Wonderful facility and staff. Well managed by Patrick Krauth and Sergio Bahamon. Only downside is long walk with many steps to get to the beach near hotel. Not recommended for people with knee or back issues or handicapped.

This resort was worth every penny. It is absolutely gorgeous. Service is excellent. Beautiful and lush during the rainy season but rains very little on the coast. We used the snorkeling equipment provided there. Booked a surf lesson, cooking class, monkey watching tour, and bioluminescence tour in outrigger canoes. The whole peninsula is very safe with gate guards at the entrance to the peninsula as well as the resort itself. Complimentary shuttles to the nature center, the beach club, and to the restaurants at the other resorts on The peninsula (we had two excellent dinners at the Andaz, one at the dive bar at the neighboring marina, and one at the Prieto beach club with stunning sunset views. My husband and I as well as our two teens all loved it. Would return here in a heartbeat.

The rooms are decent size and have very nice balconies. Linens and toiletries were very nice as well. The staff was extremely friendly, but not always attentive; maybe it’s cultural? We used the new beach club area which isn’t fully operable yet but we really enjoyed that area and the food was great. The morning breakfast buffet was excellent but the other restaurants for lunch and dinner weren’t anything special. We would recommend this hotel to anyone going to the beautiful Papagayo Peninsula and that cannot afford the Four Seasons.

Staff was outstanding, food was excellent, weather was perfect, loved the monkeys and iguanas, kayaks, jet skis, pools, consistently available seating, nearby empty beach, and electric bikes. Would have liked more activities (water skiing or tubing, ping pong, billiards outdoors, etc.). Having additional restaurant options would be good.

This is a beautiful property in a spectacular location. It is great for hikers and walkers, the property is spread out and hilly, and it was really hot. So, be ready for some Sherpa hikes! The staff is very accommodating to shuttle you around on golf carts but then you aren’t enjoying the gorgeous scenery.

El hotel estaba en construcción, uno de sus restaurantes estaba cerrado por remodelación. Había mucho ruido desde las 7am hasta las 5pm. Al momento de hacer la reservación no hubo ninguna nota o aviso de estas obras dentro del hotel. Las habitaciones limpias, pero ya necesitan cambiar muebles y remodelar las habitaciones. El staff del hotel hizo todo lo posible para ayudarnos, sin embargo decidí hacer el check out antes de lo previsto El precio del hotel fue muy alto y no la pasamos nada bien

Super disappointed to have paid a substantial amount of money for Bay View, to wake up to nothing but trees completely covering any visible ocean view. We didn’t notice until the following morning when we woke up due to arriving after dark, otherwise I would have made the complaint immediately.

Short, business trip in Papagayo. The rooms are neat, nice balcony views. The lightning switch on the bedrooms is an issue. They all dim instead if going on or off. Can’t turn off the bathroom light. It dims but turns on the minute you move. Can be bothersome for couple in the early morning. Beach is okay. Not their main feature. Proximity to the marina was the main attraction for me. Breakfast was great, need to make a decision with the monkeys. Can’t have them as a tourist magnet and not deal with the scares they give folks while having breakfast. Dinning restaurant had a great ambience and live music. Food was good. Some may have issues on pricing vs value but that depends on what you prioritize.

Property is a bit outdated and needs some updating. Lots of families with kids around main pool and not enough seating. We were family of four with two teenage kids in a room with two queen beds. Only complaint on the room is that there is no separation between the main room and bathroom. Toilet and shower doors are both frosted glass and you can see right through. Leaves nothing to the imagination. Strange for a room with two beds. We hung up towels to cover the doors and survived. The private beach available by shuttle was the highlight in the property. Beautiful beach, pool and restaurant. Food in general was a bit overpriced and it didn’t seem like there were enough options. Meso at Casa de Playa was our favourite but unfortunately closed early and shut down for a wedding on our last night. All in all a beautiful spot on the peninsula but would consider paying more for a slightly elevated experience.

This is a beautiful property. The best thing about the property is the staff. EVERY staff member was friendly and professional. Andres in Chao Pescao was our favorite. Breakfast was the best meal. LOVED the buffet. Dinners were good, not excellent. Billing was needlessly confusing and we caught a couple of mistakes. Should be in all dollars or all Colones.
