Great location if you are visiting UVA. Rooms are new, clean, great decor with a record player and records. A few things to note: It's a refurbished motel. You have to park in the garage down the street or find street parking. They have a airstream on site which is open in the morning (but not later in the afternoon and evening). So there are not on-site options for food/drink outside of these hours. Finally, there is student housing across the street. Sadly, on the night we stayed at the motel, there was a huge party. Students were playing loud music from an outdoor speaker from the time we arrived until the time I called the police at 11 pm. Not at all an issue with the hotel itself, but something to consider if you really want a quiet spot.

What an adorable hotel! I loved the 50s theme. The room was clean and quite attractive. They thought of everything- from a record player in the room to a noise canceling machine. The staff was friendly and helpful. If I had anything negative to say, its that parking is a challenge. There is no designated parking or a parking lot, so you have to park on the street. I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel had no parking. It is located along student housing so there is non existent street parking and the only lot is $3 an hour, 24x7. The hotel needs to do something about that.

Beautifully appointed hotel in the center of UVA; however, there were some significant challenges. Problem 1: Parking. Parking was problematic, really non-existent. If you are going to stay here - utilize Uber/Lyft because there were more parking enforcement officers than spaces. Problem 2: NOISE! The hotel is adjacent to a railroad track so at least twice during the sleeping hours of midnight to 7am we heard (and felt) freight trains passing through. Also, we were on the ground level and heard tons of foot-stomping and general movement from our neighbors above. Overall a nice hotel. When I went to formally check-out at 1030, the front lobby was locked and a sign on the door said be back at 2pm....huh?

A bit surprised to find out that there was no on site parking. We parked across the street. The place is cute; bed very comfortable and clean; bathroom very large with a good shower. I think someone smoked in our room previously. This probably should be considered a motel, not a hotel. No dining except the food truck out front which was closed. The front desk service was excellent.

The hotel, located within blocks of the university, was perfect for my visit. The hotel was extremely clean and a friendly welcome at the front desk. Train did wake me but added a quaint touch to my experience. Picked the hotel for its unique feel and funky vibe. Loved it and would go back - within my budget. Thank you for a relaxing stay in Charlottesville.

Well appointed room but the towels were stained and it’s LOUD. Not just from nearby partying UVA students, but from people walking in their room above ours. Loved the vibe, decor, bathroom but those two negatives left us wanting more.

Other than shower clogged and the record player missing (which we loved from previous stay and they did bring one when I asked), everything is very nice and clean. Close to campus and walking distance to food.

This is a very unique property with throwbacks to the '60s! The rooms are quite recently updated, and very comfortable. They have a Little Mod trailer for morning and lunch food, made to order which is very good. Within walking distance to many of the UVA standard haunts, eateries. Overall a great place.

The location is great, and the staff were excellent. It’s a fairly noise location, and the room doors open to outside. Also, our deadbolt didn’t latch, and one of the fixtures in the bathroom was not securely attached. The staff did a great job of accommodating our needs, however, and I’d consider staying here again.

It's very clean and the aesthetic is nice. It's in an excellent location, and the room was very affordable. The only real issue was the lack of basic hotel amenities. The rooms have a fridge, bed, full bathroom, and a TV, and that's about it. I don't need a microwave, but not having any sort of closet with clothes hangers or an iron was a huge pain when traveling for a wedding. The office told us they have a single iron and ironing board for the whole hotel, so while we requested one, we never got it (others were using it). They allegedly have hangers, but only on request, and we were told they had none available at the moment. I had to go buy some at a nearby store. If I weren't traveling for a formal event, this might not have been noticeable. Just keep in mind that if you need to bring something like a suit, you may need to find your own way to iron and hang it.

I booked this hotel as a romantic vacation with my wife and it was difficult to check in, we had to download an app and didn’t actually need to? We were told parking would be $7 and somehow I ended up paying $32 dollars for it. I had to call someone 5 times to check in because there was no one at the desk. I liked the vibe of the place online but we didn’t realize this hotel was basically on frat row at UVA. We loved listening to people yell and scream in the streets and Disturbia by Rhianna 4 times after having a romantic night out. It was not the vibe at all. Who opens a hotel in the middle of student housing? There was garbage everywhere we are just bummed out! My wife and I planned this vaca out and this was a huge flop for us. The lack of communication in the office and weird vibe of the neighborhood makes us sure we will not be back.

I got there the first night, train was so loud shook building, no parking, I had to pay 60 at public parking, when staff told me it was 7 a day. I ask to end my 3 day stay early to move to a different hotel, not an option . I had to carry all my luggage up 4 flights of stairs at garage down the street at 6 am . It is on frat house row and loud. The lobby has very limited hours, you are given a number to text or call with issues. Never again ! Don’t stay there!

Terrible. Do not stay here if you need any amenities or staff to be there whatsoever. It’s right on top of fraternity houses. The food truck looked awful and was barely open. No staff in office the whole time. No parking anywhere.

The kindness and helpfulness of the person at the desk when I arrived. She was great. Sorry not to recall her name, but she recently had a baby.

Pleasant property very comfortable beds. Great location for walking to a football game or around town to shops and restaurants. The young man running the lobby when we arrived was charming and made us feel welcome and answered all of our questions. The hotel is located near the corner so expect a lot of foot traffic and some noise but not late into the night. Students and townies are welcoming and it’s fun to be near the action. We went for a football game so there was a lot of beer drinking and beer cans and bottles strewn about our block. I hope the students cleaned up the next morning.

I ended up at Little Mod Hotel after a horrendous snafu by Expedia. They were super helpful in getting me into my room as soon as possible on very little notice. This boutique hotel is the best parts of mid-century mod, with all the function and comfort of today. The area is very walkable with Main St. only a block and a half away.

Beautifully appointed hotel in the center of UVA; however, there were some significant challenges. Problem 1: Parking. Parking was problematic, really non-existent. If you are going to stay here - utilize Uber/Lyft because there were more parking enforcement officers than spaces. Problem 2: NOISE! The hotel is adjacent to a railroad track so at least twice during the sleeping hours of midnight to 7am we heard (and felt) freight trains passing through. Also, we were on the ground level and heard tons of foot-stomping and general movement from our neighbors above. Overall a nice hotel. When I went to formally check-out at 1030, the front lobby was locked and a sign on the door said be back at 2pm....huh?

Very new and clean. Nice style and decor. Really close to railroad track, I was surprised by the loud noise. I heard only one train though. Also near dinning and UVA, perfect location. Street parking available.

Cannot beat the location for convenience to UVA campus. Newly renovated and clean. As there are bars and restaurants nearby, those sensitive to noise might wish to bring earplugs.

We loved the retro look of the room and the hotel. As other reviewers noted, the hotel is close to sorority and fraternity houses, so there's a lot of party-related noise and activity. Also, the only free parking is on the street, so it can be hard to find a spot. We definitely will stay again because we loved the hotel and its proximity to UVA Grounds and restaurants.

This is a great little hotel in a very convenient location. I found the staff very friendly and the room very comfy. The vibe of the place is great. However, I can't give it a 5* rating because of the noise. The rooms are not well noise-insulated from other rooms or the outside. I stayed there on a Friday night and if you are there while UVA is in session it is a "bar night" you can expect to hear a lot of noise. Also it is right next to the train tracks and when the train comes through - wow! You can feel the rumble as well as hear it loud and clear. Nonetheless, I loved the hotel and would stay there again. OH - also nowhere to park - but I knew about that and was prepared!

Cute renovated motel. Friendly staff, easy check-in, cute rooms with record players and other retro fitting. Located in the middle of UVA and near the train tracks it’s extremely noisy, students out partying late, trains passing loudly. Also did not love the shower, partially open with no curtain. Mod pod coffee was good, breakfast tacos were okay, no kolaches as advertised. There is no bar as indicated in some descriptions and our room did not have blackout curtains either. The noise factor will likely prevent me to stay again—maybe ask for a room in the center of the hotel?

You have to park in the garage down the street or find street parking. They have a airstream on site which is open in the morning (but not later in the afternoon and evening). So there are not on-site options for food/drink outside of these hours. Finally, there is student housing across the street. Sadly, on the night we stayed at the motel, there was a huge party. Students were playing loud music from an outdoor speaker from the time we arrived until the time I called the police at 11 pm. Not at all an issue with the hotel itself, but something to consider if you really want a quiet spot.

Great spot for visiting campus, we walked everywhere. Room was VERY clean and fun retro feel. Beds comfortable and nice bathroom. Would recommended and stay again. Got coffee from mod pod!

Very cute, spacious and clean. Location is excellent for UVA grounds/activities. Beware there is a train that runs in the wee hours. The Mod Pod wasn’t open while we were there, but there are other coffee shops nearby.

This is a very unique property with throwbacks to the '60s! The rooms are quite recently updated, and very comfortable. They have a Little Mod trailer for morning and lunch food, made to order which is very good. Within walking distance to many of the UVA standard haunts, eateries. Overall a great place.

A bit surprised to find out that there was no on site parking. We parked across the street. The place is cute; bed very comfortable and clean; bathroom very large with a good shower. I think someone smoked in our room previously. This probably should be considered a motel, not a hotel. No dining except the food truck out front which was closed. The front desk service was excellent.

I stayed here for a night before going to Monticello. It’s a cute, quirky redone motel/hotel near UVA. With quirky comes some side effects like you can hear people moving around above, as I feel like the people below me probably heard me too (sorry!). There’s a train track right behind the property and you do hear the freight trains coming through. Also, there’s no on sight parking. Despite all of that, it was a great room. It had a sink, fridge, and record player. The room itself was huge and the bathroom had fun tile. I really liked that they were eco friendly with their shower toiletries. They have a food truck to order breakfast. I enjoyed a smoothie.

Very cute small hotel that is reasonably priced! The rooms were bigger than we expected, and it was great having access to the pool at their sister location on the UVA campus. Would stay here again if I were in Charlottesville.
