Found this little warm charming home and it was awesome. Old school home feel with hard wood floors Cosy bedrooms, nice hot showers, washer and dryer with use with complementary soap nice kitchen. It made you feel at home away from home. Will definitely do it again.

Jane’s Creek Cottage was very comfortable for my husband and I. The patio area would have been perfect for afternoon wine. However, it was cool and damp while we were in Arcata so maybe we can enjoy the patio next time. The location was great for running errands in town.

We wanted to stay somewhere central during our road trip to the Redwoods. Arcata was perfect as the Humboldt Redwood State Park (Avenue of the Giants) is to the south and the Redwood National Park (Trees of Mystery) is to the north. Jane's Cottage jumped out at us with its quaint and classic decor. What a fantastic location! Arriving right before dark, it was easy to find (excellent directions and access instructions were provided by the host) and we were delighted with this wonderfully appointed home. It is exactly as described with extra touches throughout to make it exceptional. As frequent travelers, we notice things like good toilet paper, nice tissues, high quality sheets, bedding and comfortable mattresses, lots of blankets, bath towels and extra pillows. The kitchen was well-stocked and the house simply had everything we needed to snuggle in after a long day. It was close to the 101 highway and to the college with a privacy we adored. It was a little cold so we didn't get to sit on the back porch or in the courtyard, but what nice amenities to offer guests. We would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting to avoid hotel hassles in a home away from your own.

Loved the property! Only complaint was stains on pillow cases which made us question whether they had been washed and no hot water for second shower. I had to take a cold shower this morning. Ugh! Also would be nice if lotion was available since we flew to Arcata and didn’t bring. Other than that, an amazing experience!! Thank you!

Great location! The place was very clean and the whole process was easy. Very accurate description. It's nice and quiet. If we ever get back to the area we would love to stay there again. The communication was also timely. The owners seem to really care about the property.

Had a nice stay at Jane's Creek! Super cute and comfy house. It's walking distance to HSU and a couple of minutes drive to the square. Great location for adventures to Trinidad and surrounding area. My only complaint would be the linens and towels were not cleaned well, they all had a really strange smell......like the laundry was done but soap was not used. We'd stay there again for sure with hopes that the linens were better smelling :-)

I mostly enjoyed staying here. However, some things to be aware of are the following: 1.) The house has a musty-moldy smell, especially upon entering the home in the kitchen. I’m not sure if it was that or the synthetic wood floor that gave me allergy-like symptoms. Luckily, we were out of the house doing things most of our stay. 2.) Freeway noise is very loud and present outside as well as lightly heard from the 1st bedroom. Sitting outside is not relaxing sound-wise if you are imagining a happy hour vibe. Patio furniture was filthy, but they had lots of towels so I just covered the chair. 3.) One roll of TP & no tissue worked till day 3 when it suddenly was clear there was no back-stock. 4.) Never got to watch TV because the two giant remotes didn’t correspond to the guest book notes on how to figure it out. 5.) Ancient shower head. A hand-held shower would make more sense for bathing and cleaning the shower. Light in shower glitches out; maybe check that. 6.) No GFCI outlets in kitchen. This is dangerous and not to code. Please update. 7.) There is someone living in part of the house with their own entrance. Not a problem but wish I had known that instead of being surprised by it. The good things include: cozy beds, beautiful wild garden views from the adorable, vintage kitchen windows, comfortable family room, centrally located, overall clean looking home, big kitchen, and a nice neighbor who drops off TP if needed. Overall, this is a nice sized cottage that was comfortable in more ways than not. I’m actually low-maintenance, but appreciate knowing what to expect so thought I’d share.

Overall, this is a great property that's comfortable and convenient. But there were a couple of things that you should know. First -- it's noisy. The traffic noise is really high as the house sits just off a major highway. Where I live is noisy, so it didn't bother me as much as it did my nephew who lives in a very quiet area. Second, the cleaning was a little slipshod. There was significant dust along with dropped articles under the beds and bathroom cabinets. I wouldn't generally comment on this but the items of furniture sit high and the floor isn't carpeted so a few additional sweeps wouldn't take that much effort. Given there's a cleaning fee but the resident is expected to strip the beds, gather laundry, take out all trash & recycling -- clean floors are not that much to ask for. This was my first time to the area and I loved it. If I came back, I would consider renting this property again.

The house was more than enough for two travelers. Very comfortable and quiet - I couldn’t hear my friend when she was in her room or other parts of the house. Some reviews mention freeway noise, and you can hear it, but it’s more like white noise and didn’t bother us at all. Location is close to everything. With access to the 101 it was an easy trip both North and South - and we explored both.We used a laptop for Netflix and Prime. The cord to hook up to the TV was already there.Plenty of room in the well equipped kitchen. We found everything we needed. You will need to bring your own coffee and bag of ice. The laundry room was well stocked.In short, no hassle and we LOVED it!

Would highly recommend this cottage to anyone visiting the area. Close to downtown, the coast and the redwoods. Large kitchen for eating in but also close to many great restaurants if you want to eat out. Beds are comfortable as well!

The kitchen was well-stocked and the house simply had everything we needed to snuggle in after a long day. It was close to the 101 highway and to the college with a privacy we adored. It was a little cold so we didn't get to sit on the back porch or in the courtyard, but what nice amenities to offer guests. We would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting to avoid hotel hassles in a home away from your own.

We love staying at Jane’s Cottage! It’s cozy, clean, and well-appointed. It’s very close to campus, so it’s perfect for visiting my daughter who is a student there. The communication with the property manager is remarkably prompt and attentive. We’ve stayed two times so far, and look forward to staying again!

We loved our stay at this house. The house was very clean, and very close to Cal Poly Humboldt where we were visiting our daughter at college for family week. We did have a few questions about the Tv and the owners responded extremely fast and helped us out. Highly recommend this cute little house.

My daughter and I were in town for a few days looking into Humboldt for the Fall semester. The location is about a 13 minute, nice walk to the university. The cottage is fully equipped and very comfortable. Decorated nicely and very clean. Hope was so kind and helpful. I highly recommend this property.

Arcata was perfect as the Humboldt Redwood State Park (Avenue of the Giants) is to the south and the Redwood National Park (Trees of Mystery) is to the north. We felt right at home here during our stay. The property was close to Highway 101 and nearby a good selection of restaurants and grocery stores in Arcata. (We're glad we didn't choose a Eureka stay with it's 20-something stop lights along 101.)

The house was more than enough for two travelers. Very comfortable and quiet - I couldn’t hear my friend when she was in her room or other parts of the house. Some reviews mention freeway noise, and you can hear it, but it’s more like white noise and didn’t bother us at all. Location is close to everything. With access to the 101 it was an easy trip both North and South - and we explored both.We used a laptop for Netflix and Prime. The cord to hook up to the TV was already there.Plenty of room in the well equipped kitchen. We found everything we needed. You will need to bring your own coffee and bag of ice. The laundry room was well stocked.In short, no hassle and we LOVED it!

This is the perfect spot to stay if you're visiting Cal Poly Humboldt. You won't find anything closer! Property was clean, quiet, and beds were comfy. If you're arriving at night when it's dark, be aware street lighting is minimal. This made it challenging to find the entrance. Highly recommend!

This cottage was the perfect base for our weekend visit! It is much larger than I anticipated, and was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was huge! The living room was spacious with a nice sectional couch. There is a laundry room next door to the cottage, which was a nice perk (although we didn't need to use it). This is a great place to stay if you want to be close to everything but feel like you are in the country.
This cottage was the perfect base for our weekend visit! It is much larger than I anticipated, and was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was huge! The living room was spacious with a nice sectional couch. There is a laundry room next door to the cottage, which was a nice perk (although we didn't need to use it). This is a great place to stay if you want to be close to everything but feel like you are in the country.

My dad and I came out to visit the Redwoods, and this felt like a pretty good home-base. It was spacious and had all the amenities we needed for a fair price. We loved having on-site laundry facilities and communication was clear. There was a strong smell, but everything was clean and worked well for us.

Great place to stay with all the comforts of home. Some road noise at night in the front bedroom but some white noise did the trick for sleeping.

It’s an old farmhouse but cutely decorated. It needs more lights. It’s dark. It needs a curtain over the front door. There is car noise going by in front of house but not dramatically loud. It was super clean. The towels were abundant and fluffy. Good price. Beds very comfy.
