Der Böglerhof - pure nature spa resort

The hotel is situated perfectly for walking into the small town of Alpbach or for setting off on one of the many possible mountain hikes in the area. Facilities: stainless steel lined indoor/outdoor heated swimming pool with bar service. Plenty of towels available. We paid the half-board rate to get breakfast and dinner included. We are vegetarian and I was pleased to see a full five-course vegetarian dinner each day. The courses are smaller than one often finds in similar places (as they state on the menu) with the option of having seconds. I thought this was excellent. The menu was very varied, and I thought the vegetarian dishes were very imaginative. Parking is available in a small underground garage (free) with spaces that are 'cozy' but workable. Our second floor room was comfortable and quite large with a balcony that overlooked the pool. The bathroom was small but very clean with a tub/shower combo. Nice touches: chocolates in the room on arrival, robes for walking to and from the pool area, a backpack and umbrella to use for outings, a stocked refrigerator in the room (reasonable prices), a daily news letter delivered at breakfast each day with suggestions for outings, the weather, events, and so on. One surprise was that the hotel has a library - an excellent place to sit quietly and read. The bar just inside from the pool was also a quiet area and had a few board games. Staff: I found the staff to be excellent. They all speak German and English.
