The staff were very friendly and helpful. We Loved our stay at the Mathis House Victorian Bed & Breakfast and Tea Room luncheon. Beautifully decorated. Loved all the food selections. both Tea & breakfast. Rooms were lovely and very comfortable. Had a cute shop also. We loved the selections of teas & bought some for home. Highly recommend staying here.

Lovely Bed and Breakfast Inn with Victorian charm. The rooms are on the second floor and the tea room is on the main level. Inn Keeper was accommodating to our schedule. We had a lovely breakfast each morning. Would highly recommend staying in this place.

This B&B was very nice with a comfortable setting as there are only 4 rooms available to rent. When we arrived at the B&B, there was a baby shower in the late afternoon and another shower on the following day. Check in was very informal with one of the assistants providing the needed information along with the room key (yes, an actual key). The breakfasts that were served were very good. One comment that we had was that we felt the owner of the B&B should have been a little more interactive in meeting the guests (i.e., asking the guests the five w's and one h). Also, the bedroom window had a moon shaped top to it that needed covering as there was an outside light that beamed into the window. A suggestion was conveyed to the owner.

Historic house filled with antiques. Coffee & tea , scones and muffins right outside our room along with a fridge with cold half & half and bottled water. Delicious cooked breakfast in a cozy and classy dining room. Friendly and knowledgeable staff members. A five minute ride to the NJ Transit bus station for a non stop ride to NYC.

Great location. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Great property if you like tea parties and other events. The description for our room indicated it was perfect for a romantic getaway. While the room was in the back of the house, we didn’t feel that it was very private or romantic. In closing it was a cute and authentic vintage home.

Wonderful place to stay charming has all of the charm of a turn of the century home. The teahouse is adorable.. service was great breakfast was fabulous and everybody was friendly a wonderful place to go for dinner or high tea or stay and enjoy the ambience.

Amazing staff, beautiful place, comfortable beds, clean place and the food/service was also fantastic. Highly recommend and what Vicki has done with this place. Old time feel, creaky floors, sends you back in time.

I can't say enough about our stay. The Mathis house is beautiful. The staff is welcoming, friendly and accomodating. Rooms were well appointed,clean and comfortable. It is a 5 star experience. Breakfast was amazing!

The house keeper is very friendly and the service was great. If you like vintage things, this is definitely a classy place you should visit and you will find a lot of small little interesting items. The place was upkeep neatly and clean. The breakfast was served hot individually and was delicious.

It was our first time at a B&B and it was better than we could ever have imagined. The people were very nice. The amenities were great, especially the little desserts and face towels. Breakfast was spectacular and the room had everything a hotel would have and more. Can't wait to stay again!

We had a lovely stay at the Bed and Breakfast. We stayed in the Queen Alexa room and it was very large and comfortable. The bed was super comfortable and the linens were beautiful. The bathroom has a gigantic tub and a wonderful multi head shower. The Inn itself is beautiful and has many original historic details.

I like the the decorations in the room and the breakfast they served was awesome!! But wifi was terrible on the second floor it need a second router extension. The staff were super nice the kind!

The staff was very nice and greeted me right away, helped me with my bags and made sure I was set. I had a private Christmas tree in my room and plenty of holiday touches. I was looking to get a room unlike all the other boring rooms I've stayed in this year and Mathis House did not disappoint.

Luxurious beds in spacious rooms with stunning decor throughout the hotel. It was such a unique experience. But the best part was the staff - so friendly, professional, and attentive. I can’t say enough good things. You MUST stay here. )))

Honestly, everything about the Mathis House is wonderful. The home is magnificent and well maintained, keeping its original Victorian beauty both inside and outside. My room was super comfortable and charming. The best part about my stay was engaging with the host, Vicki. Vicki went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable and welcome. The breakfast in the morning was hot and delicious, and I really enjoyed eating in the tea room which is decorated in old world charm. I will definitely be back. Oh, and those scones!!! Super delicious! Thank you. for a wonderful stay.

The staff was very nice and greeted me right away, helped me with my bags and made sure I was set. I had a private Christmas tree in my room and plenty of holiday touches. I was looking to get a room unlike all the other boring rooms I've stayed in this year and Mathis House did not disappoint.

Historic house filled with antiques. Coffee & tea , scones and muffins right outside our room along with a fridge with cold half & half and bottled water. Delicious cooked breakfast in a cozy and classy dining room. Friendly and knowledgeable staff members. A five minute ride to the NJ Transit bus station for a non stop ride to NYC.

This place is a one of a kind experience that should not be missed. Between the architecture, the decorations, the location and especially the people that are there it is a destination that you will remember for a very long time. Close to the Jersey shore.

My husband and I had the best time at Mathis House. It is the most charming B&B we have ever stayed at. Tea time is a must and the breakfast was delicious! We appreciate the attention to details and everything was so clean.

We had a fantastic stay at Mathis House. It is a beautiful bed and Breakfast with amazingly decorated rooms, old charm and comfort that can’t be beat. The Breakfast was so delicious and the staff so friendly. Can’t even describe how delicious the scones were. Out of this world!

It was an incredibly hot day but when I went into my room it was so cool and lovely Comfy bed and lovely shower Snacks put out just for me : wine cheese spread and crackers cookies strawberries and coffee In the morning breakfast was beyond perfection Homemade scones and clotted cream and the best creamy frittata I ever had I’m coming back even if I don’t have something to do in the shore area The owner and staff love what they do And it shows

Loved the Mathis House! Great little place to stay…. Comfortable room with tons of amenities…. And the staff go above and beyond to make your stay memorable! Breakfast was yummy and the teas are exceptional as well! I really highly recommend the Mathis House !!

Wonderful place to stay charming has all of the charm of a turn of the century home. The teahouse is adorable.. service was great breakfast was fabulous and everybody was friendly a wonderful place to go for dinner or high tea or stay and enjoy the ambience.

Absolutely beautiful Bed and Breakfast in a great location in Tom's River. The room was really unique and had a lot of charm. I would say the shower was the only downside of my stay. The free coffee, water and baked goods were a welcome surprise. I would stay again!
