Riad Layalina Fes

We had a 3-night stay booked but ended up checking out after a few hours due to the room setup. Our room did not have an en-suite bathroom—the bathroom was located outside the room across a shared staircase area. While we were told it was private, the lock did not function properly, which made us uncomfortable. The staff were extremely kind and helpful, and the riad itself is beautiful. There may have just been a mismatch in expectations, as this setup wasn’t clear to us when booking. We were charged for the stay, breakfast, and transport, and payment had to be made in cash, which required an extra trip to withdraw money. Pros: - Great location - Beautiful, traditional riad - Very kind and helpful staff Cons: - Bathroom not attached to the room - Bathroom lock did not work properly - Cash payment only Overall, a lovely riad, but worth confirming room details if you prefer more modern amenities.

Riad Laylina is beautiful, clean, has great views, and is in a great location. Mohamad did a superb job making sure we were taken care of. He made a fantastic breakfast, gave recommendations of where to go, and set us up on a tour. The tour was with Abdoul. Abdoul is extremely knowledgeable and knows the history and landmarks of the city very well. I highly recommend taking advantage of the tour, just ask Mohamad and he will set it up.

Charming rial a stone’s throw from the Medina. My train was late due to flooding and the staff not only had stayed up until 4 am to greet me but offered to make me something for dinner. The room was clean, beautiful, and breakfast simple and delicious. Next time I am in Fes, I will definitely stay at Layalina.

The hotel located at end of a little street near the Medina. It is a little hard to find, a local guy led us and locked in the door a while to get staff’s attention. There is no reception desk inside and no bottle water offered for the day. The hotel is about 12-15 minutes walking to the blue gate.
