Great little chill oasis in the midst of Tamarindo. Was great to sit next to pool in the evening and have live music with beach bar vibes. Rooms are very basic, but common area really nice and location could not be better.

I’ll start with THE PRO’s The grounds are nice with lots of trees and fauna. The people that work there are nice and friendly. The location to the night life and shops are close to the hotel. They have a 2 for 1 happy hour from 4 to 6 pm every day. There were howler monkeys nearby and some iguanas. Two nice orange kitties, one is missing an eye. Good security. Met a lot of nice people THE CON’s When we got there in the afternoon about a hour before check in time, the door was locked, because the reception person was running around doing everything. After a little wait, not to bad. The hotel has seen better days. The deck around the pool is falling apart. While we were there for 4 days, I never seen the pool get cleaned. They ask you to not turn the ac below 24C. You cannot put anything in the toilet except what comes out of your body. Toilet paper and such must go in a waste basket! The food at the restaurant is just OK. Parking is on a busy road. We had nothing to set our suitcase's on, so we had to set them on the beds, not good. TV’s are not great. Very, very noisy from loud motorcycles, heavy trucks and loud music. Probably will not go back.

Great location - close enough to the beach, but away from all the noise. Was able to hear howler monkeys and birds throughout our stay. Food was excellent. Room was clean. Pool was great. Staff were so friendly and helpful! There was even live music for one of the nights in the restaurant!

A beautiful oasis close to all the action of Tam. Staff were excellent and accommodating. Rooms were extra clean, patio with hammock was heaven. Pool area was quiet but allowed for chats with other guests. Would definitely recommend and will stay again.

This was a cute hotel. The amenities and pool area are nice and it is a great location. Walking distance to the beach where we were able to rent chairs and surf. Walking distance to many restaurants and the nightlife which all fell safe. Parking is also easy. However, the actual room of the hotel is not anything special. It is very plain and straightforward but was good for us because we were really only in the room for sleep for our 3 day stay.
This was a cute hotel. The amenities and pool area are nice and it is a great location. Walking distance to the beach where we were able to rent chairs and surf. Walking distance to many restaurants and the nightlife which all fell safe. Parking is also easy. However, the actual room of the hotel is not anything special. It is very plain and straightforward but was good for us because we were really only in the room for sleep for our 3 day stay.

Loved our stay at this little oasis! So close to everything but once you step onto the property it feels like you’re miles away from everything! Seeing monkeys, squirrels , iguanas, different kinds of birds and of course , the two residents cats everyday was such a treat! We would definitely stay here again!! Pura Vida!!

This is a very cute boutique hotel that’s conveniently located across from a grocery store and near the beach and dining options. The pool was great and we saw monkeys in the trees above the pool! We only ate breakfast at the restaurant and it was just so so. We were able to store our luggage at the reception desk before getting our room and after we checked out which was really convenient. We arrived really early from a night flight and couldn’t get our room until 1 PM and we were able to enjoy the pool during that time which was great. It’s a little loud near the road and restaurants, but ear plugs helped. The little patio out front of our room was really nice.

So ive been coming to this hotel for a while. It seems like ownership has changed and with that the condition of the property. The rooms and buildings itself are falling apart, and they're very cheap with simple toilet paper. And on top of that the property is dirty and landscaping is being neglected and the pool was dirty. Its a shame, i wish ownership hadnt change i definitely wont be going back.

The grounds was beautiful. More mosquitoes than other properties we stayed, even in the rainforest area - though that is the price you pay for all the greenery around you. Pool was nice and warm, though trees above drop things into the pool so it is hit or miss whether clean or not. Wi-Fi did not work in our room. That all said, the room was nice, location was good, and overall we enjoyed it.

This is a boutique hotel with quaint clean rooms. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food at the restaurant is more expensive than other restaurants in town so didn’t eat there but in the morning they had delicious free coffee for guests.

The room was clean but small. The bathroom was extremely small, when you sat on the toilet your knees were touching the wall. Sower also very tight and small. Ants walking everywhere in the room and bathroom. The noise at night was unbearable, loud music blasting until 1:30 am.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. The room was filled with ants (small black ones and big red ones), lizards and other small insects. I personally had to dispatch multiple ants and one lizard. The room, bed, closet and everything else is old and crumbling and filthy. The blanket, hairdryer and bathroom floor were all covered in dirt, stains or god knows what else. The neighborhood is incredibly noisy and despite purchasing and using ear plugs, we could hear the neighbors and the loud music from the 3 surrounding bars/restaurants. We asked the management to come and do something about the ants and nobody contacted us or did anything about it! This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed at and we actually checked out early and stayed the remaining 3 nights in another hotel, at our own expense! I've been a long time Expedia customer and have never had my money wasted like this. I'm shocked this place has the ratings that it does! I took plenty of pictures and will be contact Expedia management about this property.

We enjoyed our stay. The pool was lovely and felt very private and relaxing. The property was enclosed and felt safe. There was a lot of noise from the street at night and nightlife but that isn’t uncommon in lively beach towns. Our room specifically wasn’t great. The toilet didn’t flush correctly and it needed some upgrades (fresh paint, new floor, etc). it seemed clean otherwise and we had no issues with bugs inside our room.

We stayed in the full suite, with Kitchen and Sitting Area. The space is good, the bed was comfortable, but the Living Room furniture was not. It's an easy walk to shops and restaurants in town. Staff were all nice.

The front desk staff needs a lot of training. Very unwelcoming and didn’t go over basic information such as the hours breakfast was served and that it was included. The keys for the doors don’t always work. We did have monkeys in the tree right above our room which was pretty cool.

When we arrived, we were greeted and escorted to our bungalow. Pool was beautiful and very clean. Diego and David were amazing and made our stay special. There is a grocery store across the street, which made it very convenient. I recommend staying at Hotel Pasatiempo when Tamarindo! We ❤️ Costa Rica and the wonderful people!
When we arrived, we were greeted and escorted to our bungalow. Pool was beautiful and very clean. Diego and David were amazing and made our stay special. There is a grocery store across the street, which made it very convenient. I recommend staying at Hotel Pasatiempo when Tamarindo! We ❤️ Costa Rica and the wonderful people!

This is a boutique hotel with quaint clean rooms. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food at the restaurant is more expensive than other restaurants in town so didn’t eat there but in the morning they had delicious free coffee for guests.

A beautiful oasis close to all the action of Tam. Staff were excellent and accommodating. Rooms were extra clean, patio with hammock was heaven. Pool area was quiet but allowed for chats with other guests. Would definitely recommend and will stay again.

It was a pleasant stay nothing to complain very walkable to the center of tamarindo. I have to complain about the fact I went to the office three times one to book my transportation back to SJO airport and twice to confirm my transportation, I was told it was all confirmed and the day of checkout the driver never showed up and sent a new driver (thankfully got us on time to our flight 5hr drive) they acted like this was no problem and blew it off when it wasn't I was flying international and could be late and miss my flight. The people at the front desk never confirmed our transportation. So I would say make sure you get all the info and numbers and confirm yourself with the driver. Other than that it was very nice hotel.

We had a flooding situation in our room due to heavy rains…however I still give this place a 5! They moved us to a new room, refunded the first night, washed all our clothes for us that got wet and offered free breakfast during the rest of our stay. The staff was so helpful and kind and made an unfortunate weather situation so much better!

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. The room was filled with ants (small black ones and big red ones), lizards and other small insects. I personally had to dispatch multiple ants and one lizard. The room, bed, closet and everything else is old and crumbling and filthy. The blanket, hairdryer and bathroom floor were all covered in dirt, stains or god knows what else. The neighborhood is incredibly noisy and despite purchasing and using ear plugs, we could hear the neighbors and the loud music from the 3 surrounding bars/restaurants. We asked the management to come and do something about the ants and nobody contacted us or did anything about it! This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed at and we actually checked out early and stayed the remaining 3 nights in another hotel, at our own expense! I've been a long time Expedia customer and have never had my money wasted like this. I'm shocked this place has the ratings that it does! I took plenty of pictures and will be contact Expedia management about this property.

Noise is an issue. If you are not in this area to party this may not be your place. Neighboring bars play loud music from about 11 pm to 3 am. For families, this is not the place to stay. However, this place is great if the noise is not an issue for you. It is an oasis in the craziness of Tamarindo. The people are great, the grounds are nice. Easy to walk everywhere from here. The rooms may be slightly dated but that was not an issue for us. Very comfortable.

Great location - close enough to the beach, but away from all the noise. Was able to hear howler monkeys and birds throughout our stay. Food was excellent. Room was clean. Pool was great. Staff were so friendly and helpful! There was even live music for one of the nights in the restaurant!

This was a cute hotel. The amenities and pool area are nice and it is a great location. Walking distance to the beach where we were able to rent chairs and surf. Walking distance to many restaurants and the nightlife which all fell safe. Parking is also easy. However, the actual room of the hotel is not anything special. It is very plain and straightforward but was good for us because we were really only in the room for sleep for our 3 day stay.

Would absolutely stay here again! Great Service, perfect small feel like you left town yet you are right in the middle of it. THE BEST in room Coffee as well. I loved the location, we did not drive at all for 3 days and did a lot. Easy 6 min walk to beach and less thatln that to MANY restaurants. Mini market right across street

This is a very cute boutique hotel that’s conveniently located across from a grocery store and near the beach and dining options. The pool was great and we saw monkeys in the trees above the pool! We only ate breakfast at the restaurant and it was just so so. We were able to store our luggage at the reception desk before getting our room and after we checked out which was really convenient. We arrived really early from a night flight and couldn’t get our room until 1 PM and we were able to enjoy the pool during that time which was great. It’s a little loud near the road and restaurants, but ear plugs helped. The little patio out front of our room was really nice.

We booked this as a last minute stay for two nights and decided to leave after one night. Super disappointed with this place. Overpriced for what we got. There were ants all over our room when we got there. No hot water to take a shower before bed. The property cat scratched our kid in the morning when he went out to sit in the patio chair. The breakfast you can buy with it includes cereal and bread. And they ran out of butter and said there was no more. Same with the coffee. We checked out early and told them we were dissatisfied and they didn’t offer any sort of credit or refund for the second night we didn’t stay nor follow up to apologize for the experience. Horrible service and stay overall. We do not plan to go back.

Well maintained and the property itself is quiet. The on site restaurant was nice and they make great breakfast and nachos. The a/c was quiet and efficient. Great location for beach access and every restaurant you can imagine. Farmers market nearby 2 days a week. Bring ear plugs for potential howler monkeys and the bar nearby that plays music until 2am.

Great little chill oasis in the midst of Tamarindo. Was great to sit next to pool in the evening and have live music with beach bar vibes. Rooms are very basic, but common area really nice and location could not be better.

From USA. Enjoyed stay here. Staff was awesome especially bartender Daniel. Breakfast was included and very practical. Room was clean. A few insects here and there but thats to be expected. Quiet and safe feel. Open mic at bar on Wednesday was fun!

I’ll start with THE PRO’s The grounds are nice with lots of trees and fauna. The people that work there are nice and friendly. The location to the night life and shops are close to the hotel. They have a 2 for 1 happy hour from 4 to 6 pm every day. There were howler monkeys nearby and some iguanas. Two nice orange kitties, one is missing an eye. Good security. Met a lot of nice people THE CON’s When we got there in the afternoon about a hour before check in time, the door was locked, because the reception person was running around doing everything. After a little wait, not to bad. The hotel has seen better days. The deck around the pool is falling apart. While we were there for 4 days, I never seen the pool get cleaned. They ask you to not turn the ac below 24C. You cannot put anything in the toilet except what comes out of your body. Toilet paper and such must go in a waste basket! The food at the restaurant is just OK. Parking is on a busy road. We had nothing to set our suitcase's on, so we had to set them on the beds, not good. TV’s are not great. Very, very noisy from loud motorcycles, heavy trucks and loud music. Probably will not go back.

The location is very convenient to everything but can be a little noisy at night (mostly talking about the bad karaoke singing haha). There are many animals around which is fun to see. The property is really charming. The breakfast options could be better for vegans but the staff tried their best to accommodate us. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel

Small hotel with a nice made to order restaurant. Within walking distance of everything you need. Across the street is a grocery store, down the street is the beach, coffee shops, many different restaurants. I was there with two children (10, 11,) and my husband and we felt safe the entire time. The hotel has security and closes a gate at night. Would stay here again and would definitely recommend. We saw cool birds, iguanas and monkeys while there!

The hotel is a very short walk to the main downtown area. Just far enough away to avoid the noise but close enough to be there in a few minutes. The pool is amazing! Staff is very helpful and courteous. The room was clean and air conditioned, and the beds were comfortable.
