Carole Motel

Price was cheap so I was not expecting much. However, reason why it is so cheap is because: no staff facility, you need to pick up the key about 3 min driving distance or 20 min walking distance from the motel. Train going by next to the motel all throughout the day and night. I woke up many timea during the middle of the night because of the noise. One towel, no dryer. No power next to the bed. If you are okay with these conditions, this would not be too bad for you. For me, it was okay other than the train noise and no hair dryer.

Great price! Easy drive to historic district (only 4 miles). Nice having fridge and microwave in room. Staff is friendly. It was impossible to lock the windows because latch was broken. Room is on ground floor, so this should be fixed. Motel is right next to active freight train yard, so it's pretty noisy.

Staff excellent. Facilities catered to dogs but still felt clean. Would stay here again

The office on site is closed so you are expected to drive to a different location to check in/out. The smell of cleaning chemical is overwhelming to the point that it made us sick. We had to make our own bed with the poor excuse of a blanket that was left. It is directly across from a very active railway close to a mill that smells atrocious! The fridge, microwave and tv are all plugged into the same outlet which poses a fire hazard. There was no hot water in the bathroom sink, the towel bar was broken and the room would never get to a comfortable temperature.

The room was very clean. No frills. You get what you pay for. No laundry facility, no coffee in the room, no little soaps or shampoo. I would stay here again.

It is a short drive down the road. We seriously got to the Krispy Krunchy at 8:58 pm and were able to get our key card from the nice young

Had roaches in the room. Coffee hour did not begin till 8:30 so had to get coffee the day before and heat in the microwave Since no room cleaning occurs ran short on towel service.

The room was very minimalistic which was ok to a point. But when 2 people are registered for a room you would think there would be 2 chairs. We also had difficulty accessing the room despite following the instructions.

Met basic needs but a lot of train noise - train switch yard across the street. Clean, basic, and cheap room in a poor area of Savannah. No coffee in the morning.

The place was near the downtown. No host greeted us upon arrival and key retrieval was on another inn. Clean room however there were dirts in the bedsheet and the chair was awful. Lastly, in the middle of our sleep at around 3 AM, we heard someone knocked on our door and there were people outside, I think homeless, making some noise that made us awake for a quite time and most especially, unsafe.

The stay wasn't bad!! If I could change anything it would be the roaches. We saw so many in the room.

The description and photos on Expedia DO NOT reflect the true conditions of this place. The room was very old and the furniture was very dirty. I immediately checked for bed bugs after first entering the room which should tell you something. Also, the room smelled like cat urine until the A/C was turned on and the door left open to air it out. There were many other issues that I could mention but I think you get the idea that this is a motel you should pass up and find something else. We were going to leave and find another hotel but the owners left the property and were not available and we had been driving all day and were very tired so we decided to stay since it was just for a few hours before we would be leaving to continue our trip north.

Had a bit of a problem checking in as the owner temporarily lost a key, but I don't think this is typical. Room was small but adequate and clean. A lot of the walls were tiled (unique) and probably contributed to the cleanliness. I rather liked the look. Bathroom was fine.

The place didn't notify that check-in in another location. TV didn't work and there was anyone to attemd to it. The room had huge cockroaches and there was no cleaning service.

The room i stayed in was literally falling apart. The popcorn ceiling was peeling in the bathroom bathroom sink was not attached to it's base or the wall. I had to birdbath in the sink because there was no hot water in the shower. Window unit was ridiculously loud. And the tv was broken. Overall, my stay at the carole motel was absolutely horribly disappointing.

Management is the best overall. Rooms are great. Convenient to all of Savannah. I would recommend and i will return. You might hear a train whistle because its close to the port. Nothing late at night though. Train only goes 5mph.

The morning of our stay, we received a text message that we were being moved to a different (sister) motel. We got to the "Inn on 17" and found the room to be much smaller than what we had booked (not the queen bed room we were expecting). The motel room itself was pretty clean but appeared to still be under construction as there were no towel bars, no closet, no hooks to hang anything anywhere and no drawers. The water pressure in the shower was poor at best. When we contacted Hotels.com about the discrepancy, the hotel manager advised that we had been moved to a larger room than the one we had originally booked. This was an outright lie as the room we got was not big enough to fit a queen-sized bed. The room looked partially finished (still under construction) as the headboard area looked like pieces of floor underlayment that had been glued to the wall. Conclusion, we do not recommend staying at either the Carol or Inn on 17 motels.

Have stayed here many times both 1 night and longer stays. It's always a great value and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

Management was very accommodating to my needs.

I booked the room and then started driving from NC to Savannah, Georgia. Im disabled and have to make alot stops so it was after 9pm. I did not see message they sent me. The door said to check in at hotel down the road. It was midnight and my gps was being whack. I could not find the other hotel. It was late and I was exhausted so I went another hotel. I got the travel insurance. I sent them 2 messages regarding getting refunded for the 3 days left on the reservation. I agree with paying for first night. I have not heard from them and no refund.

Although I had an Expedia-made reservation, which I shared with them, they told me they were booked!

Front desk lady is always very nice and helpful. Its because of her, I'll continue to return.

The hotel is in an unsafe area. No front desk staff to check you in.

Stay was pretty good apart from the sounds of the trains on the nearby railway.

It's right across the street from the port and it's a very shady place to be. Unfortunately I checked out after 2 hours I wasn't comfortable at all whatsoever

Although we enjoyed our stay, our room had no hand soap, no chair, no lamp, no coffee maker and there was a lack of electrical outlets. The staff personnel were great!
