Top class breakfast and hotel staff incredibly friendly and warm

From the time we arrived the whole experience was excellent. Booking in was easy and fully explained about the wifi, breakfast and dinner. Room was very clean and shower was worked well.

Great breakfast, ok location and excellent bar and breakfast staff. The people on reception usually set the tone for what you can expect during your stay. On this occasion I was a little bit surprised by how the receptionist enjoyed telling me and my 4 year old son what we couldn’t do because we were early for check in (unprompted: check jn, use the pool, not to expect a call when our room was ready). We were early. and all i wanted to do was hand our bags over. We did that but I had to ask if we could do that rather than being asked if we would like to do that. Sounds a bit picky u know, but I also had to revisit reception to ask if I needed to do anything with regard to the parking machine just off reception. I was advised that we didn’t and told ‘not to touch the machine’. Nine if it was malicious at all, all done with a smile, but it did make me think, Christ you (receptionist) enjoyed that exchange! Anyway, we had lunch in the bar whilst waiting for our room. Bar staff were amazing with my boy. Went to reception at 2pm and yes our room was now available. We were sat in line of sight of the receptionists they could have let us know our room was ready. Picky I know, but am used to a friendly welcome not a condescending one.

Everything was fantastic

Our third stay at the hotel. It’s easy to find with on site parking. We like the location, in the docks where there is plenty to see and do, but still not far into the city centre. The staff are always friendly and helpful always ready to talk to you and suggest places to visit. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The hotel has a pool and sauna which we enjoy to relax in. We always find the breakfast to have a wonderful variety of different dishes, the hot items kept warm and regularly replenished. The surrounding area has plenty to see and do within easy walking distance, with a variety of different restaurants. We travel up from Derbyshire for relaxing city breaks and plan to return as we always feel relaxed and recharged after a visit.
