the note I would want for families is the squeak of the wood was so remarkably loud that you couldn't wake before the kids or stay up a moment later. Also, as is the case in many european facilities, the smell in the washroom due to the septic was memorable. Location was nice and the apartment had much storage!

Absolutely loved this apartment! Communication with the host was timely and excellent. Apartment was clean and in a fantastic location to ammenities and land marks. Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay again!

This location is close to everything. You can easily walk to all the sites. Because you are so central, it's also really noisy. Lots of sirens! You will have some stairs before you can access the elevator and steep stairs in the unit. I wouldn't recommend it for the elderly or anyone with toddlers. The bathroom smell is real, as indicated in other reviews. It doesn't go away, so best to keep the door closed or be prepared. The beds were comfy and it was clean! From the entrance of the building you weave your way past interesting corners of the attic before reaching the suite. All is clean and normal once you're inside. Nice to have the windows open but it's loud outside. You will definitely need the AC here on hot days.

Wir hatten selten eine so nette Begrüßung und Einführung. Der einzige Makel ist die Klimaanlage. Die war kaputt. Die Agentur hat sich toll gekümmert und es gab ein Ersatzgerät und Reparatur. Da es schon einige Rezensionen zur kaputten Klimaanalge gab, sollte der Eigentümer sie endlich mal ersetzen. Das Loft ist direkt unter dem Dach und ohne Klimaanlage ist das nicht erträglich.

The location of the apartment is stellar and it is very clean. The beds are a little firm for my liking, the stars are a bit steep and getting the apartment to cool down with the aged AC units was difficult. Overall decent stay.

The apartment was located in an interesting old building. The location was perfect for walking to all the main sites! While it was small, there was room for all 4 of us to sleep. Two problems:1) the air conditioning did not work well in the bedroom lofts and sleeping up there was uncomfortable. 2)The bathroom seemed to have some issues and smelled all the time. I still recommend it if those issues can be fixed.

The property is beautiful, the location is great, and most of the amenities were excellent. However, in the middle of June, you cannot stay in a 3rd floor loft without air conditioning. Had trouble sleeping at night. We discovered the issue on our first night (of 4 total). The hosts provided window fans, which made it a bit better, but they did not get the AC fixed during our stay.

Our family of 4 greatly enjoyed our stay. The apartment is within walking distance of many sites in Rome. The hosts were very kind and helpful. The AC worked but was a bit loud in the upstairs area, and was not consistent there. However, there were fans to compensate. Also must be careful on the stairs as they were small. We would definitely stay there again.

I hate to sound negative but we didn\'t enjoy our experience with this apartment. Like much of Rome, this building is old. It is interesting and some my like it, however, it takes, literally 5 minutes to get from the gate of the building to the door of the apartment. Its tough when carrying luggage. Upon entering, we were hit with a wave of heat. I understand May in Rome gets hot but the shutters on the window were left open and the apartment was very uncomfortable. Inside, the apartment is one open room with the stairs and loft for the upstairs "bedrooms". There is no partition between the rooms. There are three AC units for the entire apartment and unfortunately for us, two of them were on their last legs. After a couple of hours in the room the heat became unbearable and we had to get a hotel room instead. We came back the following day to leave the keys back and the two AC had died and wouldn\'t turn back on. The place was just as hot and the single remaining AC unit was making no difference. This might not be everyones experience but sadly, it was ours.

The loft was roomy and centrally located where we were walking distance to the main site seeing locations e.g. Vatican, Pantheon, etc... As a group of three this was a good fit. The host who checked us in was great and provided useful information. The location just can't be beat for getting to all the sites in the heart of Rome. We found it useful to wear ear plugs at night to cancel our the street sounds including the sirens from the nearby police station.

The apartment was in an excellent location. It was a nice place to come back to at the end of a day of walking. My only caution is for people who have any mobility issues. The two beds are in a loft up several very skinny steps. Otherwise, it's a wonderful place to stay.

Great communication. Valerio was so nice in helping us with our luggage and explaining everything about the property. Such a good location. Everything super walkable. Would definitely get a bus or Uber from main station as that is probably the longest walk we did.

Highly recommend this unit. It is in a fantastic location in a great complex. You truly get a sense of Italian living. It accommodated the 5 of us(3 teenagers) with no problem. The communication with Daniele was excellent. Always quick to answer our texts. Even went above and beyond helping solve a minor issue we encountered.

Told the property I am traveling with wheelchair bound family member and never addressed to me the Sue. The Airconditioner wasn’t working, told the check in person about the air conditioner and nothing was done. We had to endure Rome heat in June.

Palazzo Altieri is a beautiful property in a great location. Our family of five stayed was comfortable in our apartment with plenty of room and all the things we needed for our week long stay. It’s within walking distance of plenty of restaurants, gelato spots, and quick walking distance to public transit. We’ll definitely consider staying here again on our next visit.
