Kampot Sweet Boutique

Fantastic hotel with large, clean rooms, a good breakfast, and a beautifully illuminated swimming pool. The staff were very helpful, especially the receptionist/manager who seemed to be working there 24 hours a day. 😉 Cons: the gym was poorly equipped. We were also sent to La Plantation pepper factory, which felt like a tourist trap — daylight robbery in white gloves. A terrible place. I recommend choosing other plantations run by local farmers rather than French colonial-style businesses.

The staff was very kind and attentive. Service was quick and the food was good, as were the cocktails. There is a happy hour nightly as well. The room was wonderful! The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and spacious, and the shower had a rain shower head and a hand-held option. The only think that I would caution visitors about is to not book through the hotel for a tuktuk or tour, as they charge double what you can get on your own. When I asked about this, I was told it is what the drivers give the hotel as prices, but do not think you need to oblige. You can easily get rides, etc using Grab and other sites. I didn't love that the pool was right beside the restaurant/lobby, as I prefer a quieter eating experience. The pool, however, had a great walk-in option and a ledge to sit along in the water. It was a small pool, but very nice. Overall, a lovely little spot and I would stay again.
