Richard's Hotel

The room was ok. It does need some updating. My phone charger would not stay in outlets, the connection was loose and would fall out. Room had microwave and mini fridge. The freezer was covered in ice but still did it's job. Beds were comfy. The water for shower was super hot which is a plus. The door did have a gap on top but the room temperature still stayed comfortable. Room was clean. Hotel does have a pool. Hotel is on the main road with a bus stop close by. Area is a little run down but felt safe. 15 min walk to Hollywood Blvd. Family Dollar and European market across the street. Bakeries and food choices walkable distances. Overall a good stay on a budget.

This was a low-budget experience. I found it on Hotels.com listed among some of the higher priced hotels. In fact, there are quite a few motels along Hwy 1 in Ft Lauderdale. This one is probably not unique. Amenities were sparse-TV, Micro, mini-fridge, towels. Terrible pillows. Bathrm floor was dirty. Water on the floor when I checked in. This also doubles as a weekly/monthly residence during the off season. It clearly sees a lot of wear. Pool was nice. Lots of parking avail. Close to lots of restaurants, and easy to get around with the location on Hwy 1.

Steven and the staff were professional and courteous. Room clean and parking was free and safe area.

Well ,the place is ok . My room was not as nice as the last time i stayed there . For almost 90 bucks a night , i expected a little more . Also no ice machine . Which most hotels have one

I like the parking. Room is clean for single person upstaurs. Aircon needs change, too noisy and disturbs sleep.No convenient store. Need coffee at least in the morning. Days and week stay options a goid idea.

Great people at front desk, house keeping, and maintenance they were all very friendly and professional, Clean room, AC was very efficient, I left it off during a record 87 degree day and when I came back at end of day, turned it on took a dip in the pool and room was cool in less than 10 minutes! Free parking next to room.Public bus stop at the corner for FLL Airport bus. My only problem was no hangers in closet

My stays at Richard's are always very nice and the rooms are so comfortable and clean. What a place to get away to.

The staff was pleasant. The room was filthy. I stay in Hollywood twice a month. I like the location. the doors ARENT secure. Huge gap. The furniture and bed were awful. Don’t understand why you can’t find used furniture to update your business. Pure greed.

There was human hair on the towels in the bathroom. Bugs on the bed, and the rooms felt unsafe as there were tiny locks on the doors.

The air conditioner is so old that it's about to fall apart. There are cockroaches in the room.

Surprisingly way better than the pictures, I got a renovated room. Loved everything from the staff to the room and the unbeatable prices. It’s definitely hotel status worthy and better service than a few hotels I’ve stayed at (Hilton, Courtyard, etc). Only cons I would say is the chippy internet and lack of parking. Other than that this is definitely some bang for your buck.

Room needs to be updated ASAP, especially for that very central tourist area. Walls had large stains patches, shower head water flow very weak, no coffee service, mattress too soft and sunk in the center, one pillow was as flat as a pancake. TV control not working, had to turn it on manually and also for volume and channels.

This place was pretty basic but clean and in good condition.

The room needed a total renovation furniture was old bed was totally uncomfortable bathroom was really small had to turn sideways just to use the toilet the rooms at this property definitely need renovation

Richard’ was ok. Wi-Fi doesn’t work and TV was very blurry and off color.

Overall enjoyed the stay. Downtown area was a short walk away, but this was in a pocket that had a lot of Russian, Ukrainian, Hungarian, Cuban, and French people and businesses around, and I loved that. Especially for cultural food options. Beaches are a short drive. The building seemed dated and the AC was iffy, but it was quaint and felt like some places I've stayed in Europe. Staff was pretty hands-off. One major complaint is that my room was next to an exterior door and the first couple nights there were people loudly slamming this door NONSTOP til morning. Literally coming and going ALL night.

Horrible wifi

I always enjoy staying at Richard's Hotel and having Steven McIver to take care of me. He is such a professional at handling situations that occur. Always smiling and takes care of any situation that might happen.

Check in after 4 pm the lady was not very nice The day lady was very friendly and helpful

The daytime front desk agents are a bit rude, and God forbid if you are slightly late for check out!!! They took my $20 cash deposit as a fine for going a bit past 11 am check out-all because I had to make 2 trips to my car!! If you aren’t out BEFORE 11, they send someone from housekeeping to knock on your do and their manager tries to get the key from you!!! I would’ve given them the key if I didn’t have to take an extra trip to the car!! This is about the worst experience I’ve had with any hotel stay!!! If this had been a pleasant experience, I might have given this review more stars, and the hotel more of my business!!! I guess my business or my review isn’t needed or appreciated. I stayed 2 nights-the first was fine, the second one was about the worst!!! Stay away from here if you want more comfort and you need to stay slightly past 11 am checkout!!

Check in was the worst yet fat man behind window, said my name set off all kinds of bells and whistles. I've never had any problems in all the times I've stayed here. Registration card was told to fill highlighted areas, when I turned it in was rudely told I had to fill all in "it's there isn't it"?

I always enjoy my stay at any of the Richard's Hotels. The check in is quick and easy and the staff is quite professional especially when I am leaving who name is Steven and makes sure that all is well by me. Thank you Steven for caring!

I stayed five nights in Richard Hotel. At check in the woman demanded 50 dollar cash only deposit, which I had not expected. I was told to get the money from the atm in the office, which was off limits to me at first. Then I was given a list of things I was not allowed to do like I’m a common criminal, very demeaning attitude towards a guest. It was an overall horrible feeling at check in. This woman either hates her job or is the rudest person I’ve ever come across in my 56 years on earth. My room was on the second floor, very plain, well used furniture nothing matched. No luggage rack or hair dryer. I went down to the office to get a hair dryer and was told to walk down the street to the other property to get one. I went there and the guy was super nice. So here I am walking down the highway carrying a hair dryer. This was utterly ridiculous to not have a hair dryer available and then to make me walk a block to get it! No room service for my 5 night stay. I used the same two scratchy paper thin towels and one washcloth all week. I was warned at check in not to overflow my trash cans also. I guess if you’re from a third world country this place would be great. If not you will be very disappointed here.

Rude front desk check-in and check out

When I arrived I was told that I was not allowed to leave my room after 10pm or come back in after 10pm. I was also told I am not allowed to make noise after a certain hour, I was not allowed to come back smelling like cigarettes or I would not be allowed to stay in the property. The staff were very rude and I will never stay here again.

I always enjoy staying at Richard's because I am treated like a celebrity and everyone knows my name. They cater to my every need and I feel safe and secure there.

Lots of sketchy people in the area

What I like about this property is that its very affordable and its in a very good location to shop and do other things. I stayed here for three nights and I noticed that the room wasn't cleaned properly..There was hair on the towels and on the bed..The blanket on the bed was dirty..There was tiny cockroaches under the micowave and other places..I also found a piece of napkin in the microwave from the previous guest.
