We got stuck in the elevator on our way to our room. It just completely stopped moving. We tried calling the front desk and they put us on hold! I even told them “please don’t put me on hold, I’m stuck in your elevator!” And they still put me on hold. There is a customer service number on the key card you can text. We texted in from the elevator saying we were stuck and they NEVER responded. After a while the elevator reset and let us off on the wrong floor. When we got off there was a housekeeper standing there and she told us “elevator no food.” You’d think if it’s no good, there would be a sign or something! We just didn’t use it again. The room was nice, the hotel was nice, we felt like everything was clean. I will say there were a lot of outlets in the room which is really nice. It was just the elevator that really soured our experience!

Front desk staff were all absolutely lovely, nice sized-room, comfortable beds, very pet-friendly(no pet fee!), large parking lot, conveniently located off the freeway. Highly recommend.

Looked like this hotel had recently been updated. I was in the area to attend the Cubs v Tigers baseball game. I was about 10 miles from the stadium, which was easily less than 20 minutes to get there, so perfect for me. Plentiful free parking. Area was nice enough, grocery store, gas station nearby. Also, only about 30 minutes to the airport. I would recommend and would stay again.

First and foremost we booked this hotel with the hopes of taking my two year old swimming as he loves the water and was stuck at ford field for 10 hours to watch his brother wrestle pool was in construction or something. The man working the front desk was kinda rude and very unapproachable. And then the next day after check in my husband gets stuck in the elevator with another man and had to pry the doors open even though they were pushing the emergency call button and alarm button over and over with no one coming to help. When my husband went to inform the man at the front desk his response was “yeah maintenance is working on it” what kind of professional person would respond in that way and not even apologize for the inconvenience or make sure everyone was okay and got out safe with no injury. Needless to say I will NOT ever stay at this hotel again and would not recommend it in anyway

Unless you absolutely have to stay there, don’t. The pool not working was first red flag, followed by rude customer service at check-in, closing with no working elevator in the facility. I was on the third floor and I have a non-visible disability. It was Memorial Day weekend, I was traveling with a child and support animal, my options were limited. Keep scrolling for a better place if you can.

We were greeted with wait for no apparent reason, then despite having booking under one name, all of the IDs from different family members were asked to be presented (very odd). Rae was able to give all 3 rooms on same floor. Furniture seemed worn or of cheap quality. Bedding was really neat and comfortable. Breakfast had only frozen boiled eggs and not many options. Bread, butter and cream cheese. Better to spend money on Dunkin than relying for breakfast here. Pool was under construction so had no access. Soda machine was all empty ‘sold out’. Fitness center or Gym was in okay condition.

I usually pick this property whenever I come into town. It’s always been a great experience and the front desk staff are always so helpful. The rooms are clean and comfy.

It is located right by a train track which was right outside our window. The area we were in was not a safe area. Our room was gross there was tissues toys and wrappers on the floor. You couldn’t even open the bathroom door all the way because the bed got in the way. There was boogers on the walls. Hotel smelled like weed even from the staff who were obviously high. When we went down for breakfast when there was still an hour left, there was no food!!!

Easy things to remedy. Otherwise, the room was fine. The train blowing its horn outside the window at 3 AM is out of their control but is nonetheless sure to wake up all guests.

I personally won't stary there again. Train goes right by your room window. Had to ask for coffee and food for breakfast at 7am. Our friend's room had a centipede in their tub. No hair dryer or coffee cups in our room. Staff were friendly and helpful and our room had an upgraded shower, unlike our friend's room. Rooms are small and upgrades are done cheap and poorly done. There are better hotels in the area. Choosing a different one next time.

As soon as you walk in there’s a smell of humidity in the hotel and the room. It didn’t feel clean, but there wasn’t anything visibly dirty in the room only in the hallways with stains on the carpet and bags of trash. Breakfast was okay, but there was only carbs and only one source of protein (hard boiled eggs). The front desk people weren’t really friendly and never greeted us. We lost our key around 11pm once and it took the front desk lady more than 40 minutes to help us. Overall not the best, but it’s a cheaper option.

I am not sure how would someone rate this property 8/10 because we booked this hotel based off that rating on Experian. In reality - customer service was average at best, check in process took more than 30 minutes, when it shouldn’t be more than few minutes as the booking was already done and paid for through Experian. Room - Room door was not closed all the way even after closing. It was misaligned and almost an inch gap was at the bottom of the door. You can see outside CLEARLY through it and we felt really unsafe being there. Moved the room table to the front of the door as a barrier. Bathroom sink was the most disgusting we have ever seen. Water was not draining at all! And felt really disgusting after using it. One of the employees mentioned that “they’re in desperate need of maintenance but owner of the hotel wouldn’t hire one”, and it clearly showed in the condition the room was. For the price and the area there were other options to choose from and of course we won’t be staying here ever again. This is an unbiased review of our stay there.

The Leo was a great stay but overall an average hotel. Yes, the jacuzzi tubs are a plus but my 4 star ratings come from the sheets being stained on arrival. When I asked for a new set of sheets, we ended up getting more stained sheets. The shower hose was also loose, which my boyfriend ended up fixing on his own. I also was surprised their pool was under construction but it was not said online. The wifi did not work for us unfortunately & the hotel breakfast was mediocre, no breakfast meet or eggs. Besides these minor things, I would come back to the Leo as it was a convenient place to stay with the highway being super close. I also enjoyed how spacious the hotel room was. The staff greeted us every time we walked by the front desk which was nice.

It’s a good value. Clean and the staff is nice. The only thing I can’t stand is the room doors, at least on the third floor, aren’t the right size for their frames. Why is this an issue? When you’re trying to sleep, the bright light from the hallway seeps into the room. We put the couch pillows in front of the crack to block it out. Also, it would be nice if they had blackout curtains. Other than those cosmetic things, the rooms are comfortable and the location is convenient if you’re heading downtown for concerts or sporting events.
It’s a good value. Clean and the staff is nice. The only thing I can’t stand is the room doors, at least on the third floor, aren’t the right size for their frames. Why is this an issue? When you’re trying to sleep, the bright light from the hallway seeps into the room. We put the couch pillows in front of the crack to block it out. Also, it would be nice if they had blackout curtains. Other than those cosmetic things, the rooms are comfortable and the location is convenient if you’re heading downtown for concerts or sporting events.

There were multiple issues with our stay. First we got there late, and went to dinner which there is nothing that is decent in the area to eat, but when we got back tried to watch TV and it wouldn't get any channels. Tried to call the front desk on their phone, that didn't work. So basically just went to bed. Beds are hard as a rock. Turned the air down to 62 in the room. It might have turned on once an hour and if lucky was 75 in the room. Then the second night we stayed there lets just say from 330am-5am there was a party outside our door, and we could hear every word. Very thin walls. The people that were partying were kicked out which might have been the wrong time at 5am because they were starting to be quiet and then it all started back up. Also, the looks of the property in the picture are nice, but it is more like lipstick on a pig.

Room we stayed in had cricketts coming in becase no door sweep on bottom of door. And door did not lock properly, had to be open a bit for lock to engage, so we got hallway noise.

Nothing in room to tell TV Channels, no breakfast time. In most hotels breakfast goes till 10 on weekends. Took granddaughter to get breakfast 9:10. They were cleaning up. There was milk and cold cereal out so I processed to get her a bowl. I thought lady was goi g ripe bowl out of my hand. She said I said breakfast was over. I took bowl of cereal to room with us. Just wish the lady had been nicer. I just wanted to feed grand baby.

First and foremost we booked this hotel with the hopes of taking my two year old swimming as he loves the water and was stuck at ford field for 10 hours to watch his brother wrestle pool was in construction or something. The man working the front desk was kinda rude and very unapproachable. And then the next day after check in my husband gets stuck in the elevator with another man and had to pry the doors open even though they were pushing the emergency call button and alarm button over and over with no one coming to help. When my husband went to inform the man at the front desk his response was “yeah maintenance is working on it” what kind of professional person would respond in that way and not even apologize for the inconvenience or make sure everyone was okay and got out safe with no injury. Needless to say I will NOT ever stay at this hotel again and would not recommend it in anyway

Several friends were in Detroit for the Lions game and needed a place to stay. The Leo was reasonably priced and close to the hotel. Overall, the hotel was clean and serviced its purpose just fine. It is near the highway and was close to Ford Field (maybe a 10 minute drive). What most stuck out from this visit was the manager, Paula. I probably wouldn't have left a review if not for her; she made so many efforts to make sure we had a great trip and was kind, humorous, and very much an excellent representative of the city. Thank you, Paula! You will be remembered as a big part of our trip. The only thing better would have been if the Lions won. : (

This hotel is not only pet friendly but has no additonal pet charge. Which was a great plus as we were traveling w our small dog. When we checked in we were greeted by Justin who was extremely friendly and made check in a breeze. Our first room was right across from the busy pool and a little bit nosey. Being pregnant I already have a hard time sleeping so I asked Justin if there were any other open rooms. He moved us to a room in a different location and this room was quite! We were so happy and thankful for that. The room was a good size and had a large shower. The room and the hotel were clean. We were able to grab commentary brekfast and coffee in the lobby before check out. We were pleased w our stay and will be back on our next visit. Thank you Justin for helping make our stay great!

Location was perfect, was an 8 minute drive to the concert venue. Arrived at 6pm. Property was clean, well lit and we were met by a super friendly front desk staffer named Ray. Check-in was super easy/quick. Lobby was beautiful, clean, bright and very welcoming. Our room was on the second floor. Beds are AMAZING! Room was spotless! Love that the door has an alarm to let u know it’s opening or not closed enough. Great safety feature! Bathroom is huge! We had two queen size beds that felt like King sized. Train tracks outside our room but didn’t hear a thing. Will absolutely stay here again if we get back to Detroit!!! Best sleep I’ve had in a long time! FYI we slept in and didn’t partake in the continental breakfast so I cannot comment on that. Pool/sauna were not in service but that information was available on the website so we were fully aware of this. We didn’t have plans to use the pool/sauna since we’re just in town for a concert. Thanks for making this a great experience!! Also, price was perfect!!!!

I requested adjoining rooms because I have a small child and teenager and was told when I got there by the lady at the front desk then found out the following day by different front desk they were definitely available. The original lady was rude and condescending. Toilet over flowed in my room and was moved down the hall from my kids to a handicapped room.

Definitely don’t go for the breakfast buffet, you’ll be extremely disappointed. Staff was more concerned with texting on their phone than checking me in. Gave me no information about anything really. Barely let me know where the elevator was. Not that I wouldn’t be able to find it, the place is not large, but as a courtesy elevator, room number, and time for breakfast should’ve been included in the checkin process. There was a train track about 50 feet outside our room and a train did go by around 11-11:30 at night. There was also a birthday celebration where the party goers were up and down the halls from ~11-12:30 at night. I felt like I was a part of their party group, there is absolutely no sound barrier….anywhere! The bathroom lights were motion censor. If you were in the too long, you’d end up in the dark. Kind of inconvenient when we had a jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. The saving grace was the incredibly comfortable beds. Other than that, it was pretty meh.

Looked like this hotel had recently been updated. I was in the area to attend the Cubs v Tigers baseball game. I was about 10 miles from the stadium, which was easily less than 20 minutes to get there, so perfect for me. Plentiful free parking. Area was nice enough, grocery store, gas station nearby. Also, only about 30 minutes to the airport. I would recommend and would stay again.

Sam checked us in. He was very pleasant and friendly. Room was decent for the price. Beds were comfortable. The continental breakfast was good and convenient. We had a peddle pub planned downtown and didn’t want to spend $400 for an hotel room. Getting an Lyft was easy, and only about $25 each way. Our friends that drove downtown paid $50 for parking. The ride to downtown was about 15 minutes. Hotel is conveniently located right off 75. Overall it was a great experience.

The Leo was a great stay but overall an average hotel. Yes, the jacuzzi tubs are a plus but my 4 star ratings come from the sheets being stained on arrival. When I asked for a new set of sheets, we ended up getting more stained sheets. The shower hose was also loose, which my boyfriend ended up fixing on his own. I also was surprised their pool was under construction but it was not said online. The wifi did not work for us unfortunately & the hotel breakfast was mediocre, no breakfast meet or eggs. Besides these minor things, I would come back to the Leo as it was a convenient place to stay with the highway being super close. I also enjoyed how spacious the hotel room was. The staff greeted us every time we walked by the front desk which was nice.

I personally won't stary there again. Train goes right by your room window. Had to ask for coffee and food for breakfast at 7am. Our friend's room had a centipede in their tub. No hair dryer or coffee cups in our room. Staff were friendly and helpful and our room had an upgraded shower, unlike our friend's room. Rooms are small and upgrades are done cheap and poorly done. There are better hotels in the area. Choosing a different one next time.

We were greeted with wait for no apparent reason, then despite having booking under one name, all of the IDs from different family members were asked to be presented (very odd). Rae was able to give all 3 rooms on same floor. Furniture seemed worn or of cheap quality. Bedding was really neat and comfortable. Breakfast had only frozen boiled eggs and not many options. Bread, butter and cream cheese. Better to spend money on Dunkin than relying for breakfast here. Pool was under construction so had no access. Soda machine was all empty ‘sold out’. Fitness center or Gym was in okay condition.

We have stayed here 5 years in a row for an annual event, and after this year I won’t go back. We rented three rooms and all three were not the same quality for more money. We were told when I booked them that the pool and sauna were open.when we arrived the pool area had been closed for months, and no one alerted us, so we could change Hotels.they said they had continental breakfast form 7-9, when we arrived at 8:40, they had already shut down. One of our rooms looked as they had not cleaned the bathroom, hair everywhere, broken shower doors, our Tv did not work, and heater and fridge were very load in two of the rooms. When were spoke with the front desk, new were told that they are getting bought out by a new company. (and couldn’t do anything for us).don’t stay here if you have a family, and expect to use all there amenities listed on orbitz.

We were told when I booked them that the pool and sauna were open.when we arrived the pool area had been closed for months, and no one alerted us, so we could change Hotels.they said they had continental breakfast form 7-9, when we arrived at 8:40, they had already shut down. One of our rooms looked as they had not cleaned the bathroom, hair everywhere, broken shower doors, our Tv did not work, and heater and fridge were very load in two of the rooms. When were spoke with the front desk, new were told that they are getting bought out by a new company. (and couldn’t do anything for us).don’t stay here if you have a family, and expect to use all there amenities listed on orbitz.
