Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen. Konnten direkt (es war schön 18uhr) unser Abendessen für später buchen und direkt mit dem Auto vor unserem eigenen Eingang fahren. Die Häuschen sind total super und toll eingerichtet. Der Dachboden kann über eine Treppe erreicht werden, allerdings muss man hier den Kopf einziehen, zum Entspannen und Sterne/Nordlichter schauen, eine super Sache. Das Abendessen kann ich nur empfehlen. Das Frühstück war auch gut, allerdings war der Saft irgendwie wässrig. Zudem gibt es noch eine kleine Ecke zum shoppen, hier sind glaube ich alle Sachen handgemacht. Wir haben uns für ein Teelichthalter entschieden. Uns wurde dann erklärt das seine Schwester die Sachen selber herstellt. Man bekommt diese Unikate also nur dort. Der Ausblick mit den riesigen Fenstern im Haupthaus ist eine schöne Kulisse, gerade beim Essen und wenn die Sonne untergeht.

Good location for exploring the area. The hotel itself isn't the best. Furniture is dated, our shower was broken, we heard the neighbors clearly... The room was dirty and dusty with even some trush peaking from under the bed. The bed was comfy and the room was warm and dry. Breakfast was okay, not much choice but you won't stay hungry. The young man at the reception was super nice. All in all, we would not book this hotel again.

This was our second time staying here, previous to this was in 2015. Located in a beautifully situated area, the owners have expanded the cabins with lofts and made some other beautiful upgrades, including in-floor heating. The young gentleman at the front was extremely kind and helpful, as well as the other gentleman who put together an amazing breakfast spread. We didn't get the opportunity to thank him for it, but hopefully he will see this review! Thank-you, Hotel A...we will be back again.

Thought dinner was available but not so. Description was there was a nice bar, not so.. could get a beer but not really a bar. Very minimalist. Quiet and comfy , but not as described.

Room was nice. Good size. Hot water. Loft had a low ceiling, and the front door lock was a little frustrating. It auto locks, door is heavy, and the key chain is huge. Breakfast was typical for the other places we stayed around the region A bit hard to find in the dark. No real signage that we saw and it is 2 separate buildings that could be mistaken as a residence. Didn't spend a lot of time but we were hoping for more of a lounge / social area. Hoped for couches around a fire to curl up and read or have a drink but the fire wasn't lit, area closed at 10, and it was in the dining area. All in all it was a nice stay.

We arrived in a rainy cold night at this place. The room is clean and linens looks good as well. There are in-floor heating, so really nice on the feet. However, there is no temp control in thre room, so we got too hot during the night. The sound insulation is not good though. We can clearly hear the next door baby cry and toddler buncing around. Btw, the room has a cool loft with a small skylight, with 2 couch on there, I guess it's for watching northern light, but we didn't have the luxlck to see it. The glass door entrance would also be a nice touch to stay warm insidde and watching northern light, if there is any. The nice fire in the lounge was not on, which was a bit disappointing. One of the reason I choose this hotel is for that nice fire...

This hotel was just as expected - basic, good location, clean and convenient. Bed was comfortable. I just wish our room had a television. As there is no real entertainment in this area other than drinking (which my wife and I don’t do much), a television would have been nice company until bedtime

We stayed a night in the little cabins here and it was super cute. The room was nice and big and my kids loved sleeping in the loft! The breakfast was decent. The only thing is my kids found a pair of dirty underwear under one of the beds. Otherwise, very nice. I would visit again.

The hotel had cute rooms with lofts where there was a twin bed. The property had been renovated and felt quite new and updated. The shower was large and comfortable. Plenty of plugs for charging. Our biggest issue was the midges. The hotel is near water, and if there’s no breeze the property is covered with biting midges in the summer. We had all of our doors and windows closed, and we still had them in the room with us. We left literally covered from head to toe with midge bites, which took 3 days to stop itching. There was not enough information given, warning about what the bugs do, or preventative measures taken by the hotel to ensure our room was midge free. The recommendation was “keep doors and windows shut,” which we did. So the midges must have gotten in when other people were entering and exiting. I hope the hotel invests in some fans for every room to help summer guests not have to suffer this fate.

Walls were dirty. There was a blob of something right by the head of the bed. This same wall also had crayon marks. Bathroom had no hand soap in dispenser. Also, the room had one roll of toilet paper for three women.

The property is pretty far from the main road, but we were glad that not far from it is a very scenic spot of Hraunfossar and Barnfoss. The room is nice, with an attic level for sofas and a table with skylight.

The room was great, bed and en-suite downstairs, a sitting area upstairs, admittedly it's easy to bump your head on the ceiling going upstairs. When we arrived we were asked if we wanted to book a table for dinner, unfortunately we had already eaten as the menu, whilst limited, looked good. The breakfast was more than adequate, and better than some more expensive hotels, however I would have appreciated more fruit.

One of my favorite top 3 accommodations weve had in Iceland. . Peaceful, clean and the dinner was fabulous. Dog Loki greets you which is the best part. Wifi worked fine for work. No tv which is not what we needed anyway. Enjoyed our stay and highly recommend.

This family owned hotel is an absolute gem. The rooms are modern and clean. It’s an amazing location overlooking a valley and 10 minutes from Hussafell. We actually cancelled on arrival because although the website offers dinner on arrival we were told it was unavailable, after driving all day and having poor eyesight for travelling at night we did not fell up to wanting to look for somethiong to eat miles away. Decide to cancel, we were not refunded not even 1 night of the two even though the manager was agreeable.

We stayed here for 1 night. We reached a bit after dark and it was our first night in Iceland. The guy at the reception did not understand much English. It was very dark as there is no light pollution. It would have been helpful if he had come with us to show the room, as we had to cross a little bridge after parking our car and we were fumbling in the dark. It is not far from the parking, or the main building, but he just gave us the keys and pointed outside, rather than just take the 5 min walk and show us the room. The breakfast was adequate and the view was good from the breakfast cafe. We did not see the northern lights that night, but the place can be great to see the northern lights. The cafe has microwave, and it is possible that they let you warm your own food there. The room had the coffee maker only.

We had a very nice stay overall. We arrived close to the cutoff checkin time of 11:00 pm and had called in advance that we might be late. The owner was very understanding and accommodating. One issue we had was when we tried to use the hot water in the room after we checked in, it wasn’t working both for the sink and the shower. We called the front desk about it and they said that we would have to wait until the next morning as the tank was out of hot water. Other than that, the room was clean. We had the room with the loft as there were 3 of us. The free breakfast included was a nice treat.

The property is pretty far from the main road, but we were glad that not far from it is a very scenic spot of Hraunfossar and Barnfoss. The room is nice, with an attic level for sofas and a table with skylight.

We only stayed here one night, but the family that runs this hotel seems lovely. The description says Dinner and Bar, but there was no dinner when we got there (we arrived at 8, maybe too late?). We didn’t need dinner, but want to make others aware. There are other restaurants and food trucks around the area. We did grab a couple of beers from the cooler to enjoy in our room. Close to 2 beautiful waterfalls! Gorgeous view. Very spacious room (with a separate little room for our daughter). Breakfast was great!

Very nice family run business overlooking the Reykhold valley and river. Good choice for a stopping point after a day trip from Reykjavik and Snaefellsnes peninsula. Be careful . GPS with Google will take you down a gravel road instead of the main highway to get there.

Room was nice. Good size. Hot water. Loft had a low ceiling, and the front door lock was a little frustrating. It auto locks, door is heavy, and the key chain is huge. Breakfast was typical for the other places we stayed around the region A bit hard to find in the dark. No real signage that we saw and it is 2 separate buildings that could be mistaken as a residence. Didn't spend a lot of time but we were hoping for more of a lounge / social area. Hoped for couches around a fire to curl up and read or have a drink but the fire wasn't lit, area closed at 10, and it was in the dining area. All in all it was a nice stay.

Secteur isolé et le restaurant le plus proche se trouve à 15-20 minutes en voiture, donc si vous arrivez en soirée il vaut mieux prévoir de dîner avant.

The location of the property is fairly remote from any of the larger towns but it is surrounded by beautiful scenery. Make sure you take the 3 minute drive to the spectacular Hraunfossar. You won't be disapointed. The host is friendly and welcoming and the breakfast is nice.

Booked this hotel thinking it was in the town of borgarnes. Reception worked with us and helped us cancel second night. Hotel was fine just wasn’t in the location I expected. Being out in a rural area was able to see the northern lights which was a huge bonus.

Really lovely setting with wonderful staff. Breakfast was great. Had to head out for dinner but not much of a drive to get to Hraunfossar which has a nice restaurant near the parking lot.

The room was great, bed and en-suite downstairs, a sitting area upstairs, admittedly it's easy to bump your head on the ceiling going upstairs. When we arrived we were asked if we wanted to book a table for dinner, unfortunately we had already eaten as the menu, whilst limited, looked good. The breakfast was more than adequate, and better than some more expensive hotels, however I would have appreciated more fruit.

Perfect stop for a quick stay in the area. Views from the dining area are beautiful. The breakfast buffet (included!) was just right to start the day. The rooms are pretty basic but are set up for Northern Lights viewing.

Hotel A så super indbydende og hyggeligt ud på opslaget. Da vi kom frem var hovedhuset og receptionen helt mørklagt og så næsten forladt ud. Vi fik vores nøgle og kom til at værelse der var så varmt at det næsten ikke var til at holde ud. Til gengæld var der ikke noget varmt vand til et bad. Der var ikke en behagelig stol at sidde i, kun seng eller en spisebordsstol. Som sagt var receptionen/restauranten ikke en mulighed da det var helt mørklagt. Beliggenheden var fantastisk og morgenmaden var ok. Ikke ‘hotel-morgenmad’ men fin nok til prisen.

What a lovely place! We had three of us stay in a room with a loft. The ceiling is a bit low on the stairs (watch your head) but the room was great! The room had kettle and some coffee packs. Breakfast was included and was delicious. Coffee good as well. Would definitely recommend this hotel to travellers. On the way out front desk staff helped us out with mapping out a few things to see and some good recommendations.
