Stayed 2 nights

We spent two very relaxing nights at the Hakone Suishoen and made great use of the private onsen in the room. We had kaiseki dinner for both nights because one of our kids was younger than 10 and was not allowed the Teppanyaki dinner. Staff: Overall, the staff welcomed us very warmly and also put in their effort to make our stay very enjoyable. Most of the staff could speak English as well, so it's not a problem if you don't speak Japanese. Food: What can I say, both the Japanese breakfast and Kaiseki dinner were top notch and were very satisfying. One minor thing I would comment on is that the food tends to get similar if you stay more than one night and choose the same type of meal. They tried to make it slightly different, though. Onsen: The private onsen in the room was very wide and could fit my family of four comfortably. I also went to the public onsen and used the facilities there (the sauna was very hot, and good!). Thank you, Hakone Suishoen, for making our first ryokan experience a very wonderful one. We will definitely be coming back.

This was without a doubt the most Lux accommodations I’ve ever stayed in and that is saying something. We loved the provided yukatas. The meals were amazing. The place is spectacular. Start to finish. I highly recommend it.

This onsen stay was a perfect harmony of nature, tradition, and hospitality. If you’re looking for a place to reset your soul, indulge in exceptional cuisine, and be cared for with sincere warmth, this is the place. We left feeling refreshed, grateful, and already dreaming of our return.

Beautiful hotel, but it was a bit of a walk from the bus station if you’re going into Hakone. Be sure to call the hotel to have a shuttle pick you up from the nearest shuttle stop, which is down the hill from the property. Stuff that was super nice although they didn’t know too much about the tourist bus lines-recommend getting a hug Kone 1 to 3 day pass if you’re staying longer. Property is beautiful, great Japanese breakfast and dinners. They really take care of you – amenities are great in the room, especially with the private onsen. Prices were higher than most because we went during early cherry blossom season. it is like a seven minute walk slightly uphill towards the major bus stop for the tourist attractions. Overall, we had a great experience to stay there – either did not see many children and noise level was kept to a minimum. Definitely would love to stay here again for a romantic getaway.
