The Astir Thira Hotel was just on the outskirts of town. This was nice because it made for easier access in and out of town. It was a very short 3-5 minute walk. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We arrived before check-in and our room was ready for us which made it very convenient for us. The room was pleasantly clean and we had a nice view of the ocean off of our balcony. The only downside was that the main street separated the hotel from the balcony which made the room a little noisy during the day and early night. Later on at night it was relatively quiet. The room was somewhat small but this seems to be a theme when traveling in Greece. There was only a small hanging area for clothing and nowhere to put your luggage or other clothing. The bathroom area had no shelving for your toiletries and only two hooks for your towels. They would do themselves a favor if they installed more shelving in the bathroom and bedroom and hooks on the backside of the bathroom door. They also need a do not disturb sign for the rooms. The pool and surrounding area was very well maintained. Breakfast was included and was good. Staff was very friendly and always had a warm greeting. For the ladies who like to pack a hairdryer, there is no need to pack one if you stay here. My wife said the hairdryer they have is the absolute best she has ever used and is nothing short of amazing. We would easily stay here again.

Et lille og hyggeligt hotel. Et roligt og indbydende poolområde. Lige uden for byens larm men i gåafstand til byen og supermarked. Ikke noget stort og fancy, men et dejligt familiedrevet hotel fyldt af søde og imødekommende mennesker. Her skal vi bo når/hvis vi kommer tilbage til Santorini

Nice location walking distance to town, but also on a main, busy and sometimes noisy road. Very responsive staff. Nice swimming pool. Room and bathroom (especially the tub/shower) smaller than we were expecting for the price.

It's an older hotel, but the rooms were clean and had what we needed. Our balcony had a great view of the Caldera and was perfect for sitting out, having a coffee and taking in the view. The ladies at reception were lovely. We were able to check in early and leave our bags on the day we were leaving. The pool was great, especially after walking around in the heat. It's about a 5 minute walk to the bus station in Fira and close to all the shops and restaurants.

O hotel tem uma localização boa, perto de Fira e tem uma vista bonita do por do sol. Porem a vista do por do sol tem um prédio abandonado na frente e fica do outro lado da rua. O hotel esta bem pintado, conservado, mas são moveis e infra estrutura velhos. A piscina é ótima.

Very cute place. 5 min walk from the bus stop and even closer to shops and restaurants. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was really good. Comfy bed but the shower had issues draining. Beautiful view of the volcano.

O hotel é ótimo. Fica muito perto de Thira (5 minutos a pé), mas não fica no meio da bagunça, então achamos isso muito bom. O quarto que ficamos foi recentemente reformado. Banheiro moderno e chuveiro quentinho. A funcionária da recepção foi muito solícita e simpática e nos ajudou a organizar um passeio de barco, foi muito atenciosa com todas as nossas dúvidas. O café da manhã é ok, mas não achei maravilhoso. É das 8h às 10h, mas um dia chegamos às 9h30 e já não tinha mais nada, isso foi chato. Então recomendo que chegue às 9h no máximo para tomar café da manhã. Mesmo assim, eu com certeza recomendaria o hotel!

The ratings are based on the location of the room allocated to me.. The hotel itself is good, it has a pleasant staff and is conveniently located Close to stores and restaurants. I am a solo traveler but booked a more expensive large triple room with one double bed and one twin. Rooms with this layout were on the ground floor and since most hotels here did not have elevators or bell boys I had to choose this because I did not want to hassle with carrying the luggage. I was shocked when I was given Room number 3, right next to the Reception and breakfast area. Outside my front door and bathroom were stairs going upstairs and also stairs going downstairs to the rooms around the pool area. Also the door to one of the wings going to rooms such as mine was near my front door. The WC was also there. Everyone going to their rooms upstairs or downstairs would pass by my room. People also kept their bags/ suitcases near my front door if they were checking out later in the day. There was plenty of activity. My bathroom had a very small shower area with a flimsy plastic curtain and water would overflow. I asked if there was another room available and I was shown room number 2. Wonderful room with a view of the swimming pool outside the front door and it had a tub. The receptionist checked with the owners if she could give me this room but it was denied because it was held for a couple who were arriving the next day and they had stayed here previously.
The ratings are based on the location of the room allocated to me.. The hotel itself is good, it has a pleasant staff and is conveniently located Close to stores and restaurants. I am a solo traveler but booked a more expensive large triple room with one double bed and one twin. Rooms with this layout were on the ground floor and since most hotels here did not have elevators or bell boys I had to choose this because I did not want to hassle with carrying the luggage. I was shocked when I was given Room number 3, right next to the Reception and breakfast area. Outside my front door and bathroom were stairs going upstairs and also stairs going downstairs to the rooms around the pool area. Also the door to one of the wings going to rooms such as mine was near my front door. The WC was also there. Everyone going to their rooms upstairs or downstairs would pass by my room. People also kept their bags/ suitcases near my front door if they were checking out later in the day. There was plenty of activity. This hotel is in a great spot, the rooms are clean, and the pool is nice, but the rooms are a bit weird. The bathroom is right by the door, and the bed is up on a second level with low, arched ceilings that are a bit dangerous.

It's an older hotel, but the rooms were clean and had what we needed. Our balcony had a great view of the Caldera and was perfect for sitting out, having a coffee and taking in the view. The ladies at reception were lovely. We were able to check in early and leave our bags on the day we were leaving. The pool was great, especially after walking around in the heat. It's about a 5 minute walk to the bus station in Fira and close to all the shops and restaurants.

The Astir Thira Hotel was just on the outskirts of town. This was nice because it made for easier access in and out of town. It was a very short 3-5 minute walk. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We arrived before check-in and our room was ready for us which made it very convenient for us. The room was pleasantly clean and we had a nice view of the ocean off of our balcony. The only downside was that the main street separated the hotel from the balcony which made the room a little noisy during the day and early night. Later on at night it was relatively quiet. The room was somewhat small but this seems to be a theme when traveling in Greece. There was only a small hanging area for clothing and nowhere to put your luggage or other clothing. The bathroom area had no shelving for your toiletries and only two hooks for your towels. They would do themselves a favor if they installed more shelving in the bathroom and bedroom and hooks on the backside of the bathroom door. They also need a do not disturb sign for the rooms. The pool and surrounding area was very well maintained. Breakfast was included and was good. Staff was very friendly and always had a warm greeting. For the ladies who like to pack a hairdryer, there is no need to pack one if you stay here. My wife said the hairdryer they have is the absolute best she has ever used and is nothing short of amazing. We would easily stay here again.

O hotel é ótimo. Fica muito perto de Thira (5 minutos a pé), mas não fica no meio da bagunça, então achamos isso muito bom. O quarto que ficamos foi recentemente reformado. Banheiro moderno e chuveiro quentinho. A funcionária da recepção foi muito solícita e simpática e nos ajudou a organizar um passeio de barco, foi muito atenciosa com todas as nossas dúvidas. O café da manhã é ok, mas não achei maravilhoso. É das 8h às 10h, mas um dia chegamos às 9h30 e já não tinha mais nada, isso foi chato. Então recomendo que chegue às 9h no máximo para tomar café da manhã. Mesmo assim, eu com certeza recomendaria o hotel!

Hotel is close to bus station which was super convenient for us. Hotel is on its own and feels just a short walk outside of town but still close enough. Some aspects of hotel were great and others felt old. The staff was great and helpful in giving recomendations. Borrowed an umbrella from reception which was nice. Familly run hotel it appears. Given 1 water bottle upon check in and that’s it otherwise have to purchase more from reception, was not provided one each day and can’t drink the water from the tap. Shower configuration was odd and water got everywhere as no glass in front. Had to pay 6euro tax at check out.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. All of the staff were extremely helpful and kind, especially Eva. We arrived much earlier than check in time and were welcomed in to use the facilities (including pool, shower), store our luggage, and in general were made to feel comfortable and safe. Eva shared all information we might need to have the best time in Santorini. There is someone at the desk 24/7. The hotel is a 10 mins walk to central Fira, where there is lots of restaurants, the bus station and shops. Beautiful views and friendly atmosphere. Thank you!

Great place and perfect location for being close to town. The room was comfortable. The bath was ok (tiny) but the shower tube was too short and pinched to be able to park it in the slot overhead. It had to be hand held. Breakfast was good.
