MOOD HAUS by DW - 70's Retro Stays

HORRIBLE experience with mood haus, AVOID THIS PLACE! I never leave reviews but the situation we experienced at Mood haus was truly so unsafe I feel compelled to warn others. We checked in around 6pm and immediately noticed the sliding door to the unit wouldn’t lock. For context this is a first floor unit that faces the street with nothing but a gate between us and the street. We called the front desk and they sent someone to look at the door who took a video and confirmed the lock was broken. We were assured someone would call us to figure out a solution—no one did. At 9:00pm we began to worry and called back for a status update, and were told no one could fix the door that night, and that the only option was to have one of the staff “lock us in from the outside” before we went to bed. This would mean that we’d be unable to leave the room, and essentially be trapped overnight. I work in emergency medicine and knew how dangerous and unsafe this suggestion was, so I requested they move us to another room. They of course had no additional rooms available. I requested that they find us additional lodging as it was now 10pm in a city we were unfamiliar with. They said the best they could do was refund our reservation. I asked to speak to a manager multiple times and was told none were available. So our options were to be trapped in a room overnight, or find a new hotel (the going rate for which was approximately 3 times the original price of the room). Completely unacceptable.

It was cute and cozy

Loved this place! It was very beautiful and the check-in instructions were clear and easy. It was also pretty close to the airport and lots of great restaurants. It had everything you could need during an extended trip - so I wish we could have stayed here longer. I really liked the outside soaking tub. They even left us a bath bomb to use.

Great stay. Such a nice vibe with thought put into all of the details. Central location.

Walking distance to a lot of restaurants. The main area AC didn’t work well so we hung out in the bedrooms vs the living area. Overall lovely stay.
