The property is beautiful!! Clean and comfortable and a convenient location. I was surprised that the front desk is only open 9-5. We arrived later and were brought to our room, but had to inquire about things like where to get pool towels the next day. Also, while breakfast was available there weren't other easy food options on the property like water, coffee, vending machine or restaurant/bar.

Incredible! Waking up to the sounds of nature, watching squirrel monkeys frolicking in the trees while swinging in the hammock on the balcony with a view of the ocean. Walk to restaurants nearby or make your own using the stove, oven, microwave, blender. Enjoy free breakfast by the pool. Yolo is a 2 min walk away with pub games, pool table, live music and good pub fare. Wifi is great. No TV (you really don't miss it!, and if you do, head to Yolo where they have plenty for you to watch your sports). Security 24/7, great staff. You MUST go to happy hour every day, by the pool, where Ramido makes the best drinks. Buy his homemade hot sauce to take home with you!

Lovely self-contained apartments. Dennys and his team were very friendly, helpful and approachable. We had booked a superior villa, but on arrival we were informed that that room was not available due to essential maintenance, so were given two villas, which suited us and our adult daughter better, giving us all more space to relax. Each villa had a great balcony with comfortable seating and a hammock, great for chilling out at the end of the day. The villas have a great sea view with lovely well tended gardens. We are visited by capachins, squirrel monkeys, and there were even what felt like resident Scarlet Macaws, perching in a dead palm tree by the pool. Sadly no sloths, I guess because of the sound of the maintenance work ongoing (as we stayed before peak season). The pool was very clean and nice to have a gentle swim after a long day sightseeing. The breakfast was basic, but very tasty and prepared fresh for you each morning. We had a very relaxing stay, and would highly recommend Villas Nicolas. Thank you Dennys and team xx

Room was standard size and non-descript, and balcony was huge with view of the Pacific Ocean. However the hotel is right on the main road that runs through Manuel Antonio and can be quite noisy from the traffic. Also other apartments are close by so voices carry over long distances. But the pool side is very nice, an afternoon spent there if you have spare time would be worth it, though bear in mind the bar is cash-only.

Views are spectacular and private balcony great. Property and rooms are dated and need refurbishment. Breakfast ok but not great. Lots of notices telling you what you can’t do and what you will be charged extra for! Limited facilities. Pool area very pleasant

It felt like you are truly in the rainforest. We had monkeys play a few meters from us, beautiful parrots nearby. Amazing ocean views, friendly staff, highly recommended. A few nitpicks: queen size bed, no TV (but we didn’t miss it), and the hotel jacuzzi was not working (had no hot water). Overall well worth it. The location is great, and the villas are very stylishly decorated

Perfect location - plenty of restaurants (notably Emilio's, El Avion and Claro Que Si), bars and shops within very easy walking distance; you could also walk to the Manuel Antonio Park entrance and beaches if you wanted to (we had a rental car so chose to drive the short distance). Grounds and pool area are gorgeous and serene, with beautiful mature trees and flowering plants providing a sense of privacy. Pool area was very clean. The highlight of our upstairs room was the huge private saltillo tile patio with plenty of outdoor seating, a hammock, and wooden shutters. The sweeping view of the ocean at the bottom of the hill was spectacular. Monkeys ran over the patio railings and played in the trees every day and were literally close enough to touch. There were also a pair of scarlet macaws nesting in a nearby tree that we could watch from the patio. Reception and service were great. Daily cooked-to-order breakfast was included. No issues with overcrowding at the parking lot or pool. As for activities, we took a guided tour of Manuel Antonio and then swam at the stunning beach inside the park until closing time. We also drove to Marino Ballena National Park (the "whale tail" natural formation where you can see humpback whales in season) and took a sunset snorkel cruise from Marina Pez Vela in Quepos. Overall, this is a beautiful, relaxing and friendly place that we would definitely visit again.

We had a great stay here overall, they upgraded our room and we had a beautiful view of the ocean beside the jungle filled with animals, the patio with a hammock was a highlight. There are many gaps in the door so bugs were easily able to enter the room which wasnt the greatest! Overall would recommend if you can handle bugs/wildlife!

Beautiful and relaxing hotel. Our room was very nice, clean, comfortable, with a balcony and amazing view of the ocean. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast option was great, you get to eat by the garden next to the pool. We even got to see many wildlife animals here. Would definitely come back!!

One of the nicest places we have ever stayed. Pool is incrdible. Space is well kept and the view of the ocean from our balcony was great. There's also a lot of wildlife nearby....more than what we saw in the park. We were also given great recommendations for restaurants nearby.

Very nice villas, we got the king bed with ocean view. The room was very clean, large balcony with hamac, kitchenette if you want to cook, and living room area. It took about 35 min to walk down to the beach, but you can also take the bus or Uber if you prefer. Area is not very walkable, there's not always a sidewalk, but if you're careful for cars it was fine to walk around to go to the beach or restaurants

Our room at Villas Nicolas was well appointed, comfortable, and the view from the deck was truly spectacular. We saw toucans, monkeys and macaws all from our deck. Everything on the grounds was beautiful, clean and well maintained. The staff were all friendly and helpful, but the property operates more like a B&B than a full service hotel. Breakfasts in the pool garden were quiet and relaxing, but the selection was pretty limited. Overall a great stay, and we would definitely recommend.

Absolutely gorgeous property. Our room was most luxurious. Private balcony overlooking the ocean, huge king size bed, full kitchen. Very pretty garden-like setting. Nice breakfast. Close to the beach and to the Manuel Antonio park entrance. Highly recommended!

There simply are no words to explain how absolutely wonderful of a place Villas Nicolás is. Dennis and the other staff members are so accommodating. We stayed in a lovely unit with a balcony. There were toucans, monkeys and so many birds we could enjoy from our balcony. Great kitchen area for cooking. The pool was heaven. If there were more and 5 stars available for a rating I would give it to Villas Nicolás.

We loved staying here. We were welcomed by Monkeys on our porch on the first morning. But they moved on and we didn't see them the next two days. We stayed in room 8 which was a small room but had a fabulous veranda. It was also the highest up. it had a great ocean view and was very private! I would stay here again if I ever came back to the area.

This property is enchanting and with incredible views of the ocean. You feel like you are I. The jungle too! The villas are lovely and decorated very well. There is noise from the street and restaurants that are close by and convenient, but it is not too much of an issue. One word of caution! Make sure you are able to stay on the days you pay for as there are No Refunds!!!

The highlight of our upstairs room was the huge private saltillo tile patio with plenty of outdoor seating, a hammock, and wooden shutters. The sweeping view of the ocean at the bottom of the hill was spectacular. Monkeys ran over the patio railings and played in the trees every day and were literally close enough to touch. There were also a pair of scarlet macaws nesting in a nearby tree that we could watch from the patio. Reception and service were great. Daily cooked-to-order breakfast was included. No issues with overcrowding at the parking lot or pool. As for activities, we took a guided tour of Manuel Antonio and then swam at the stunning beach inside the park until closing time. We also drove to Marino Ballena National Park (the "whale tail" natural formation where you can see humpback whales in season) and took a sunset snorkel cruise from Marina Pez Vela in Quepos. Overall, this is a beautiful, relaxing and friendly place that we would definitely visit again.

The property is beautiful!! Clean and comfortable and a convenient location. I was surprised that the front desk is only open 9-5. We arrived later and were brought to our room, but had to inquire about things like where to get pool towels the next day. Also, while breakfast was available there weren't other easy food options on the property like water, coffee, vending machine or restaurant/bar.

The property is absolutely gorgeous. You are right in the middle of nature enabling you to see beautiful toucans, macaws, butterflies, and monkeys. Dennis was so helpful and kind. The property is well kept, bright, and welcoming. It is more than I expected. A wonderful stay. ❤️

I stayed at Villas Nicolás in Manuel Antonio for four nights and had a great experience. I really appreciated the warm and attentive service from Dennis, the hotel manager, and Paola at the front desk. The woman who works the breakfast service and the man who cooks were also incredibly kind and welcoming — everyone made my stay feel special. The location is fantastic: just a short drive to the beach with plenty of good restaurants nearby. My balcony had beautiful views, and I loved seeing monkeys and macaws visit every morning. The hotel itself could benefit from a renovation, but overall it was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was tasty, and I genuinely enjoyed my time here. I would definitely consider staying again.

The property was nice and clean and staff were very friendly. Both receptions were very friendly and helpful specially Dennis who is a very warm and nice receptionist and helped us a lot for our local needs and questions. Miss Sheryl Livingston, the manager was also super kind and helpful in giving us any info we needed about the properties and the local affairs of the resort. We will recommend your place to any friend or family member who want to visit Costa Rica. Keep up the good work and thank you again.

Gorgeous location.. the staff was great, friendly and efficient. They booked transportation from the airport which worked out perfectly and provided great recommendations for activities. Breakfast each day was very tasty and Dennys was very helpful. Hope to return some day!

We had a wonderful stay at this villa. The location was perfect, just steps from public transportation and close to great eating spots. We even spotted monkeys and sloths right from our balcony! The villa was clean with a cozy rainforest feel and breakfast was delicious each morning. Denis, the property manager was incredibly friendly and helpful. I would like to say the staff was amazing! The second we arrived Dennis got us all checked in and even allowed us to check in early since we had an excursion set up. We got checked in and got to see a Macaw! Room was awesome! Animals all over. We saw a sloth from our balcony. Would book again!

Villas Nicolas is beautiful and we were so happy with our stay! The staff was very welcoming and attentive. The breakfast each morning was a lovely , and the grounds and pool were exceptional. The hotel is within walking distance of many restaurants, the beach (20 min), and even Manuel Antonio NP if you're up for a little hike. Public transit runs regularly and is inexpensive to get to around the area. Lovely stay! If were ever back in CS, we'll be back at Villas Nicolas!

We had a wonderful stay at Villas Nicolas. The property is conveniently located on the Main Street and close to restaurants. Our room was very nice and had a lovely view of both the jungle and sea. We were able to see monkeys and birds in the morning and it was truly magical. The Breakfast is delicious and the general layout and landscaping of the property makes you think you’re in an oasis. We will definitely be back!

Very nice villas, we got the king bed with ocean view. The room was very clean, large balcony with hamac, kitchenette if you want to cook, and living room area. It took about 35 min to walk down to the beach, but you can also take the bus or Uber if you prefer. Area is not very walkable, there's not always a sidewalk, but if you're careful for cars it was fine to walk around to go to the beach or restaurants

Dennys was the property manager and was so helpful. The only downside is that walking around that area is a little dicey because of the lack of consistent sidewalks. Would definitely stay again.

This property is enchanting and with incredible views of the ocean. You feel like you are I. The jungle too! The villas are lovely and decorated very well. There is noise from the street and restaurants that are close by and convenient, but it is not too much of an issue. One word of caution! Make sure you are able to stay on the days you pay for as there are No Refunds!!!

Lovely self-contained apartments. Dennys and his team were very friendly, helpful and approachable. We had booked a superior villa, but on arrival we were informed that that room was not available due to essential maintenance, so were given two villas, which suited us and our adult daughter better, giving us all more space to relax. Each villa had a great balcony with comfortable seating and a hammock, great for chilling out at the end of the day. The villas have a great sea view with lovely well tended gardens. We are visited by capachins, squirrel monkeys, and there were even what felt like resident Scarlet Macaws, perching in a dead palm tree by the pool. Sadly no sloths, I guess because of the sound of the maintenance work ongoing (as we stayed before peak season). The pool was very clean and nice to have a gentle swim after a long day sightseeing. The breakfast was basic, but very tasty and prepared fresh for you each morning. We had a very relaxing stay, and would highly recommend Villas Nicolas. Thank you Dennys and team xx

Enjoyed breakfast but only two options available. All staff very good, Paula particularly helpful while making an online booking. Access could be a problem with steps depending on chosen room. Our room at Villas Nicolas was well appointed, comfortable, and the view from the deck was truly spectacular. We saw toucans, monkeys and macaws all from our deck. Staff, Denise & Paula up front were terrific. Pool, location and room were terrific. Breakfast was weirdly limited ,almost like “ take it or leave it by design. It was ok for me ..less is better. #1 eggs white toast (margarine on request) & rice. #2 2 pancakes. Coffee & juice. But oatmeal or yogurt choice would be nice. I would return and do one special breakfast off premises.

There were also a pair of scarlet macaws nesting in a nearby tree that we could watch from the patio. Reception and service were great. Daily cooked-to-order breakfast was included. No issues with overcrowding at the parking lot or pool. As for activities, we took a guided tour of Manuel Antonio and then swam at the stunning beach inside the park until closing time. We also drove to Marino Ballena National Park (the "whale tail" natural formation where you can see humpback whales in season) and took a sunset snorkel cruise from Marina Pez Vela in Quepos. Overall, this is a beautiful, relaxing and friendly place that we would definitely visit again.

Perfect location - plenty of restaurants (notably Emilio's, El Avion and Claro Que Si), bars and shops within very easy walking distance; you could also walk to the Manuel Antonio Park entrance and beaches if you wanted to (we had a rental car so chose to drive the short distance). Grounds and pool area are gorgeous and serene, with beautiful mature trees and flowering plants providing a sense of privacy. Pool area was very clean. The highlight of our upstairs room was the huge private saltillo tile patio with plenty of outdoor seating, a hammock, and wooden shutters. The sweeping view of the ocean at the bottom of the hill was spectacular. Monkeys ran over the patio railings and played in the trees every day and were literally close enough to touch. This was our first time at this property and the staff made us feel at home. They even remembered our breakfast preferences! The staff was excellent, very professional and super friendly. From the security guard that met us late at night because we were running late, to Dennis at the main office and Enoc and Petunia at the restaurant, we felt just at home! Thank you for making our already wonderful trip even better!

This place was absolutely wonderful. We had a lovely time for the 9 nights we stayed and the place truly felt like home. Dennys, the manager, is extremely kind, and we really enjoyed getting to know him. His sweet animals on the property were one of our favorite parts. Noella, Stella, and Arlo the cat were so cute. He has the dogs very well trained, and it's clear they are very loved. The property was beautiful with incredible views. We saw capuchins several times right outside our balcony! All the rest of the staff was incredible, and the breakfasts were great. Highly recommend this place to stay!

OMGGGGGosh this is one of the most amazing hotels we have ever stayed in! We loved the roominess, super nice bed, everything clean and comfortable. The cleaning lady Marjorie was AWESOME with cleaning and leaving beautiful towels in designs. The deck was roomy as well with plenty of comfortable furniture. The chef at their breakfast cafe was also AMAZING with every delicious meal and perfect service. The manager Dennis was always considerate with knowledge points and suggestions. The outside is so beautiful with plants, flowers and trees, plus all the steps and walkways were always clean and very pretty. If we come back to Costa Rica we will stay here again!!!

100% recommend staying at Villas Nicholas. If you are after a jungle /beach experience in Costa Rica this is the place to stay. Pool was amazing.Friendly helpful staff. We saw Macaw’s pool side. From our deck we had a barrel of squirrel monkeys and capuchin monkeys swinging by. Watched a Sloth sitting in a tree . The sounds of the jungle to fall asleep by. You will hear Howler Monkeys am and pm. Book the night walk which is located right across the street from Villas Nicholas . Manuel Antonia National Park and beaches easy to get to by bus.
