It was the most beautiful riad with tasteful decor and lovely, spacious rooms. The outdoor gardens were lovely and I enjoyed my quiet mornings in thd hammock. I will definitely return.

Stayed 3 nights

The Riad building and grounds are in traditional Moroccan style and decor. Our room (Deluxe Suite) was quite spacious. We've stayed for 3 nights and our room was cleaned daily, bed linens and even the bathrobes were changed daily. This Riad is conveniently located in close proximity to a main street with many restaurants and cafes. That is all for the positive side. On the negative side: The breakfast is terrible. Waiting time to get any food on your table is at least 30 min. The servers at the breakfast are the same young girls that clean the rooms (looks and feels like cheap labour). There are three dogs on the premisses that walk free and barking all night long. One of the nights we couldn't sleep at all because of these dogs. The Riad does offer a dinner menu, however the price is unreasonably hight. Walk 100 meters to a main street and you will pay fraction of that price. One more detail - Keep in mind that this Riad doesn't except credit cards. The conclusion: I would NOT recommend Riad Dar Ziryab

The guy at the front desk was rather rude. He told us off for ringing the intercom a couple of times at arrival when it took multiple minutes to answer the door. Not sure why he did not use the intercom to ask us to wait or to buzz us in! He then told us the city tax was €12 per room or 150MAD (which is 20MAD more than the price in euros at the current exchange rate) and refused to back down when we challenged this. He did however use a much more accurate exchange rate at checkout when charging for drinks. Furthermore the Moroccan tea was €3 pp and overboiled and very bitter. The rooms were not very soundproofed and we could hear everyone talking and walking past in the corridor. The cleaning staff only came around after 5pm but did leave the room smelling very nice and replaced all the towels.
