LivingTown Lofts Zurich

It was an unconventional set up but we still had an enjoyable stay. Unfortunately the bed wall wasn’t working but it was repaired once reported. We didn’t realise that amenities like tea/coffee/microwave were only available in a shared lounge area which wasn’t close to our room but that was our oversight.

Great property, clean and modern room. Bathroom was great with a lovely big shower. Bed was large and comfortable. Wi-fi and Smart TV worked fine. The building also has a large communal area and an outside terrace to enjoy. Access to building and the room is using your smartphone/livingtown app. I found it simple to use. But please be mindful if you are booking and are not tech savvy/have an older style phone. The only downside was the air conditioning in the room was not working. I did report this after the first night, and a fan was provided for the remainder of my stay. Aside from the air con, really enjoyed my stay.

While not the most comfortable bed we've slept in, the apartment the apartment itself was beautiful and clean, with the softest towels we've ever experienced while traveling. I myself am not the largest fan of digital keys to get into buildings/rooms, but the system worked well, and I have no complaints with it. The laundry facilities were plentiful and easy to use, which ended up being much needed. The building itself was easy to locate, but it is quite large inside so be sure to follow the maps around the place to easily locate your room. Communication with the company was very easy and pleasant, with very quick turnaround times. About a 15-minute walk from the Altstetten train station. Fair price for what you get. We would be happy to stay here again.

Overall, nothing terribly wrong with this property/stay. Not knowing the area upon booking, this location isn't very close to the downtown area or main central station. Definitely not the end of the world, but would've booked somewhere closer should I have known. The apartment was overall very clean. It had everything we needed during our stay. Definitely more of a vacation rental feel vs. a hotel. Another thing I didn't realize what that this seems to be an apartment building for young adults. Felt similar to a dorm, with the exception being we had our own bathroom and kitchen in the unit. Community spaces were shared. We had to walk through what appeared to be the common area to get to our room. The majority of times we walked through, there were dishes/food/drinks/etc. left out and seemed quite dirty. The access to the building and unit was done entirely via your phone. I personally found this very convenient and helpful. Took a minute or two to figure it out, but was very useful after that. Overall, I'd say if you're looking for more of a vacation rental/apartment style place to stay, this is a pretty good option. Just take into account the location.

Very good hotel with big room and special design.they have reception but not work on holidays.

The hotel is clean and spacious, but be aware that they have minimal staff and all the doors and lifts are operated on your phone. My phone wouldn't work the app. Luckily my wife's phone ran the app OK. Another thing to consider is the hotel is 2.5miles from city centre. We used a taxi when we arrived and it cost 50chf. A cheaper option is to get the no4 tram from Zurich HB to Alstetten rail station, or use train. We bought all day passes for 14chf each and they let you use trams buses local trains and even boats on the lake.

The apartment once in it was lovely but bit of a strange set up You go through like a full block of apartments, mine was right at other end and no one there to check in or check out. Made it quick but also was concerning as had to use your phone to get in lifts etc and I ended up in a basement once as I took the wrong lift. Would say good for two people together but a little bit scary on my own! Other than that the apartment was lovely, perfect location for the stadium and very reasonably priced!!

The rooms are modern, spacious and have everything you need for modern serviced apartment. There is an Aldi, fast food shop and department store within 5mins walk. There are bus stops in 2mins walk or walk 11mina to Altstetten train station. Easy to check in and out as long as you have a phone and they stores luggage so I could explore and put them in my room when it was ready.

Property was clean. Good for solo travel. It’s not in the city center but buses are easily accessible 2/3 mins walk (15 minutes away from main train station) 20 mins tram ride from old town.

Nous avons beaucoup aimé notre séjour. La localisation, la propreté et l'aspect très recent du logement était vraiment super. Par contre, nous avons été très etonné de ne trouver sur le lit qu'une couette simple alors que nous avions un lit double. Heureusement qu'il ne faisait pas froid.

O flat é excelente e proporciona todo o conforto para quem quiser descansar após um longo dia de passeios, cozinhar se preferir preparar uma refeição e ter uma boa noite de sono. O flat é bem equipado, até com máquina de lavar roupas, mas faltou o sabão. :) O banheiro bem limpo, amplo, com toalhas de ótima qualidade. Não houve limpeza durante os 05 dias que estivemos lá. Achei estranho que o lixeiro da cozinha estava quase cheio quando chegamos...nao sei se foi falha ou qual seria o motivo. Como sugestão de melhora entendemos que deveria ser aprimorada a comunicação pré check in. Deve haver clareza quanto aos procedimentos a serem realizados na chegada para entrar no local. A gente chegou no predio e nao havia ninguém para nos receber. No pre check in não informava nada, apenas a solicitação dos dados. Nos sentimos perdidos e a salvação foi um "Anjo" chamada Rene que nos ajudou a finalizar o check in via aplicativo para podermos entrar no flat. Percebemos que o mesmo problema ocorreu com novos hospedes no dia em que partimos, então é recorrente que as pessoas chegam sem a informação completa de como deverão fazer para poder entrar no quarto reservado. A utilização do aplicativo é sensacional, depois que Você aprende! A região é bem servida de transporte publico, com paradas de ônibus em frente e ao lado do prédio e na rua de trás, além de uma estação de metro um pouco mais distante, mas caminhável. Região bem servida de comercio, supermercados e restaurantes. Amamos!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The room was clean, the bathroom was large, we had a balcony with a table, and the living area was spacious. We also liked the kitchenette because we could save money by buying food at the grocery store and preparing it in the room. However, we did not like the lack of communication with the staff. There were two of us, but the room only came with one towel and we couldn’t find any staff to talk to get another towel. We had to go buy one. Also, the room doesn’t have air conditioning or a fan so it got pretty stifling so I had to go buy a fan. The property should provide fans in all the rooms.

Te IT interface was not user friendly and took until I realized I had not paid until it all fell into place, but I had to find that.

The room was great, but if you plan to check in during unstaffed hours, think twice. We booked via Expedia and paid months in advance. We arrived on a weekend, and the check-in instructions were quite clear but took us almost 10 attempts and multiple devices to get through (Every time we finish the last step, the website redirects us back to the first page). After we completed the check-in process, we were granted access to all common areas (lift, kitchen, etc.), but the hotel system indicated that we hadn’t paid and therefore didn’t have access to our room. Initially, we thought the system might need more time to load and refresh after we filled in our details, so we sent the hotel a WhatsApp message to seek assistance (we received no response). We couldn’t call, as we were traveling from overseas and our eSIM doesn’t support calling functions. After a few hours, the system still showed that we needed to pay for the accommodation. At this point, it had been several hours since our arrival. We contacted Expedia for assistance, but they couldn’t reach the hotel either. We finally realized there was an issue with the hotel’s system and that there was absolutely no other way to access our room unless we paid again. Reluctantly, we paid. We received the room number and e-key instantly. After we checked out, Expedia contacted the hotel, and they confirmed they had received an extra payment. I have not received the extra payment refund yet after almost 3 weeks.

Stay was really wonderful. The host explained us all the technology embedded inside our room and he was really friendly while answering all our questions.

Loved the loft, the entire stay was very interesting, got to cook ourselves a home meal after a 25 days long trip across Central Europe, we loved the accessibility of the stay. Trams and busses are well connected and also will find grocery store coop nearby !
