Wir waren insgesamt 9 Nächte im El Castillo, da ein anderes Hotel aufgrund einer weggeschwemmten Strasse nicht mehr erreichbar war und wir entsprechen länger Gäste waren. Zum Glück bekamen wir ein Upgrade in das Zimmer 1 (insgesamt gibt es 9 Zimmer) durch den Manager Stephen, da dass Hotel auch nicht sehr voll war. Der Empfang und auch der tägliche Service (insbesondere durch Roxana) waren sehr nett und unaufdringlich. Wir haben 1 Mal hier gegessen, was auch sehr gut war, allerdings zu teuer. Das Frühstück ist leider auf 3 Varianten begrenzt und hier hätten wir uns gerne weiter Auswahlmöglichkeiten oder Variationen gewünscht. Die Cocktails sind alle sehr hochwertig und lecker und der Zimmerservice ist auch ohne Mangel. Das Internet ist OK, wenn auch nicht super zuverlässig und man muss wissen, dass es keine TVs in den Zimmern oder Suiten gibt, auf denen ggf. gestreamt werden könnte. Die Zufahrt ist steil aber da haben wir noch extremere Fälle in Costa Rica erlebt. Im Umkreis von 10 Km gibt es viele nette Restaurants und auch Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Vielen Dank and das Team, dass uns sooooo lange "aushalten" musste.

The property was spectacular with gorgeous views. The parking was not sufficient and I was asked twice to move my vehicle. I detected sewage smell in the night and that was a big turnoff. It was noisy with a big group visiting when we stayed. I expected more for the price. The staff were outstanding.

This hotel was beautiful, the room was large with a lovely king size 4 poster bed. We had a great view of the sunset every night from our patio or from the spectacular infiniti pool. We also enjoyed dinner at the hotel one night and the food was very good. The included breakfast was prepared fresh to order. The staff were friendly and provided excellent service. I wish we would have stayed longer!

It is a beautiful hotel. Large room with everything functional. The lobby is nice with a beautiful pool. Incredible views both from lobby and room. But the thing that made this hotel stand out was the amazing service. I had a couple of issues because I biked there and the staff did everything they could to help me. Also, I ate at the restaurant and the food was made exactly as I asked and tasted great. Breakfast was very good. You will not be disappointed.

I can't say enough nice things about our stay here It's a beautiful, adults only hotel It feels like you're staying at a friends house if your friend has a beautiful mansion The staff however were what made the stay so great We loved Roxy, Jose, and Francisco We would stay again just to have them taking care of us Great food that seemed pricy until you go out to eat then we found it was actually the best choice to eat there Great breakfast included Beautiful pool with beautiful views Also a great place to see whales and wildlife

This hotel is charming and lovely with 5 star rooms and dining. The bar had amazing drinks and it would be a very expensive hotel if it wasn’t directly on the highway. The views of the ocean are breathtaking but it’s literally on top of the highway so you hear and smell trucks and ambulances.

Gorgeous view with the friendliest staff! We had a perfect stay here. It was so quiet, so relaxing. The pool & view are spectacular . Honestly, the staff was so kind & helpful. We had both dinner and breakfast here which were both delicious! Highly recommend!

The staff and facility were both fantastic. They exceeded all of are needs and desires. From our greeting when we arrived to our farewell actually out front. Both Francisco and Michelle came out to bid us a farewell. Francisco even assisted us in the parking which was somewhat tight spaces. Also we really enjoyed the food.both dinner and breakfast were delicious and attractively prepared. It was just a wonderful experience for our group of four

The staff was so sweet and accommodating. The property was pristine along with the pool. Food was amazing every meal. Wildlife is very active (monkeys, birds, geckos, iguanas, scarlet macaws, butterfly’s, frogs etc). I always felt safe on the property and would recommend the largest suit to anyone who wants more privacy and quiet since the other rooms you can hear everything within the hotel. There are 3 beautiful beaches between 5-12min driving distance from the hotel. The staff recommends Playa Ventanas but I would recommend Playa Piñuelas apart of the Marino Bellena National Park. Very quiet beach that’s easier to swim or body board at.

Wow what a place! It was marvellous from start to finish! The views spectacular! The staff are wonderful, we were served by Jose, Francisco and Roxy, they couldn’t have done anymore to make us feel special. The food was amazing each night, the attention to details from the chef is second to none. The rooms were cleaned meticulously too. I can’t recommend El Castillo enough. A truly magical slice of heaven!

Was für ein traumhaft schönes Hotel! Das Personal, im speziellen Francisco und Roxanne, sind auf einem top Niveau. Sehr freundlich, immer um die Gäste bemüht und absolut kompetent. Die Suite ist komfortabel eingerichtet, dezent dekoriert und sehr sauber. Wir waren zum zweiten Mal im El Castillo und würden es immer empfehlen. Für die nächste Costa Rica Reise ist ein weiterer Aufenthalt bereits vorgesehen.
Was für ein traumhaft schönes Hotel! Das Personal, im speziellen Francisco und Roxanne, sind auf einem top Niveau. Sehr freundlich, immer um die Gäste bemüht und absolut kompetent. We had an amazing stay. The hotel didn't have our reservation when we arrived but they took care of us and found a room without question. The property is stunning with lush landscaping and a beautiful infinity pool. Our room we super clean and extremely comfortable.

View is insane. Stunning. Short drive up a long road which is unusual for Costa Rica. Beautiful lobby and rooms. Well appointed rooms with everything you need. The staff are rockstars. They do it all. English and Spanish spoken by all. Franciso, Michele and Roxanne are an asset to the hotel. They understand service with a smile and learn preferences quickly. Right next to Ojachal and minutes away from Uvita. You won't want to leave.

Rooms are of variable quality and appearance, ranging from quite basic to cosy and good looking. The staff is very friendly. The restaurant is good. The place is quiet and very enjoyable

The staff was so sweet and accommodating. The property was pristine along with the pool. Food was amazing every meal. Wildlife is very active (monkeys, birds, geckos, iguanas, scarlet macaws, butterfly’s, frogs etc). I always felt safe on the property and would recommend the largest suit to anyone who wants more privacy and quiet since the other rooms you can hear everything within the hotel. There are 3 beautiful beaches between 5-12min driving distance from the hotel. The staff recommends Playa Ventanas but I would recommend Playa Piñuelas apart of the Marino Bellena National Park. Very quiet beach that’s easier to swim or body board at.

This hotel was beautiful, the room was large with a lovely king size 4 poster bed. We had a great view of the sunset every night from our patio or from the spectacular infiniti pool. We also enjoyed dinner at the hotel one night and the food was very good. The included breakfast was prepared fresh to order. The staff were friendly and provided excellent service. I wish we would have stayed longer!

It is a beautiful hotel. Large room with everything functional. The lobby is nice with a beautiful pool. Incredible views both from lobby and room. But the thing that made this hotel stand out was the amazing service. I had a couple of issues because I biked there and the staff did everything they could to help me. Also, I ate at the restaurant and the food was made exactly as I asked and tasted great. Breakfast was very good. You will not be disappointed.

We LOVED this hotel. It's beautiful, has great food, check in was easy - but the service really made our stay great. They went above and beyond to take care of us, and the manager Rebeca was responsive (all hours!) to ensure this was the case. So highly recommended!

Wow what a place! It was marvellous from start to finish! The views spectacular! The staff are wonderful, we were served by Jose, Francisco and Roxy, they couldn’t have done anymore to make us feel special. The food was amazing each night, the attention to details from the chef is second to none. The rooms were cleaned meticulously too. I can’t recommend El Castillo enough. A truly magical slice of heaven!

I can't say enough nice things about our stay here It's a beautiful, adults only hotel It feels like you're staying at a friends house if your friend has a beautiful mansion The staff however were what made the stay so great We loved Roxy, Jose, and Francisco We would stay again just to have them taking care of us Great food that seemed pricy until you go out to eat then we found it was actually the best choice to eat there Great breakfast included Beautiful pool with beautiful views Also a great place to see whales and wildlife

Was für ein traumhaft schönes Hotel! Das Personal, im speziellen Francisco und Roxanne, sind auf einem top Niveau. Sehr freundlich, immer um die Gäste bemüht und absolut kompetent. Die Suite ist komfortabel eingerichtet, dezent dekoriert und sehr sauber. Wir waren zum zweiten Mal im El Castillo und würden es immer empfehlen. Für die nächste Costa Rica Reise ist ein weiterer Aufenthalt bereits vorgesehen.

The staff and facility were both fantastic. They exceeded all of are needs and desires. From our greeting when we arrived to our farewell actually out front. Both Francisco and Michelle came out to bid us a farewell. Francisco even assisted us in the parking which was somewhat tight spaces. Also we really enjoyed the food.both dinner and breakfast were delicious and attractively prepared. It was just a wonderful experience for our group of four

We loved the uniqueness of El Castillo and how well taken care of we were during our stay. It was an enjoyable vacation, very relaxing and the food was delicious! The resort itself is quite beautiful. The infinity pool was gorgeous. Dining room was wonderful. The chef is outstanding. Absolutely outstanding. The room was gorgeous. We didn't rent a car however, and it was very inconvenient to get anywhere. You can't really go walking because the place itself is on a very high hill with very steep roads around it

This hotel is charming and lovely with 5 star rooms and dining. The bar had amazing drinks and it would be a very expensive hotel if it wasn’t directly on the highway. The views of the ocean are breathtaking but it’s literally on top of the highway so you hear and smell trucks and ambulances.

Wir waren insgesamt 9 Nächte im El Castillo, da ein anderes Hotel aufgrund einer weggeschwemmten Strasse nicht mehr erreichbar war und wir entsprechen länger Gäste waren. Zum Glück bekamen wir ein Upgrade in das Zimmer 1 (insgesamt gibt es 9 Zimmer) durch den Manager Stephen, da dass Hotel auch nicht sehr voll war. Der Empfang und auch der tägliche Service (insbesondere durch Roxana) waren sehr nett und unaufdringlich. Wir haben 1 Mal hier gegessen, was auch sehr gut war, allerdings zu teuer. Das Frühstück ist leider auf 3 Varianten begrenzt und hier hätten wir uns gerne weiter Auswahlmöglichkeiten oder Variationen gewünscht. Die Cocktails sind alle sehr hochwertig und lecker und der Zimmerservice ist auch ohne Mangel. Das Internet ist OK, wenn auch nicht super zuverlässig und man muss wissen, dass es keine TVs in den Zimmern oder Suiten gibt, auf denen ggf. gestreamt werden könnte. Die Zufahrt ist steil aber da haben wir noch extremere Fälle in Costa Rica erlebt. Im Umkreis von 10 Km gibt es viele nette Restaurants und auch Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Vielen Dank and das Team, dass uns sooooo lange "aushalten" musste.

El lugar es hermoso, la tranquilidad, las instalaciones, la vista. La pasamos súper bien. Lo que sí me parece bastante excesivo son los precios de la comida. Lo que pagamos por la cena de 2 personas fue lo mismo que el costo de la noche. En San José ni en los lugares más exclusivos se paga tantísimo. Eso sí la comida estaba deliciosa, somos de visitar buenos lugares porque nos encanta comer bien, pero si considera que el precio está muy alto.
El lugar es hermoso, la tranquilidad, las instalaciones, la vista. La pasamos súper bien. Lo que sí me parece bastante excesivo son los precios de la comida. Lo que pagamos por la cena de 2 personas fue lo mismo que el costo de la noche. En San José ni en los lugares más exclusivos se paga tantísimo. Eso sí la comida estaba deliciosa, somos de visitar buenos lugares porque nos encanta comer bien, pero si considera que el precio está muy alto.

The staff are wonderful, we were served by Jose, Francisco and Roxy, they couldn’t have done anymore to make us feel special. The food was amazing each night, the attention to details from the chef is second to none. The rooms were cleaned meticulously too. I can’t recommend El Castillo enough. A truly magical slice of heaven!

The resort itself is quite beautiful. The infinity pool was gorgeous. Dining room was wonderful. The chef is outstanding. Absolutely outstanding. The room was gorgeous. We didn't rent a car however, and it was very inconvenient to get anywhere. You can't really go walking because the place itself is on a very high hill with very steep roads around it

I can't say enough nice things about our stay here It's a beautiful, adults only hotel It feels like you're staying at a friends house if your friend has a beautiful mansion The staff however were what made the stay so great We loved Roxy, Jose, and Francisco We would stay again just to have them taking care of us Great food that seemed pricy until you go out to eat then we found it was actually the best choice to eat there Great breakfast included Beautiful pool with beautiful views Also a great place to see whales and wildlife

The property has amazing views and the staff are engaged and friendly. Many are from the local area as the hotel has a policy of training them which is a great idea. It did make for some funny moments but it was never a problem. Rooms are big, clean and very comfortable. Food is some if the best we had in Costa Rica.

The staff and facility were both fantastic. They exceeded all of are needs and desires. From our greeting when we arrived to our farewell actually out front. Both Francisco and Michelle came out to bid us a farewell. Francisco even assisted us in the parking which was somewhat tight spaces. Also we really enjoyed the food.both dinner and breakfast were delicious and attractively prepared. It was just a wonderful experience for our group of four

Traumhafte Lage. Sehr schönes Boutique Hotel mit toller Suite. Das Frühstück war aufgrund der frischen Zubereitung und Auswahl top. Mit Blick auf Pool und Meer. Der Service ist sehr qualifiziert und geht auf den Gästewunsch ein. Die Special-Dinner die jeden Abend angeboten wurden waren sehr lecker und die Gerichte im allgemeinen von hoher Qualität. Bei der Anfahrt sollte man keinen Sportwagen fahren, sonst wird’s schwierig, aber die letzten 300m zum Hotel sind mit einem 4x4 locker zu realisieren. Wir würden das Hotel jederzeit wieder buchen. Es war ein komplett gelungener Aufenthalt.

We booked our stay for the last 4 days of a two week trip around Costa Rica and this was by the far the best hotel we stayed at. It genuinely is as amazing as it seems in the photos and in the reviews. We had a spacious room that overlooked the beach. We had a generous sized balcony and plenty of space in the room to relax in. The pool and dining area are just spectacular - everywhere you sit allows you to take in the even more spectacular views. The decor itself of the hotel is so chic and peaceful to be around. Our breakfast was always delicious and soo much effort goes into them. Same with the one dinner we did enjoy there. It felt like fine dining food! Lastly, the staff. They are just amazing. So friendly, helpful, welcoming and so full of knowledge of the wild life in the area too which was so interesting to listen to. The staff deserve so much praise. 10/10 from myself and my fiance!

Castillo hotel is a beautiful setting with lots of nature surrounding you from ocean views to mountain views. The rooms are comfortable and well done in a Spanish style. Our dinner there was delicious.
